Today was the weekly inventory on the heavy rescue so what better time to take picture of all the equipment it carries. ;D
First, I'll start with a little background information on the truck. The Squad responds to all working fires in the city and township of Playmobil as the designated RIT company (rescue possible downed firefighters), to all technical rescues (water, collapse, highangle, elevator, etc), all haz-mat incidents, and all motor vehicle crashes with entrapment.
Now to the truck...
I've finally added numbers and stuff to the sides to make it match the rest of the fleet.
-
Now all the stuff...
Compartment 1 carries the cribbing load - 2x4's and a sledge hammer
The cribbing is used to stabilize vehicles involved in wrecks.
-
Compartment 2 -
Rescue Jacks
Spare SCBA cylinders
Airbag and lifting equipment ( thanks to Tim W )
More Cribbing
Oil Dry
I also have compressed air cylinders mounted in this compartment.
-
Compartment 3 -
The reason I had to put lead weight in the front of the truck... No really, I did.
Way to many tools.
Stokes basket
Rope rescue gear
Hose and hydrant equipment
Cutting tools
Shovels
-
Compartment 4 -
The extrication gear
Chainsaw
Spreaders
Cutters
Scene lighting
The rear of the truck is also equipped with reflective tape for high visibility at night.
-
Compartment 5 -
Airpacks (SCBA)
Cutting torch
Hazmat Equipment
Toolbox
Watercan
Broom
-
Compartment 6 -
Fuel Cans
Generator for scene lighting
Airbags
Wheeled Extinguisher
Caution cones
-
Compartment 7 -
Just some tools.
-
The cab also has some stuff mounted in it. On the dash the officer has a mobil data terminal to keep up to date with the latest info on the run or where the unit is going. A flashlight and phone are also mounted in the cab. Behind the officer's side door there are also some tools for easy access.
And if anyone was wondering, fleet services can still work on the engine.

I'm sorry that I missed this topic earlier, FireChief! I'm really impressed with your design of the rescue 3 vehicle, & the equipment allocation is first class :)9! There are definite similarities to the new 4821 fire engine to come out soon, as if Playmobil copied your design !

Beautiful vehicle Ben and the equipment and stowage is first-rate! I love to see how organized and carefully stored the gear is, it really makes you appreciate what the vehicle is capable of. Thank you for the photos.

Hello Ben,
Sorry for the late reply to your thread :-[. I have allways been impressed with your custom rescue trucks. You have been able to achieve something that I have failed at myself, finding the ultimate tool box on wheel's. I am very impressed with how you are able to fit all the tools on board ! Just remember Ben, you can NEVER have too many tools ;D .
