« on: September 29, 2008, 08:38:21 »
I'm sooooo excited and wanted to share the news with others who I hoped might understand why.....

I have just bought my 1000th Playmobil set     (4085 freight train)   ;D
I wish I lived in Germany!

Congratulations .

1000  8} ?

I never thought about counting mine but I think I'm far from that.

Did you number them? Counting specials and everything? Have you got a list / excel ?

It would be interesting if you told us how you kept track of the first 999  ;) .

Congratulations again on set 1000. The train set looks neat. Luckily I'm not into trains as most sets are quite expensive.

Like Playmofool, I never even considered counting mine.

Do you count duplicates? How many years of collecting, and how many themes does this represent?

First of all -

CONGRATULATIONSI think

Secondly; I hate to think how much I have.
Even my oldest son (a five year old) agreed with his mum when we were discussing the amount of Playmo I've got. They both agreed that "too much" was the best description  :'(  :-[

... and then dusk came and brought despair.

Children are sooooo lucky to have play dates  :hmm:! Just think, if we collectors could get together with our collections....... :cloud9:?! Of course we may have to rent a VERY LARGE warehouse to set everything up, & then there's the "WHERE" factor so everyone here @ Playmofriends could attend  ;).........,the transport costs, insurance, labeling all our stuff with our names so it wouldn't get mixed up ........ oh well,..... just a dream  :-[! Or is it  :toot:?
Forget about all of the other stuff,....all we need is the reintroduction of the 3526 Fire Engine!

Considering the distances we live apart and the sizes of some of the collections - it is  :'(
But it is a (very) nice dream though .

beside, there are the smaller versions of that in existance: the Wolfsburg meeting for instance  ;)

The problem with this is, there are many more Playmobil collectors in Europe, & abroad than here in the US. Even if we could start a collectors gathering here, it would not be as dedicated as in those places  :'(.
