Bell for Display - Suggestions?
« on: December 21, 2016, 18:07:59 »
Hello all -

What would you suggest I use for a small bell for a Santa klicky to hold in one hand?

Why am I asking? I'm creating a Polar Express display, and trying to figure out what to do for the bell (the boy asks for one as the first gift of Christmas).

Was thinking a spoon with the curved side facing outwards (Santa holds it with arm outstretched upwards). Ransacking through my collections looking for suitable ideas and thought I would ask here too!

So, ideas?

Well, the Western schoolhouse had a hand bell as part of it, so maybe that was also part of the recently released version.

If not, there are bells in the pirate theme and other themes (e.g. knights) which might be usable.

Smoothing down one of the "Maces" from the knights theme could work as well.  you'd have to trim down the handle as well.  That's the best that I can think of for the dangling bell.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one :)

No hand bell in the DS set, only came with the school, seats, podium and chalk board.

The gavel is making a comeback but whether the bell does remains to be seen. It would be a useful accessory to have.

Maybe keep an eye out for tiny bells on Christmas decorations.

Craft store? I'm not sure they would be tiny enough.

Would this plunger with the red part coloured gold or silver pass as a bell?

It's available in quite a few sets.
