There is a little fortress attached to a sandy baseplate that comes with this set:

And three palm trees for it:

The Pirate ship comes in three pieces, the ship itself, and two masts with sails;

And here it is put together:

A view of the inside of the box, showing the footprint for the baseplate, the water, and the setting sun background:

There is a very convenient spot for the ship to run aground right next to the fortress:

There are four men with cannons, two pirates and two redcoats:

And here are the other figures with the set. I'm undecided as to whether they are all pirates, or if one style is meant to be pirates and the other redcoats. Maybe they could go either way.

The two adorable children that came with the set -- I love the kid with the eyepatch! And I got an extra toy gun with this set, I believe.

And here is an overview of the set:

And close-ups of the fort and the loaded ship:

Another highly detailed set with a surprising number of pieces! Storing the pieces of this one is very convenient, as nothing has to be taken apart to fit in the box. One thing I wish they had done differently, though, I wish the pirates and redcoats could stick to the ship and to the fort, as these pieces are not magnetic on their top sides, so the pieces slide around. Other than that, I love this set!

When this micro-set was first released, I thought we were gonna getting a set including that pirate/fortress-island (which didn't happen   :'( ), because the little ship is a micro-version of the 3940, and the other micro-sets also contain micro-buildings or -ships (Noah's Ark) that refer to real sets.

I use the micro-3940 as a "modelship" for on a desk or in a display-cabinet inside an Admiral's house.  :)

I assumed it to be taken from this: http://playmodb.org/setpics/4007.jpg Though I guess to scale, it's considerably bigger.

Yeah, I guess it is now that I look at it. I don't have that set, have never been all that interested in it. I'm looking forward to the new pirate series!
