Is there a Flag of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in any playmobil set?
Can anybody provide me with a part number please?
Thank you! :)
-
I don't think there is one. I did think of the 3540 house boat, but I can't see one in the pic on PlaymoDB, and parts obviously aren't available for that anymore.
Damo :)

My old pirateship (3750) had flag stickers of the union jack.

Yes, sorry, 3550.
But I meant this sheet of stickers in Pingu's post:
http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=3817.0
As you can see on the bottom left there were union jack stickers.
Oh, and the last post of that thread was a pic by Richard of the complete sheet.

Great replies everyone!!! Thank you so much!! So it was actually different stickers within a single set... hmmm
Done a little digging... I ve found this in my huge lot of spare parts and i have to admit its the first time that I do not know where it came from... the flag is curved, so is the sticker...

Hi guys,
The best set for Union Jack stickers is one of the western forts 3773, probably the last place you would look for Union Jack stickers is on a western fort.
Heres the link to my WIB scans the part number is printed on the sheet.

Fantastic Sir Gareth!! Thank you so much for your scan!! I've thought about looking at your file, but for some reason I did not... ???

Motorcycle racing set 3779 had the Union Jack flag along with several others, but I don't recall ever seeing an Ireland flag in any set before!

Good one, sir Gareth!
Never would have guessed!

I have a mint large Union JAck from the very first pirate ship i bought in the late 70s.. Sometime in the near future it will stand high again when i have my 400 strong Red coats army that i shall buy in late 2010/ early 2011

Ineresting !!! I didnt know this !!!! cool !!! ;D

Hmmm, I just read this thead and wonder why people wouldn't think a western fort couldn't have a Union Jack... it's just too bad Playmbil doesn't include them any more. There were many forts across what is now Canada that flew the Union Jack for many a year!
Here's Fort Calgary...

Hi Panos.
If you have a worn square white flag to spare for this project of yours then I can make a Union Jack or an Irish flag (or both) for you. But you better check when these were officialised so they match your goal.
Cheers.

Hi Arnaud!!! Thank you very very much for you offer :) :) :) :) :) :) !! I will take you up on that, but what do you mean officialised? Do you mean when they were produced so that you know which pattern to use?
-
No. I mean the Union Jack is the flag of the UK, it was made after three different flags: England (red Saint Georges cross on a white background), Scotland (white St Georges on blue), and Ireland (red St Andrew's cross on white). So if your soldiers are from a time before the UK went official then you may prefer an England flag instead. I have made one specific Knight bearing each of these flags, they'll be in the thread I started about my knights' customs this afternoon.
Cheers.

Hi Panos.
Just reread what you'd written. Actually," when they were produced" was the right term. I sometimes have "glitches" when I write in English...Checked on wiki, I was wrong about the Irish flag: it's Saint Patrick's cross (well, to me it looks furiously the same as Saint Andrew's), AND the Union Jack dates back to January 1st, 1801. To our UK friends: sorry to spend so much time on this matter, I guess you all knew about it already, everybody knows their national flag's history, after all!
Can't wait to show you those, anyway:

Wales

Thought I'd done a picture of the Irish knight but I haven't. I'll make it soon.
Cheers.

Oh right! I think the group will probably be around the Napoleonic Wars and thats around 1800, so the Union jack is the one to Go with!
---edit Just saw your knights!!! They are magnificent!! I really like the first one!! And I thought yellow was a horrible colour!!!
-
Yeah! I thought that too but that was before. Now I've found that yellow is a really cool colour for it's close enough to white so I can use my crystal transfers on other parts than white.
Check this one for example:
The design on the back was printed on a crystal transfer.
Cheers.

This is amazing work Arnaud!! I can barelly see the edges of the sticker!! Really great work!!!
-
Wow! Great customizations, Arnaud! That Black Dragon yellow knight is fantastic!

@WolfKnight and BlueWizard: thanks! That's just the point!
It took me two years to find a media thinner than vinyl, but I finally made it!

I really like your customs here, Arnaud. Your two Scots would work well as William Wallace and Robert the Bruce.
-
Thanks Justindo. I have customised an oval Roman shield for Wallace but I need a clicky with a tartan!
-
I've been looking for a Union Jack to fly colours on my HMS Interceptor (HMS Sentinel). But I was going to fly it off of the spanker line, which the PLaymobil part doesn't attach to. Still, it'd be nice to have a small one to fly atop the mast as well.
The local islander store sells mini Fiji flags which have the Union Jack in the corner; I thought about buying one and cutting out the Union Jack to use...are there any current playmo ones still in production?
-
What about creating your own flags? here are some examples (sorry for the bad picture, it was just done in a minute).

Yes George the Western cannons will be more suitable for a Napoleonic diorama!

Need at least another 20 of these cannons for napoleonic / western collection ... at least ......

Wolf Knight is right in principle concerning field artillery, but when you want to build up naval artillery, things are a little bit different... then the "dicke Berta" is a great deal! By the way I love dioramas with naval and ground troops together.....
But here are some pics of "Non-redcoats" but field-artillery!
-
These is a great collection of custlomly used western confederate cannons Sir Pleamo!!! Really love them but have only one...
Btw, when we are refering to ''Big Bertha'' we are talking about cannons such as the one in 3111 - Royal Artillery (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3111) right? So, can you give us an example of one such a cannon in a naval artilliery? Do you place it on a fortress, or a ship, or just on the shore?
-
Those are awesome customs, Sir Pleamo! :wow: :wow: :wow:
Damo :)
-
Big berthas are very good to use on steck castles used for Pirate/ Napoleonic era I reckon ...
-
These are excellent customs, Sir Pleamo! :)9
