Just another police set from my last purchases...this had a little surprise in it ;)
-
And once more, no protective material around the major part... attachment 1
As a result of that, the base for the rescue line mount was a bit out of its place... too much shaking of the box, moving around etc could result in more trouble for this part... attachment 2
You can see the line wheel under this base...and the hook that ends at the line. The line can be used for lifting or lowering a person at a designated area attachment 3!!!
-
And now for the surprise....
Notice any difference between the pilot on the box and the actual klicky pilot? attachment 1 :o
Yes this 4267 set had the 4266 - Polizeihubscrauber (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4266) klickies in it 8}
The german police insignia is visible on their uniforms too!!! attachment 2
-
The stickers here are a bit tricky... I had a really hard time with placing the map sticker on the map card... attachment 1
..and the cockpit/windshield sticker was not easy either...you have to be extra carefull how you place it on the curvy surface!!! attachment 2
the instruments stickers are the easier to place!!! attachment 3 Still, i wish playmobil would make more colourful and detailed cockpits!! It would be nice to have a coloured console in there with lots of pretty lights ;D...
-
I have no experience with playmobil helicopters, apart from the older, first editions like 3144 police helicopter or the yellow rescue helicopter, so I relly don't know if the rotor pin with the whole is new or not... attachment 1... this is actually present so you can tie a string and hang the helicopter from the ceiling!!!! very nice touch!!!
The tail rotor blade and pin are very similar to the older helicopters... attachment 2
...and finally, the megaphone and searchlight equipment in front of the skids make a great addition to this crime fighting unit ;) attachment 3
-
Overall, a very well and carefully designed model!!! Appart form mixing up the klickies....
I had a picture of the helicopter hang from the rotor pin, and the officer hanging from the line but there was too much turbulence to keep a steady hand and the picture came out very shaken...I'll try to shoot it again later and show you!
Hope you enjoyed this review!!! P)

Thanks for the review, Panos. It looks a nice set.

Thank you for the excellent review Panos! Does anyone know if any of the new helicopter series are colored blue & white instead of blue & silver ????

Well the 3908 - Police Helicopter (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3908) is white with blue stripes...but I guess you mean if there is a latest one being blue with white stripes, right?

Yes :yup:! I have several of the original 3908 type, but I like the new series, & blue & silver isn't going to work for me .

i was thinking of getting one of these and you just made up my mind

Excellent review, Panos. Maybe too excellent-- now Chris wants one!
-
Great review - I used to own the yellow heli as a kid. I would have loved this one. It's not my theme, unfortunately. Id better stick to knights and pirates, what with the limited space available here. ;D
-
Great review Sir Wolf, and the klickies are an interesting surprise!! Will you get them replaced by DS?
Bonnie, could you please look the other way...

Don't think so Gis...although it would be a good thing to put our DS in motion and see how helpfull they can get!

Panos you never bought in the Greek DS? How come?

Well, you can get everything they have in the regular Playmodil Helllas DS catalogue, and I have bought from it many many times, even visited the Athens funpark too, but Playmobil Hellas DS does not accept any orders of any spare parts at any quantity (so ebay is the only option for me and playmofire's tremendous help with orders from DS UK)... I know Playmobil Hellas DS are willing to replace a damaged or misplaced part but have not tried to use this service yet...
