What if....
« on: April 13, 2020, 01:15:49 »
...Playmofriends had a new creative challenge thread? We're about to find out! I miss the old monthly challenge contest so this is a move to emulate it, without the voting or the prizes! The laughs remain though!

The rules for this thread are:

  • Combine two Playmobil elements that are not normally seen together
  • Take a picture of the result
  • Add a title or description that contextualizes the combination
  • Post the result for big smiles!

If that's not clear, the subsequent posts should elucidate the intention properly!

Please join in and enjoy!

Haydn Sikh
At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)

That one took me a sec to get. Helps if you are a native English speaker as it's wordplay.

Only now that you pointed this out did I manage to get it! That was brilliant, GrahamB.

Thank you. Being Austrian, Joseph Haydn would probably have pronounced his name 'High-dn' (not 'Hey-dn') which means the wordplay works, but only if you are familiar with the game 'Hide and Seek', which isn't referenced in the picture. Perhaps I should have included my Mozart figure, with Haydn hidin' behind the piano.

Masterful, Graham!

Graham's sophisticated punning reminds me that I should emphasize this: the criteria are extremely loose! You can do a complex joke with an elaborate layout...or you can just have a squirrel and a duck saying hello to each other! Anyone can participate, it's not a contest, it's fun! The only hard rules are 1) two rarely juxtaposed elements (rarely by whatever standard you like), and 2) StJohn may not mix Safari and Jungle klickies!

I was wondering if the Roman robot picture would be funnier from the other side:
