Title: Leaked (?) ghostbusters photos
Post by: tonguello on October 25, 2016, 19:27:23
I've seen them on facebook.
And I don't know yet if they are leaked, confidential or not.  :-\
Can someone confirm?

Thanks!

Assuming these are real....

I am still slightly uncomfortable with them doing licensed stuff, but I think this is much better than the Super4 stuff, and it all looks pretty good.

We got the firestation, which I *did* want, but I'll want to see it in more detail. I've often wondered what 'red brick' Playmobil would look like, so I sort of need to get used to it - I've often wondered if it would look un-Playmobil to me, and it does a bit. But I think with some alterations it could make an excellent Victorian shop (making the wild and probably incorrect assumption that it has solid floors!). But anyway it'll give some great variety to street scenes.

Thanks tonguello! Pictures look bona fide. Whether they have been leaked I don't know but, if so, the perpetrator left his name.

Very nice stuff, with lots of other applications - I see a nice Cerberus for Greek scenes! The building is nice looking too. Presumably as inflexible as Ruby's pirate house but that is what one should expect these days. Great stuff nonetheless.

Thanks again & best wishes

I like them, real or not. The ectomobile looks way too big though and would not fit through the door in that Base.

I think that is just an affect of the ilustration. The clickies look tiny, so your eyes go to the car  8-)
Same with the Marshmallow guy, it looks HUGE! I don't think it will be THAT actual size difference between him and a regular clicky
.

Which Klicky is supposed to look like Bill Murray?

Good find, tonguello!  ;D

Klickys have gorgeous colors!

That green goo thing (looks horrid) is on their new video - also the "base", and the car's end can be seen there...

What's with the green gunk all over the sets?!

More important, are those new speedo legs?!  (had to be the LARGE set :(  - as the woman, had to be the car :( )

And those beasties... Gods.    Want.

And is that a "floating" klicky on the side of the base? Can't make him out too well.

I think that is just an affect of the ilustration. The clickies look tiny, so your eyes go to the car  8-)
Same with the Marshmallow guy, it looks HUGE! I don't think it will be THAT actual size difference between him and a regular clicky.

I think it looks plain weird...

I wonder if the michelin man is a hunk of plastic like the colossus on Super 4...

And the base is probably system WHY, right? My wallet started praying to all the gods that it is so.

Thanks, tonguello!

I didn't think I would be interested in these sets, but  . . . now I am.   ;D

I don't usually look at Playmobil's facebook page but this thread prompted me to go have a look - there is a cute Halloween video with a Ghostbusters theme that they posted this afternoon - check it out:   Playmobil's Facebook page  (https://www.facebook.com/Playmobil/)

Did you watch the movie?
The green slime is from Sticky, the green ghost.
I DO hope the Marshmallow man is articulated!!!!  8-)
There is a clicky on the side of the building but I can't figure out what it is exactly. A monster/ghost thing....
I think these ARE real  :)

Green Ghost= Slimer (not Sticky)

Stay Puff Marshmallow Man, I agree and hope he is articulated!

It's the scene with the hellhounds from the original movie.

I did watch the movie - like a 100 years ago. I think there was more than one? What I remember most is the song, because the video is AMAZING, what with all the cameos.. and I do catch it on occasion.

I know there was a green blob and the michelin man (I don't think I had heard of marshmallow then). He thought of the "most harmless thing he could", or something like that.

The movies were not at all memorable for me. My sister says we even watched some cartoons (AGES ago), but I have no recollection of those.  :-[

I think that klicky in the building looks ghostly or something too - and if so, I want him!

The other "ghost" is very very lame. They didn't even bother to change the stupid movement-preventing coat  ::)

It's the scene with the hellhounds from the original movie.

In that case... Hellhounds =     THE best in these sets! And I like the woman's arms! Hope they match in color with other torsos. Not fond of the sleepy look of the klicky, but that is easily fixed if we so decide.

I believe these are real too. Now the really scary part is missing. The price. :0

Oh, and... Opinions on the building? System WHY?

