So, I was wondering what a playmobil llama would look like, so I drew one myself (There will be some mistakes in the drawing, but this is sort of the idea and sorry for the bad photo's):

You're quite an artist! I like the idea of having the head swivel up and down, that's really good. They definitely need to have a baby llama, too.

Here is the little one ;)
Maybe a little too life like for playmobil?
-
Ooooooh!!! Not at all, it's adorable! Absolutely perfect! I really hope they do give us llamas soon, and that they are really cute and well done.
-
GORGEOUS! Now I want them.
-
great drawings, if only playmobil would make one like that. I love all the movement
-
Thanks everyone ;D
I love all the movement
I'm really missing all the movement on all the new animals... :( most of them can only move their neck (not all ofcourse, but still).
-
And the koalas can't move at all. :-\ I found them a hair disappointing, though they are cute.
-
Just like the Koalas I was really disappointed in the new mammoth's lack of movement . PlaymoZoo maybe you could get a job for geobra designing the animals, your design is way better than what has been coming out of Zirndorf
-
and playmozoo when yo uget this job please design a playmobil troll !!!!!
so many air and sea monsters and stuff but nothing land fantasy like :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:

They are my favorite klickies !!!!!!!!!!!

Those are wonderful drawings, look just right. You should send copies of them to Playmobil. Email is easy to ignore but the company has always paid real attention to paper letters they get. They sometimes actually use them to base designs upon.

I too think you should mail them your idea and resume. Maybe you could have some kid sign it so they think a young person made it... anything to get their attention for this great design

Are you 14 ? :eh?:
-
Yes
-
Oh mY you are 14?? !!!
At 14 I couldn't draw a circle with a compass and you did this!!!! Congratulations!
You should study design or art when you are older!
Loved the baby llama! :(o): :(o): :(o):
-
Yes
not only never stop drawing but you need to spend more time doing it :)9 You have talent in seeing how designs work and you communicate your ideas very well through drawing. Many people have one or the other but you have both
draw us some bats :prays:

Bravo PlaymoZoo i think its pretty obvious you got a lot of talent. :) :) :)!!!!
When i was 14 i couldnt even draw a straight line :hmm:

Oh they're sooooo cute. I WANNA squeeeesh them NOW.
You are VERY VERY talented. Even more so if you're just 14! Wow. :wow:
(I didn't see the bat..)
You can put the big yak like this (but without the spaces):

Thank you ;D

They're AMAZING.. and so.. playmobilish. It's a word. Now. (channeling Joss Whedon)
-
Oh, the bat design is awesome! I love the way you designed it to be able to hang upside down. The yaks are adorable, they're all just perfect! You definitely need to send these in a letter to Geobra. You're young enough that they will listen to you. I looked at your profile the other day and was surprised when I noticed you were only 14, so I was laughing to myself when someone said you should send a resume. But you are definitely very talented, you should pursue that talent.
-
Those drawings are awesome, PlaymoZoo! They'd probably turn out better for viewing if you scanned them instead of taking pictures with a camera. :)
The poor iguana received no votes though. :(
-
Thank you everyone!
Here are some better pictures of...
....the yak:

.... the little red panda! :D
(http://i1175.photobucket.com/albums/r624/PlaymoZoo/2794191d.jpg)
Maybe I should start a new topic somewhere else? ???
-
thank you for posting your new drawings of these great looking animals. The only change I would suggest is that the bats wings do not move. If it is too scale it will be on the smaller side, smaller than the crow so it would be hard to make it move. The bats legs should have the standard feet that grab tree branches so it is versatile, I just do not want it to be like the small birds with just a hole
-

