At least that's what i think anyway.

Look at this poster, it's on the other side of the instruction sheet 3551 fishing trawler.
Not my best shot ever, but i thought you all just had to see this.

Thank you Rob and Philippe for a bit of nostalgia and a little trip down memory lane ... :)

Those were indeed the "Golden Days" of Playmobil. I love the new sets, but I really do miss the simplicity of those first few Klicky years. There is something almost mystical about those two illustrations from Rob and Philippe. Thanks again to both of you for sharing something very special with all of us.

Thanks for the posters.  As Richard says, there is a certain simplicity (even innocence) about those early sets and their publicity.

Does anyone else has a poster like these ones, i would like to see if there are more!

Did you know that the bottom half of the fishing trawler had to be coloured in by hand??
I always thought that i came right out of the box in two colours.

Yes, it did have to be coloured, Rob ...

The fishing trawler set came with a giant paint pen, so that the bottom half could be coloured by hand. I was a bit reluctant to colour mine, but I finally gave in and did it. (That was many years ago.) ... :)

When I return to our Summer home in Canada this Spring, I'll look to see what posters I have. (I like the line drawings much better than the photos.)

this is a beautiful poster from a beautiful set.
some time ago i decided that this was a ship i would want to have.
i have hesitated so many times on the bids that i have end up with nothing.
now the prices are going so wild i think i will never have it.
the drawings that come with these sets are beautiful - very much the "ligne claire" invented by hergé.
i tend to use the same language in my projects (i am an architect) instead of 3-d hyper realistic presentations.
playmobil is now going away  from these days and entering the "photoshop" world.
i have been there and decided the way was not the best.
in portuguese drawing is written "desenho" - a word form the same family as "desígnio" (design) and "desejo" (desire).
in my experience drawings have an unique "magic" power.
maybe someday playmobil will understand this.

I'd never seen illustrated ones like this before! Thank you both for sharing them.

I love the style of drawing. It's very precise - exactly the level of quality you would expect from Playmobil. :yup:
