Title: 5978 double axe knight battering ram set
Post by: Elric on August 14, 2012, 02:33:31
Bought a couple of these and I like the blue knights.  This is basically the same set as the recent falcon knight set but a few dollars less.

Here are the goody's.

The ram

Here are the nice looking klickies.

The brown diaper has to go along with the wing crest.

This set is 20 dollars so not bad considering three klickies and a horse along with a big hunk of plastic.

that siege thing might still be one of the ugliest geobra has made, what could those scizzors ever be used for?

Clickies look alright, might have been better with one knight and two common soldiers though.

I can't see anything in the last 4 pics, even with my screensettings as bright as possible I see just darkness... :(

I like it overall but I'm planning on getting rid of the scissors and adding a custom ram.  This could be used in a fantasy setup as is.

I still wish they would just make figure expansion sets that include more figures, weapons, and armour instead of the siege weapons. The strange siege weapons and cannons are sort of useless and annoying!

I know what you mean. I bought 29 of the new knight carry cases with this blue knight and it comes with a cannon. It take a lot of space storing these kinda pieces.

Nice new pictures. :) Did you try the platelegs with the blue tabard bottom for your army? That might look cool.

That's a lot. :o

Is that the crusader Special's helmet in dark grey or am I mistaken?
Oh! And I have to ask: who's the drummer? :)

Arnaud, the helmet is a dark version of the crusader special. I play drums but that's my son's drum kit. He will be 4 in a couple of months and he can play the heck of them already.

Arrgh! I want that helmet so bad!!!! Is there a part number?
My 9 year old son is learning drums too, only we can't have an acoustic drum in our flat, so he practices on an electronic one. Noisy enough already if you ask me!

Strangely, my set came with a yellow crest like the one from the special (where it first showed up, I think). An extra silver crest was thrown into the box to make up for the mistake though. :)

My instructions have these codes:

Great helm (dark):      30 24 3332
Silver crest:                 30 22 0152

It must have been a mistake in the packing then.

Thanks! It will be in my next DS order, then.

Both sets I got came with the yellow crest.

I got two sets, both has a silver AND a yellow crest. One also had an extra dagger and an extra horse helmet.

I like this size of set very much, but like most here, I'd prefer leave out the silly battering ram/shield thing and put in an extra figure instead. Nice heraldry, nice dark colors, and enough variation in the figures to be able to so some swapping and have no two exactly the same in a small unit of a dozen or so soldiers.
