Bought and "renovated" this 3551 "Susanne" today, the original one-not the trashy Antex one...Complete with box and the sought after poster.
Still one of the prettiest Playmobil boats ever!!! :)
-
Hey!
The Antex one is REALLY good quality, except for the clickies and the threads used.
-
It's indeed the prettiest PM boat

That's what I meant, lol-the Antex klickies are extremely horrible!!! ;)

That's a wonderful boat. And you've rigged it so perfectly too - all the ropes are taut and look so good.

See?! I will need to borrow her! :P

It looks wonderful and the colours have stayed nice and bright.

I have to admit-cause Tahra is on to me, lol!-that the ropes are my wife's work!!!

I hadn't seen the poster before  I LOVE IT!
BTW does anyone know what the S.387 on the side means?

I think the number is meant to represent the naval identity code for the vessel. :)

;D I got that. ;D
I meant to ask if it means something "Playmobil-wise". Like the car plaques that read PM -and the set number.
It's obviously not the case here ... but maybe someone knows something about it ...

According to the THE WEBSITE OF THE MARINERS MAILING LIST. PORT DISTINGUISHING LETTERS (http://www.mariners-l.co.uk/portletters.html), S is either Skagen in Denmark or Skibbereen in Ireland.

Thanks Gordon!
Well, on the box she flies the Danish flag, so she must hail from Skagen! :)

Hi Erik - I realize this thread is from last year, however today I received a 3551 Trawler and found your post. The boat I received looks to have many of the original parts, however I don't have the instructions to compare to. I am wondering if you have a copy that you can 'share' online. I know I won't be able to get the rigging right without them.
Also, I am curious what your restoration of the boat entailed. Mine has some discoloration due to age and the crummy brown paint on the hull. Other than that I am quite happy with its overall condition. I'd like to know what you did to 'spruce' yours up.
Many thanks for any guidance.
Sandra.

Well... the instructions for the riggins is "then do the rigging like in the pics", or something like that :wall:

Exactly!
It drove me INSANE at that moment. There was no other choice than just looking at pics and copying. There are NO instructions for the rigging, and it takes a while to figure things out. :( The trick is to get pics from the web, from every angle.

Now THAT would be useful.. Maybe a fellow playmofriend that has the ship WITH the rigging could make a topic about it? With a boatload of pics?

There was one by Bill Blackhurst long time ago. That's the one I used. And he had sent me several extra pics.
Unfortunately all my collection is in boxes until next december so I can't take pics :'(
