Yes, these golden pieces do really exist. My brother had this set when we were kids.

We have that set too, and he does have those things.  A bit on the ridiculous side..

I even think I saw them about on the bag with a bunch of wrist cuffs and footwear..  Pics only on the weekend, most likely..

I have them too and they're actually quite accurate I think; some officer's / gentlemen had such things (don't know the right name for them) on their shoes in that era (I've seen it in old movies and books  ;D).

Throwing them away's a bit of an overreaction :P

This is one of the least attractive klickies ever produced as far as I'm concerned, and doesn't go that well with the redcoats. Still I wouldve like the golden things to be included with the DS figure.

They are called Spats, the Dracula special had those purple ones I know. PlaymoDb shows 3 others, and there are probably a few others out there as well.

Those are not the same shoe-covers, Tim.
The Dracula-special (and the Sherlock Holmes special) had the same "spats" as several klickies from the Victorian sets, but the ones from the Redcoat Officer are a different design and are unique to this klicky.
