HI Syl, they are cute indeed but I don't think they are new. I have seen them for at least a year.  :)

My avatar is there in the caucasian family (with brown hair) and I've had her for a few years.

  Hi Syl,
I think one of the things I like most about this group is that I am always learning about something in the playmobil world that is new (or new to me!)  Someone is always sharing a set or figure that I have never seen before.  Everything old is new again!

So sorry. I really thought that they were new.

I hope you can foregive for wasting 5 minutes of your lifetime. :sorrow:

no need to apologize, syl - we all miss things, no big deal :)9

i have the the Kivu and Wong families - they were a great addition to the not-so-ethnically-diverse playmobil world. It's cool to have easy access to oriental kids with this add-on (current children figures are so much easy to take apart for cutomizations than older ones)

PS With no intention of unfolding a polemic subjetc here: unlike Playmobil US / UK, I think it was very smart of PM Germany to classify this families by surnames rather than by geographic location...that's more potitically correct to me.

I don't mind syl ... if fact I would like to know in which year my avatar figure was first produced!

I wouldn't say it's PC, it's just smarter: we live in a globalized world.

you are right, of course, luis.
what makes you think they have different nationalities syl? maybe they could all be german, born and raised.

there is no easy way to say what goes though my mind whenever i see these sets again.
of course they are cute but i am amazed that playmobil decided to re-lauch them.
how can they be so naive about the world that surrounds them?
maybe if someone would would suggest that they could also - in spite of the cost of new head molds - produce a "mayer" family they would realize that this "ethnic" id3ea is not that great.

as i've said, i have to agree that these sets are cute.
if i wasn't a solo-pirate fan i think i would buy all of them so and mix all the figures to create new families.

most body pieces come from other sets, cachalote - but i think the girl from the Kivu family and the boy from the Janssens are original? :) (at least the torsos seem to be brand new designs to me)

Thanks for reminding me that I still need to order the Asian family from DS-
Are there any other Asian children in standard sets?
Cheers!

Yes, but since the smaller school isn't inventoried, he would have missed that one. That's why it never hurts to ask!

Coyote, if you need the part number, I can find it for you.
