OH MY! It's like a candy store!! :(o): :(o): :(o): :(o):
-
Oh what a beautiful sight!!! :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: The add-ons display made me drool! And the fanware and shields and such. Loved the eye of the dinosaur thing, too.
-
Looks wonderfull, they seem to have everything there. A shame they didnt show that western display though. Big western clickies and a bit of the video screen, but not the display. :(
-
What a great tour!!! Thank you for this video!!! :wow:
-
oh so many sets that are so hard to get here in the US, I noticed the red train oil tank car and so many more...There are not only so many diffrent sets but so many of each one. In stores around here they will have one or two of a given set, in there they seem to have a whole shelf unit dedicated to each set.
Thanks klicky Klong for making the video and sharing the link
-
Amazing!!!! I could stay there for a week and just watching all these sets.
Many thanks for the video.
George.

Big fat lot of good it does, in Zirndorf. They should have stores like this in every major city including NY, London and so on ...
-
that is so AWESOME :o
I love it when you can grab different loose sets without boxes at a store
-
Thanks for the tour, great video! I love the shelves full of DS sets.
-
:o Sweet, very well layed out looking store and a good choice as you'd hope like the fact that they've got the caps and shields and stuff and all those giant Klickies  very nice
-
Nice video! ;)

I am glad you guys liked the tour :hatoff:

Fortunately, I noticed it before leaving the shop and I got this addendum few minutes later:

Loved the tour :D
I'll simply have to go there at some point, but it just seems such a long trip (we'd probably have to stay overnight) to visit... a store :-[
Can anyone confirm that the Funpark store in France also sells all the add-ons?
-
I cannot say about france specifically, but I would guess so... the "Funstore" the used to have in New Jersey sold everything in the catalog, everything in the add-ons, and then some... so I think it is standard for their stores.
-
Nice tour thanks!
Why isn't there such a shop in the Netherlands ???? >:( ??? :-\

Ohhh goodie, that's a good idea for our next short trip out. I'll take my wife to a nice hotel and then, "oh dear look, a PM-shop :o what a surprise" :P :P :P :P
When we go there, i'll be sure to create a shoppinglist topic here on the forums for you guys ;)

The one in Malta doesn't. It has all the current range, and then some 12 random sets from the DS catalogue, but hardly everything. I once asked them why didn't they stock the whole DS range but never got a reply. PM Malta: not really into customer feedback, that bunch.

Thanks. :) Thats a really nice display, they positioned the clickies in a fun way. Whoever made it really knew what he/she was doing.
-
The crew in the Deko department designs all the displays, both the ones at the Funpark and those they send out to shops around the world. Complex ones are made in Zirndorf, simpler ones get farmed out to people who work from home. Thanks for the video, they change the displays with the new themes. It's a great shop. I went shopping there 5 times in two days :D
At the very end of the main video you can see next to the counter on the left a rack where they keep the baby dinos in eggs and the assortment bags from the shell game, the little Funpark exclusive stuff is all in that section.

holidays in germany! simple :lol

Thanks for the pics... I NEED to go there.
Anyone interested?
Though it's probably better during classes in the summer...
And.. IS there a playmothemed hotel at the funpark? Anyone knows for sure?
-
Yes there is the Playmobil Aparthotel. Pictures of my room when I stayed there are at http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=8366.msg151934#msg154398 (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=8366.msg151934#msg154398)

Ah, thanks!
Is there a link for reservations? To look at availability and prices.. Somehow I'm having a hard time finding that...
Hope there's a post office near. Is there? >:D

It's not cheap, the rooms are big and it would make sense for one or two people to share with you perhaps.

You do get a nice breakfast across the street at the HOB center included though

yes! then they could exasperate themselves with their sales terms.

Thanks - will need to look at it better when the time comes..
.. at a glance it does look expensive (but with value, right? ;) ), and all in german.. Oh well.. Anyways, it would have to be more summerish and during classes.

Another option is to stay in the beautiful City of Nuremberg (more hotels and many interesting places to visit). From downtown it's possible to take the public transport (S Bahn and Bus). You will be in front of the FunPark in 25 minutes.
Leaving the Anwanden train station...

Thanks VicKlicktor :)
So, how long does it take to see everything (except for the store)?
I would say a couple of days, no? ;)
-
I'm seriously considering going on the last weekend of the month. My wife's into Christmas markets, and they probably have a reasonable one in Nuremberg (last xmas we went to Baden Baden, which was fantastic). From Brussels, flights and trains are pretty much the same, price-wise, with the difference being that the train trip's around 6-7 hrs and the flights only a couple (with 1 stop-over). One day going round Nuremberg cause I've never been, and the Fun Park a morning or an afternoon. I'm not really interested in the rides etc; I only want to go there to buy stuff from the shop. Either way, if what VK said is true re transport, makes more sense to stay in Nuremberg unless you have children or have an unsuppressable klicky fetish. The hotels are probably better and there would be more variety, entertainment-wise, in the evenings.

I admit to the latter. As for the first, the farther the better. :P
-
The park seems to be well guarded. :)

To visit the shop is OK. For those of you interested in the outdoor area keep in mind during winter season this area is closed:

I would say a full day during summer including the shop (9:00-19:00) is good enough for adults. For children, as many days as they resist

I think I'll side with the kids on that one... :-[ Do the people there speak english?
-
The Funpark is very much designed for active kids play, lots of things to climb on etc. For an adult one day is plenty to see the park area. There aren't any mechanical rides like a carnival, just things to do and a lot of water play. Staff all seem to speak English fine.
Nuremberg should have a great Christmas Market, the area is known for toys and Christmas decorations. I spent 5 days in Nuremberg and didn't quite see everything. There are two toy museums, the main one and then one that's part of the Germanisches Nationalmuseum. Neither has Playmobil, but lots of great toy animals and dollhouse stuff. You can go up in the tower of the castle for a great view.
My photo set of the Funpark, shop and factory pictures is at http://www.flickr.com/photos/71879015@N00/sets/72157627780021984/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/71879015@N00/sets/72157627780021984/), and my Germany set which includes the Funpark etc photos plus Nuremberg, the Germanisches toy museum and the Tierpark is at http://www.flickr.com/photos/71879015@N00/sets/72157626716096693/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/71879015@N00/sets/72157626716096693/)

that shop is huge :o it almost as big as the convention center
-
Nice pictures! I bought an awful lot of PM from ebay lately, and I wasn't planning this, but if I do go I will end up buying all the new buildings I don't yet have - that's at least 3 main bldgs and lots of klicky sets. Mmm. Not to mention the fact that I also wanted to get the Lego Death Star (around 399 euro ...), and the new diecast DX Mazinger (another 400 or so). ::) ::) ::) Will see ...

Well.. as long as they don't discriminate regarding "kids" age... I'm good. :P
