I think the originals were because they came with the Jungle theme but some are based on African tribes. The really long shield looks Zulu but the long robes are more Massai. Zebras obviously come from central-south Africa. The long hair on these ones are South American but might be useful for Beja too. Not sure if generic tribal people is better than more specific but I guess it removes any political dimension from play having generic ones.

Obviously the guy with the long shield is African, I should have made it clear that I was drawing a distinction between him and the other tribesmen, who are all clearly from the same culture, and yes meant to be South American as per the Jungle theme, as Raiders of the Lost Ark's opening scene was in a South American jungle. Whereas the African guy is meant to be in the Safari theme, along with 7460 and 7459

I like the shield - I believe there is a matching Burnham one..