Yes, I was thinking about that too, thanks for the suggestions :)
-
Those are fantastic drawings, you really have the style down. I agree - you should pursue art or design in the future, you have real talent
-
The red panda is so CUTE!!! If you want to start a topic here in brainstorming for playmobil starting out with your pictures, more people will probably see it, since they are rather buried in this topic. Or I can split the topic for you if you want.
-
I like the idea of the bats with the little peg hole as they would be the right size for small bats and there could be 2 designs one with the wrapped wings and one with the opened wings like your drawings... of course nothing stops them from making 2 sizes of bat one with pegs and the other larger bats with feet ;)
-
Maybe I should start a new topic somewhere else? ???
I think it'd be an awesome idea to start a new topic with your ideas (and drawings of course) for new animals! You could make one in the Brainstorming section; it's a lot of fun there! ;)
-
That's exactly the red panda I voted for (and yet I'm the only one so far )
Beautifully drawn, and it's pretty difficult to get playmobil right > I used to make inventories with drawings of my clickies and I could never make it work the way you do!
:)9

maybe the fruit bats which are typically larger could have the feet and a smaller breed of bat that has the hole like the colored birds or pigeons. Both breeds of bat would have one open winged and one closed wing version. There are no upside-down hole locations so I do not see though how a small bat with a hole would be displayed? The larger bat with feet could be hung in trees

that is one set I do not have yet, its on the list X20. We live in an 1800's apple community :apple:. There are apple orchards everywere but the crop is no longer wanted :'( its all grapes now <:>.
So how do they attach the apple?
PS: side note... what new plants should playmo make?? Grapes from a vineyard, we need a vineyard :cham:
-
and a banana tree !!!

Each apple has a hole in the stem and hangs from a small spike under the tree limb.

We too live in the midst of apple orchards. :cloud9:
This is a great set by the way, there are loads of extra pieces that come in handy.

Apple orchards are amazing as are strawberry both especially after a rain

Sounds like a good subject for a topic!
-
That is a rare tree branch, this must be the only set it comes in? Not rare as in there are none but rare as in only very limited sets have it. This would work for a bat but there are so many old trees that do not have this feature, maybe a brown clip that has a peg on the lower end, similar to the green or white plant part that slips on the branch and hold a bird.
Apple orchards are amazing as are strawberry both especially after a rain
Sorry the farmer in me knows that strawberries get totally destroyed in a rain storm and you just lost your crop  :wall: :sorrow:

A small rain brings out all the lovely smell of the strwaberries though doesnt it ?
or probably not :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[... the farmer in me reminds me he dont know anyhting else other than tobacco plantation and olive trees and pistachio trees ( we produce the last two still ;) )
-
OMG! I love the fox!! these drawings are fantastic!!!!!!!!!
-
:o How have I missed this!?! What fantastic drawings!! Great job!! I love the yak!
-
I know people have already said this but, you're drawings are really beautiful, clearly you have a skilled hand combined with a good mind and with that combination you could probably have a great future in that area if it interest you enough that you choose to study it further, wherever your path leads you good luck and look after those drawings :) ;)
-
Awesome drawings! Love the Red Panda and Fennec Fox
-
Thank you all!
It has been a while, but I started drawing playmobil animals again.
I tried some dog breeds and I hope you'll like them.
Bulldog:

WOOOOPS!
Uh.. well, that's scar from the lion king I drew :-[
Wrong photo
Here's the real husky:

 Amazing sketches! I love all of them especially the boxer, one of my favorite breeds.
Joe
-
Very nice sketches, the husky is my favourite.
Friendly George. :)

Thanks!
Here's a walrus:

;D
-
Love them all! I really hope they do a walrus soon, and if they base it on this sketch, that would be great, it's very cute. Also love the bulldog and the husky. Nice picture of scar too. I had to laugh when I saw that!
-
 They're all so cuuute - I want them!
And I liked Scar too - though I never watched the Lion King - seems to be a bit strong for me.
-

Thank you very much! And you never watched the lion king?! :o
Too bad, eventhough it's a kid-movie I think it's pretty great :-[
Any dogbreed suggestions btw?

