from pevious discusions on playmofriends no one knows the answer how the old small sets where sealed before being glued...
i was surfing on google and accidently i found this pic :
so i believe the small sets were sealed as the big ones whith shrinkwrapping ,although i've never seen a small set shrinkwraped on ebay only once the red 70's carriage what do you think? other opinions about it?

difficult question this one Alex... eeerrrr.. i dont know to be honest .... ??? ??? ??? :( :( :(
-
well... I don't understand this very well.... but the boxes CAN'T be sealed before glueing them. And what would be the point of it? :hmm:
On the other hand I have never seen a small box sealed in plastic. I thought only big boxes were.
-
I don't remember the small boxes ever being shrink-wrapped in the UK.
The contents were sealed in plastic bags inside the box but the boxes could be opened if you wished.
Hope that helps,
Claire

ahhh gaston the 70's and early 80's sets were closing as a folder and you could open and close the box again...(that's why i ask how they were sealed ;) after mid 80's they started using glue
hope the picture helps (i coulden't find a better one that shows how the box opens :-\

really ? :hmm: :hmm: that is weird ,someone could open it to take one bag ,and the one who buys it will get an incomplete set

ooh ok now I understand what you meant...here they were closed with transparent tape. You couldn't take the contents without braking the tape or the box.
-
In the 70s and 80s they were folders on the sides and taped . :o

i've seen boxes with tapes but i think people added them after because not all boxes have tapes on them...

Change is always fun. I am considering changing my avatar to the klicky I am playing with all the time these days, but am a little uncertain about it. Now, what is it that you are leaning up against in your avatar picture? Sorry.... I don't mean to get off topic. It is an enigma to me :-[

The boxes in the 70's and 80's were not sealed off with glue, plastic or tape before delivery to the shops. Reason some were/are sealed with tape; that was often done by the shop-owners/retailers themselves to prevent kids from stealing pieces from the boxes.
