Title: 2006 new rescue sets
Post by: playmofire on January 28, 2006, 21:14:28
Here are links to osme of the new sets in the rettung theme.  There are some others, but there are no pictures for them yet.

The blue light on the ambulance looks new and looks like a working variation of the one on the fire chief's car and is a similar design (I think) to a conversion I am working on of that light.

Nothing new in the fire engine line, but I think next year may see one based on the ambulance and maybe with space for a crew of four.

Hi Gordon!

Your direct links aren't working because they're not complete. If you found them on another forum, it could be that they were abbreviated in the post somehow.

I still found the new sets thanks to your links by going to the home page of the domain (www.flippi.de) and using the side menu.

They're across 2 pages, starting here...

These look really nice! I especially like the incubator for the new born baby. 8-)

Thanks for telling us about them. :)9

Thanks for sorting thungs out, Meg*.

I'd posted the links first on another site and they worked fine there.  Then I copied them to my post on this board. ???

*Ooops! sorry Sylvia.  It was the end of a long and tiring day when I replied.

Hello  Gordon, All  :)9

Thank you for the information on the new sets. I really can't wait for these to come out because they are amazing. I do hope they make a new police car based on the 4223 estate.
I really do think they should look at the fire service theme now and come up with a completley new fire engine rather than using the new Ambulance as a base. Afterall they have shown us they are more than capable of making a very convincing airliner within the price range. Surely now it is time to give us a fire engine to rival the old 3781 Ladder Truck.

Kindest Regards  Tim  :)

I think this is a difference between the software used for each forum. Vbulletin seems to condense very long URLs, so when you paste them into the reply screen they automatically appear in an abbreviated style on the thread's page (note the ellipses). But the full URL you inputted is still stored somewhere in that forum's database so that it works when clicked.

No worries! ;) It might also be due to my avatar, since both Meg and I are using Playmo animals at the moment. :)

On my laptop, meg's avatar is the new DS old style fire engine!  There's something odd with meg (nothing personal, because last week for some time her avatar was a link with a Spanish PM site!

Is it only Meg's avatar that you are having problems with viewing, or have you noticed this on some of the others too?
This is very odd indeed and I'd like to find out what causes it. :eh?:

I checked all members and some did not have avatars (which is probably right) and of those that did, only Meg's was wrong - it had changed again to nothing at all to do with Playmofriends!

I cleared the cache of Firefox and everything's ok now. :)

Hello, Gordon ...

Here's a photo from Zirndorf of the new 2006 Fire and Rescue sets. (The two Klickys on the right with the dogs look very interesting.)

Click on the photo, if you want to see everything else ...

Yes, the search dog team looks very cool! I think the larger dog is the German shepherd from some of the police sets, but the smaller dog is new to me.

Thanks for the pic, Richard.

The whole lot look very good (have I the room fro them?), but the search and rescue dog team I especially like, partly because it'sa bit out of the ordinary.

The estate ambulance also looks good, as does the .......why try and fool mysel, I want them all!

I am very impressed with the new additions to this theme.
Nice colors, etc

2006 is perhaps the best year of new releases in the 32 years that Playmobil has existed.

M

Gordon, I am very sorry that my avatar is giving you problems.
I hope its not because Guinea pigs like to chew on cables.  :P

It was a problem with my browser cache.  Clearing the cache solved it.  No your fault as I'm on a wireless connection so no cable for you to chew. ;D

I think the new vehicles in the rescue theme hit a new high for Playmobil, although I am surprised that the ambulance isn't in yellow as that now has to be the predominant colour for ambulances in the EU.  The "castings" appear much finer and the slidingdoors on the ambulance and helicopter look very good, as does the new style blue light.

Here are some links to the real thing to show the realism of the Playmobil versions.

Yep, that's definitely a new dog. :D

I really love the new helicopter. I agree the styling seems a bit finer on these. I am wondering if there has been a philosophy shift at Playmobil - it seems like for a while they had been doing things more for younger kids - simpler vehicles and so on. A lot of the sets this year seem aimed at a bit older child (or adult collecotr). Definitely a trend I approve of.

Oh, yes, great a new dog!

Although I'm not sure if this is really a shift in target age, because if you have a look over the last 30 years there was a continuously improvement of details in accessories and figures (just to remember the introduction of figure imprints). And for sure this "slow" improvement gives PM a hight potential of releasing more and more sets within the next decades until reaching a full detailed real live model. If one set becomes "outdated" they just release it again, only with a few more details, and they are sure that the target age kids generation (respectively their parents) will buy it and the collectors anyway  ;D
I think this is not only a development that can be recognized in that kind of toys, but also e.g. in computer games: remember the early days with e.g. the Commodore C64 or Amiga computer games; they were quite simple and graphically not very demanding compared to nowadays standards. (Another totally different example is pop music: compare the generalized music from e.g. the 80ies with those hits from today: in a generalized view nowadays you can recognize that music titles have become "multi-layered" or "multi-dimensional" with a little addition here and some further layers there and another effert over there).
So "manufactured" things are going to improve constantly in lifetime.  ;)

Just me  :2c: on a philosophic morning  ;D

I think I would put it as "Manufactured things are going to change constantly in their lifetime" and some of the changes I've come across aren't improvements. ;D

(Just mke in a cynically philosophical mood. ::))