I saw a comic at the time, and it was very violent. I can't stand violence with animals. Usually stay away.
Yorkshire :)

Yorkshire :)
I can't stand violence with animals either, but I still liked the movie. But that is a matter of opinion ofcourse :)
Anyway, for some reason Yorkshire terriers are really hard to draw, don't know why. Maybe because of the long hairs?
Not completely happy, but here he is:
Hope you like him ;)
-
Aw, cute yorkie! How about a bloodhound? And a schnauzer, I love those.
Tahra, you should definitely watch it, I still like it even now I'm grown up! I don't like violence period, and I remember when it first came out (I was 9 years old) that I saw the previews and didn't want to see it because it looked violent. I did see it though, because everyone else did, and I ended up loving it! The violence wasn't upsetting at all, except for one sad part. It's a really cute little movie.
-
Ha, I thought that was Scar! That drawing looked great. :)
-
I want that Yorkshire
How about a persian cat?
As to the movie.. I don't know.. I LIKE violent movies.. as long as it's with people - after all, my fave movie this year (hope the Hobbit is even better) was the Expendables 2 (except for the dog scene - dialog only, bad enough)..., but I'm a big Stallone AND Lundgren fan, so..
It's "animal violence" I can't stand - in books too, some pretty horrid scenes that I can NEVER forget, though I always skipped them in rereading...
-
Aw, cute yorkie! How about a bloodhound? And a schnauzer, I love those.
Done and done! The schnauzer looks a bit off, sorry.

:o
They're all great.. but the bloodhound.... Gods. :wow:
-
The schnauzer isn't off at all, it's absolutely perfect! Exactly what I pictured. And that bloodhound!    Perfect down to the last wrinkle. I want it!
-
LOOOOOOOVE the schnauzer!!
-
very nice drawings, the only thing I miss in playmobil animals is the ability to move. The mouth, legs and tail. If any of these were to be made I would want them to articulate. The recent light weight limited moving caveman series animals was very disappointing
-

Yes, I know what you mean. My idea is that the heads and tails of "my" dogs can move, but the paws can't, so that they fit in with the recentely released dogsbreeds. It would be cute if the mouth could open anyway, but maybe it would be a little too small for that?
I did like the mammout though, but I like the solid animals way more, like the bison.
Glad you like my drawings! :)
-
Yes, the bison and the cape buffalo are two of my favorites and they don't move. I wouldn't want all the animals to have fixed limbs, but some look way more realistic that way. I can't imagine the horses with movable legs for instance.
-
My majer problem with the stone animals is that the sabertooth has a FIXED open mouth... I'd prefer them to either open the jaw, or just keep their mouths shut.
Also thing both sabertooth and mammoth should be bigger....
As for moving legs.. meh. Have you tried to keep a bunch of old giraffes standing? To me it's not a big deal... Not even sure if I wouldn't prefer them with fixed legs..
-
Hey, Tahra, here's your cat anyway ;)
Not sure if it is playmobil-ish enough?
And here's a beagle
(http://i1175.photobucket.com/albums/r624/PlaymoZoo/lalala001.jpg)
-

They're all soooo cute. Did you send these to playmobil? You really should.
-
Did you send these to playmobil? You really should.
No, I haven't actually. Is the adress on the playmobil site?
-
I am going to suggest that posting them on the PCC might be the best and fastest way. :)
-
Just noticed this thread! Playmozoo, you're doing an excellent job; not just the sketching the animals but also translating it to a Playmobil shape! Beautiful! The idea of the bats is great and could be used in several themes.
Maybe Playmobil should co operate with WNF and bring a theme with only endangered species. Good for the public relations, good for the WNF and good for the animals. They already have quite a bunch of animals which the Playmobil versions outnumber the real ones...
-
How would a Playmobil lynx look like? :)

I really like this one, Lynxes are one of my favourite animals!

Thank you for the tip. Should I just add the pictures or should I start a blog? I'm not really familiar with pcc yet...
-
the lynx...
The PCC is to me as complicated as facebook...