Thanks - saw it too - from some store, that from what I understood, only ships to Germany. These should be forbidden  >:(

Well.. I think we'll need a couple of the Hellhounds   Love the brownish guy (with different head/hair!) from the hotdog, but we have that thing, and I don't think we'd need two of them.

As long as the buidling is system WHY, my wallet can rest :P

This oficially will be presented in next toy fair ... in january, to be launched in may.... how is possible this website not only has the pics but also the prices if the info didn't come from PM?

The ghost on the side of the building is a lady.
Maybe she is supposed to be the lady from the library at the opening of the movie?
Anyway... the head and dress seems to be red transparent plastic.  ;D

And I think marshmellow man is IN FACT just one piece, .... maybe only the head moves.

New sideburns!! The coated ghost has grey-blue hair and sideburns.... I wish they were just grey.

I suppose trade and retail industry are informed well ahead of the fan herds, but so long before the Toy Fair is indeed surprising.

Hellhounds are so cool! Plus, it's the second but one most affordable set. ** Sigh of relief **

I think they are informed at the same time or AFTER the toy fair in fact... This leaked things are a recurrent problem lately....

That series looks fantastic.
As a kid I never had much interest in the Ghostbusters toys, but I will get these for sure.
I was hoping that they would do a headband piece for Ray's goggles, but the police helmet works just as well.

Edit: I'm not sure if the figure shown with the Stay Puff monster is the final one as it doesn't have the same cargo pants as the others and looks more yellow than the others.

I hope that unlike Super 4, we'll get them at the same time as any other countries in Canada.

Just watched the Playmoween YouTube video on the PCC website. 20 seconds in to the video look across the road behind the three kids there's a new style of yellow taxi cab tucked away in the background looks like it's based on the police car 5179 body shape
Title: Re: Leaked (?) ghostbusters photos

yes, there is a taxi set. Same body than the police car.

These look great. For once I am glad they didn't give a preview to PCC. If they had we couldn't talk about it, but since it clearly leaked from some other source here we are. :D
Love them all, the firehouse is probably undersized at that price point, the marshmallow man clearly will be undersized and lacking articulation at a 20 Euro price point. I was really hoping for an XXL figure for that guy. Maybe they will do one someday.

I wonder how the deal works time-wise. Playmobil recently have had an increasing turn-over in terms of re-designing lines, but with a movie tie-in I don't really see how they can. I wonder if it's a fixed term deal.

Hopefully the car fits through the roller door. It would be great if Stay Puft was that size given the original was the size of a house. Maybe they should have gone with an inflatable figure for him and then could have a really big version. As in pool toy size.

Playing off a comment by Pynedor in another thread, but with this Ghostbusters line - I don't see how Toys R Us could possibly not carry the whole thing as soon as they can get their hands on it. It's right up their alley as far as what you see in their stores. Could in the end be a good thing for the development of the US market finally.

The figures look nice and the car/hearse looks very nice but the fact Playmobil is now licensing Playmobil is something of a concern.

There were reasons why the decision had been made never to do that.

After a couple deaths we see things changing very dramatically.

Wow these sets look really cool! I agree it's much better than the Super Four series. I don't know if I'll get them, because they really don't fit in with anything I have. That said, if I spot them on the shelf in the toy store and I'm in the right mood, they might end up at my house all the same  ;D

It's beyond lame that they have started to blow up certain parts of sets in the picture that's on the front of the box. I've been confused before, and it often looks plain weird instead of enticing. But the vehicle looks amazing on its own. They did a great job  8-)

I still don't think licensing  Ghostbusters is a very good idea but I have to admit that I really like the look of the sets. Especially as I already have the ECTO-1 from Lego I will need the PM version as well. Heck, I need all of these sets. I do hope they will sell well. But I wonder whether they will appeal to today's kids.
Title: Re: Leaked (?) ghostbusters photos

Are kids really the target audience on this license? It's more of a retro adult license. Could be they are looking to find the broader market of toy collectors beyond just those of us who specialize in their own lines.
