I can never throw a box, becuse I think of the value (even though I would never sell) I even keep broken parts, and sprues, now that Indianna suggested it

I have a huge space problem...So I am sorry to say that 98% of the boxes go to the recycle bin...I do try to keep the boxes form the most important sets though...

I display them mostly, and sometimes customize them with the official parts. I throw all of the boxes except for some older sets. I know, the new ones would later become something rare and should be kept boxed or with the boxes. This could be an investment, but the return is simply not rewarding enough for me to see this way. Unless you have like a cargo of 4577, or else the absolute amount of the return would be pale in comparison with equities or even bonds. So....I throw the boxes right away. Of course, many of you have the luxury of storing them due to the bigger space, which would be what I long for, and I would definitely keep the boxes of the bigger sets if I did.~~~~~~~~~!!

I play with my playmobil with James usually, customise it sometimes, make dioramas with it and would love to display it all other than once a year, but haven't room here so most of it (apart from a few klickies the Victorian house and some ships) is packed away.  Some of the large sets are in boxes, but with smaller sets in with them but mostly the smaller boxes are folded flat and stored in the loft. 
Damo. why do you keep pieces of sprue?     Have I missed something that Indianna said about it?

What you have left over when the "useful" bits are out is what is usually referred to as sprue!