Yes, but maybe without all the rubbish that comes with those (we already have enough rubbish on this world, haven't we?), just the animals... and for each purchase a percentage goes to WNF. A nice collection as, for example, Schleich makes.
-
Yep, that would definitely be great! THere's an endless supply of animals out there they haven't done, so I wouldn't mind seeing a huge release of them. It would keep Tim veeeery busy.
-
Well, I've posted some of my designs on pcc, and this is a reaction from Playmobil:
"Dear PlaymoZoo,
Welcome to the PCC! Thank you so much for showing us these pictures. These are really great designs... Respect!
Really an inspiration for our dog breed series!
Greetings,
your PCC team | Sandra"
iiiiiiee :woohoo:
Really happy now!
-
AWESOME!!! the Lynx is my favorite yet ;D
-
That's so exciting!
-
Congratulations PlaymoZoo! Completely deserved!
:wow:

Thanks, I hear that often ;)
-
Thank you :)

Yes that is true but there is only you stopping yourself from doing it. Have you ever tried sculpting putty ? I would love to see what you could create in a 3D version of your drawings. add a little paint ;)
-
I saw Sandra had featured your drawings in the Blog roll at PCC. Fully deserved, you are doing great art!
-
Yes that is true but there is only you stopping yourself from doing it. Have you ever tried sculpting putty ? I would love to see what you could create in a 3D version of your drawings. add a little paint ;)
Yeah, you should try that! Though they're different skills and a lot of people who can do one can't do the other. I can sculpt but my drawings really stink.
-

What's putty? Some sort of clay?
-
Yep. There are artificial clays that can be baked in your own oven without needing a high-temperature kiln. Sculpey is the brand I used to use.
-
I'm trying to clay the bloodhound now with "das" clay- it's pretty hard!! :-\
I haven't clayed (you say it that way?) since I was like 10. forgot how much dun it is :)
-
It's "sculpted." Can't wait to see your efforts! I haven't done much sculpting in a long time except for small playmobil objects like foods for the animals. But I used to really love it. It's a lot of fun.

Ah, thank you. So I am done sculping the bloodhound, but let's say my drawing is better I think. He looks a bit grumpy

Practice and patience, I am sure when you first started drawing they looked strange as well but now we all think you drawings are playmo brilliant ;)
-
The process of the bloodhound (he looks ok, but not playmo-ish, I think) sorry for the bad pics:

HOLY COW.... he looks great... like a droopy skinned bloodhound puppy ;D
-
Aaaaaaand........

A bit sloppy and not playmo- goodlooking, but I like him :)
(those big pictures make him look pretty bad but in real life he looks a bit better!)
-
He's really cute!! Impressive how you made the drawing come to life :)
-
He's absolutely adorable! Very good job!
-
We need a pic with a klicky!
-
Your creative skills are outstanding, Playmozoo! And if you ever make a lynx like that (size is important, it's smaller then a leopard) and you allow me to borrow it for a while, it would be the first non- Playmo figure allowed to appear in my "The Story of Randolph" comic!
-

It's a little too big for playmobil, here's a picture:

Wow, thank you! That would be an honour ;D
I'm allready starting with the lynx, but you must know that the drawings will look better for sure and there will be NO movable parts!! Anyway, 'd love to help
-
He's like a big gentile giant :)
Yeah, a bit on the big side... but hey, the more to SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESH!
...and there's Pickup! ;)
-
It has been a while, but I'm trying the lynx for the second time, not completely happy.
But *ahum* Here's my secret:

Haha, wonderful

That's great! Good to know you have plenty of help!
-
Nice!
-
Playmozoo you are super talented!!!
The hound looks great and the lynx even better!
-
Very nice.
George.
-
That Lynx is beautiful!
-
Well... here he is! Better late then never :)
I must say in real life he looks less patchy...ish... and he is a little too big, but if it was smaller I couldn't have make it like this.
aaaaand... he has got movable paws!!
(I don't know how to make the images smaller)

the front does look odd as you can see on the last picture but I hope you like him!! ;D
-
Nice job, PlaymoZoo!
-
Gorgeous  Love his paw 'prints'!
-
(picking my jaw from the floor) :o
That's... AMAZING!
-
:o :o :o :o :o How did you do it??
I love it!
-
Thank you everyone ;D
It was very fun to do.
:o :o :o :o :o How did you do it??
At first I made the body and paws with clay and then I attached the front paws with half a toothpick and did the same with the backpaws. (very professional, huh? )
I let it dry and then I painted it.
It was a little harder then it sounds, I must say
-
Very nice job on your first playmobil animal. I too like your paw print detail, something Geobra could learn to do as well.
Thanks for sharing your work :xmascheer:

