The car is definetly different from existing ones... Dang it. I might HAVE to get it. :-[

And I am SO CURIOUS about the bald head.. The klickys are all very interesting - except Bond.

Now... where's the A-Team?  (they were supposed to be released at the same time, no? Sep?)

I'm here for the hat-compatible bald head more than anything else, to be honest – it was about time!

I wonder if Odd Job isn't simply sporting some kind of hat adapter that snaps on top of his head similar to the one they've done for Scooby Doo.

2021 sure is exciting.

If that were the case, it'd be momentous – hopefully the adapter would have its own DS part number.

Yes :( Not a real bald head.

I assume it's a new type of "hair", which means you can put it on other klicky heads an create the illusion that a bald klicky is wearing a hat or a hood, could be nice for a custom Monk for example, so far you always had to use a hair piece.

I suppose so, but (and I know I am being picky  :-[ ) then it should be skin colored....  imo... :P

No monks wanted here, but I have plans for at least one on hold for it, if it looks good :)

(assuming we can get those...)

It's a very nice looking set and I approve of there being four figures included. It's a shame they didn't include a skintone piece to complete Oddjob's bald head. White spats available as spares will be useful.

I might be mistaken, but couldn't a similar piece be engineered by taking a hacksaw to a normal hair piece? Keeping only the top part so that it grips on the head and doesn't show beneath a hat?

You could also use the Scooby Doo hat rubber pieces, just shove them into the head, maybe a little trim and there you go.

Looks like a great set, can’t wait to add it to our collection. The only thing is can’t really use it multiple times as it’s such a rare unique vehicle in real life it would look odd if  there were a dozen of them in a diorama . Might have to get a few anyways, just because it’s so beautiful

Pretty spectacular.

Wish they had included Pussy Galore instead of one of the henchmen. And they really need to design some more-visually pleasing hairpieces - Bond’s looks even worse than SC’s toupee.

I haven't seen the Oddjob klicky myself, but according to Catchet (via SonParaMiHijo) on klickywelt (https://klickywelt.de/viewtopic.php?f=15&p=1131290#p1131290), his "hair" (the black skullcap thing) is non-removable. that is a shame!

Non-removable? So is the head and hair molded together ?
Title: Re: James Bond 007-Aston Martin.
Post by: GrahamB on October 21, 2021, 08:22:59
It's possible the Oddjob head and the skullcap have internal molding which are easy to snap together, but hard to separate. Geobra have used this before, possibly with keychain figures, as in the example below:

I didn't remember that, though I still think the hat is not playmobil... But of course, I don't know ;)

I finally received my set. It's fantastic! At first, I thought that Bond had the same torso print as Rex Dasher, but there's a few differences.
The car is clearly the star of the set. Great details and so many fun features and only 6 stickers, yay!

Looking again at the link I quoted, it's not a good example because I'm not sure that hat is PM. But there are examples of klicky heads like that one, which grip the hair. I will try to find an example.

I have an odd fixed-wrist klicky on my hands....

I attach some pictures of the head. Moulded, but in an odd shape. There is no hole at the bottom of the skull, so presumably no keychain klicky. It is a fine, sturdy figure, probably not a reconfigured custom. I think I have seen this only once. Any thoughts about the head?

Best wishes
StJohn

I think StJohn's pictures show a head designed to grip the hairpiece more tightly than a normal head, perhaps because it was planned for use on a keychain. Heads of this type are not common, but the hair is very hard to remove, so there may be more of them about than we realise. One I discovered when wrestling with a klicky, I was convinced the hair was glued on, but when I eventually got it off, it had the gripping arrangements shown in StJohn's excellent pictures.

I mention all this because I wonder if Oddjob's 'underhat' is held on in a similar way. Mind you, if I do get the klicky, I'm not sure I will want to risk damaging it by removing the underhat.

Ah, I believe I got one of those too...

It would be useful if the bald "hair" was removable...

I have a few Oddjob klickies. The black piece on the head is removable and it does fit on other klickies´ heads.
But the head from Oddjob is smaller (less high) then normal heads, about 2/3 I would say.

The 'hairpiece' from Oddjob does fit on regular heads, but to create a 'clean' bald-looking effect (but with a hat on top) one should use an old klicky (from the 70s or 80s) that comes without the side-provisions to hold beards, witch-noses, glasses and such. (Of course unless  beards, noses or glasses are desired).

With some 'regular' hairs, Oddjob looks quite weird because of his small/low head.

I took a few pics but can´t post them here because even after resizing they are much more then the allowed 100 kB limit.  :-\
And I don´t use hosting-platforms. (Those disappear or become paying sooner or later.)
So I´ll put them on my FB profile-page, that might help some of you.

Don't like the printed collar on Oddjob but otherwise a wonderful set. Nice detail with Rex having the lower button of his jacket undone suggesting he's a bit more carefree.
