Title: 5965 Summer Fun
Post by: Rasputin on March 27, 2012, 19:21:27
So I went to TRU and due to the 40% off sale not being available I could not leave empty handed. This $20 little set stood out. It is the newer compact SUV with the personal water craft or wave runner or ?

Box front
Perhaps all the background speculation we all do is causing plamo to blur everything out now
The one thing I do not like is the "®" on the last "l" in playmobil

Inside
The box again is totally over sized. It could have been one third the size but shopping physiology seem to dictate a box size compared to price  ::)

Bags
With the extra room in the box parts can get banged up but this set has seperate bags.

The contents
Normal amount of accessories for such a set. Oh I love the smell of new playmobil in the afternoon.

The boat
I had a problem getting the thing together and had to use a tool to seperate it. I scratched the plastic and it may be noticeable. The locking tabs really work.

The SUV
I really like this newer vehicle. It is small but useful. It has independent suspension and very pretty in white. It has been making the theme rounds.

All put together

I have an older waverunner and was happy with the way this little set looks. Its summer theme is well represented

Klickies
The man and woman look ok, I prefer no logos or boat prints on them and think they would look so much better with out them

Complaints
The boat does not seat two. There is nothing funner that scaring your sweet heart as she clings tightly to you

That vehicle isn't bad, Rasputin. The figures do seem a little over-printed like you said, but a lot of the modern theme seems like that to me. That is quite a shame about the giant boxes though; that really ought to be resolved. Buying a smaller box that feels full always gives a better feeling than buying a big box with stuff flying around inside of it. Denk an die Umwelt, Playmobil! Nice review! ;)

Excellent review, Ras, of a nice set.  Would you post the part numbers for the 4x4, please, as I see a possible small ambulance custom coming on!

It's a question of modern logistics and standardised sizes of packaging.

I like the female klickie, but the male dude looks like a total dork in that shirt.  :P

I do not know why this picture did not show up but I like the particular angle and how it looks. The other angles make the window and roof area seem bigger and out of proportion

Great review. I really like this set, especially the SUV in white.

But what's this 40% off sale you are referring to?

I think they look great but I just do not like the boat on him and the flower thingy on her.

Thanks for the review of this set, Ras! Very nice.

sure, I forgot how much I like sharing reviews. Makes me want more of the same set

You're right. That angle looks much better. That vehicle looks quite strange from more "normal" angles.

Thanks for the review.. I really like the car...

(agree about the boxes size... in most you can fit the set 3 times. It's BEYOND ridiculous)