It has been a while, but after seeing the new Asian castle I was really disappointed of the "Asian Dragons"
I didn't see the whole "Asian" thing about those dragons,
so (you can guess) I drew one in two different colours (my colouring skills aren't great)
Blue

Red

What do you all think?
-
Yours are perfect. Fu Dogs or Lions would also be a better animal choice.
-
Wow, Fu Dogs would be great. You mean as a statue, right? not as a real monster/animal?
-
They are as real as dragons and the oh so many unicorns so why not?
-
True. But I think more children are interested in the unicorns and dragons, because they see them a lot more in stories and so on. It would be very cool anyway.
-
Yours fit the theme much better. And they are great drawings! ;)

Completely agree! I said so in the other topic, and I'll say it again - you are VERY talented. Your dragons look great (as do your other animals  )

Thank you so much, Tahra! :)

Heh. I doodled one. But I think it would only scare the kids

But after the dragons I started drawing some mythical animals.
I think it would be awesome if Playmobil would make a mythical crature-theme!
The griffin:

The phoenix (not sure about this one):

Sorry for the weird pictures, I was trying to avoid the shadows.
Maybe some tips how I can improve the phoenix? I thought he could be red with yellow feathers on his wings and tail?
-

AMAZING.
(you need pomegranates for Needle - I mean the Phoenix! :) )
-
Those look great. They make a nice yellow and orange blended soft plastic these days that might be nice for the phoenix. Perhaps the wings could be a little fuller/bigger

Oh they're sooooo cute! I want them.
-
Very nice looking drawings of what new playmo animals could look like. I know I would love to add them to our collection. The mystical creatures look good alsoand the way Geobra is going with so much fantasy we may be seeing things like these sooner or later.
Thanks for sharing your excellent drawing and ideas
-
Those are all great, love the baby tapir!
-
i love all the drawings and ideas! looks like playmobil is loosing the tradition of making animals with moveable legs, i hope they really feel inspired by your sketches. I wouldn't hesitate to hire you as a designer myself when you get older - i own a jewelry company and i bet i toy company wouldn't either. Good luck! :)
btw you should make one of those snow buffaloes witht he weird backwards horns - what are they called, Bonnie?
The PCC is to me as complicated as facebook...
I agree!
-
I believe you mean a Yak Luis. Schleich makes a great one.
-
Oh!!!! I missed this until now! Tapirs are one of my favorite animals to see at the zoo, especially babies! You did a great job capturing the incredible cuteness! And the anteater is awesome too, they're so magnificent!
-
Been a while since I've looked on this thread your drawings are still as good as ever including Scar (quite a good likeness ;)). It's good to hear you getitng a response from someone at Playmobil on PCC as you say it doesn't mean anything'll come of it but, we can hope
It's also intersting to see some of your creations coming to live in clay and your team of workers hard at work  they look good quite realistic I've experimented with air dry clay before not really my medium I certianly couldn't create anything particularly skilled mainly been round or long thin objects like peas or chips, rocks or something to fill a bucket or 1/6 mug I've still got my rather ungainly clay scupltures I did at school they leave a lot to be desired ;D :-[

That's also very nice work all your animals look good and very cute :)
-
Very nice drawing! I can definitely see it looking like that
-
I always wanted to see a griffin from playmobi tool. And I was sorely disappointed that the dragons from the Asiatic dragon knights weren't lungs (the serpentine kind). I wish I could sculpt 'cause I could've made my own too. Great job on this!
