Medieval market place stand ideas
« on: June 01, 2013, 18:29:51 »
I'm trying to build up my medieval market place and already have the 5341 produce stand and 7855 knight stand pieces.  I have a bunch of meat pieces (and a few cheeses) and I'd like to have a meat stand, but another 5341/7855 piece will take up a bit too much space and start to look monotonous.

I'd love to get the fish market counter, but haven't found one.

Does anyone know if the 4891 can be made to look non-Christmas-y?

Anyone have other ideas?

Ben

Yes, the 4891 can be used without the snow and the stickers.  I used mine last year as part of my Pop in the Park display  (scroll down past the Space pictures to see how I used them)

I may have a spare fish counter, but I'm not sure, I'd have to check.

Something with pots and pans might also be good for the market, and maybe a carpenter.

You could also use the stand (and not the non-period accessories) from the Victorian Market stand (5342):

The DS version 7455 might be found:

There is the pottery stand (same thing as the knight's one but different colours):

Now, if you were really wanting to make something that looks different, you can always make it yourself.  Using some wood dowels and some thin wood (popsicle sticks that are cut, for instance - they are a very hard wood compared to cutting pine down to scale and you will need something like a razor saw to cut them well and properly (bandsaw in your school's wood shop)).

But you can make something like:

Awesome pics!  I love the Victorian fish market counter and the pottery house.  I will get them when I can find them for a somewhat reasonable price.

I think the key thing would be to find a material that would "look" right for the scale.

Maybe even a thin canvas?  It could be painted.
