That is great looking equipment. 2 new trucks and what looks like a garage attached to the fire house . Thanks for the pictures

Oh i am going to have a fun time with these parts making a really great fire station .

The set does look like it is stripped down but luckily it is system X and we get to add to it . That training tower is going to have to be many more stories taller and the big doors are much needed .

I do see the realistic colored chain saw is back and some sort of ventilating fan

The only thing i think is missing is a 2nd rear axil on the truck . That is one heavy truck and it just needs the extra wheels

I'm a little confused  ???! The Picture at the presentation show has what looks to be a new fire engine with multiple compartments. Is that item supposed to be coming out later? It is not shown in the latest product picture, only the new ladder truck is displayed  :-\. BTW Rasputin, I agree with you on the double axle concept, & nice pick up on the new equipment selection! It is very interesting! I would like to see the contents on the back of the new box of what is included :lens:! What's the orange item shown around the firefighters shoulders? All in all a very impressive new collection  :)9!

Not all the new sets sets are in the picture, Bill.
According to the German text, there will be three new fire engines:

So, does this lift your confussion?

In Europe it's common that ladder trucks of this size have one rear axle.
Take a look at this Danish MAN ladder truck (http://www.beredskabsinfo.dk/content/view/368/28/) and this Mercedes-Benz (http://www.beredskabsinfo.dk/content/view/929/28/).

I'm really impressed by this truck - so wonderful  Can't wait to see pictures of support and command vehicles :camera:

Well i guess we know where Playmobil got the design from . The rear axle  on the Mecedies does have dullies to make up for the lack of a second axle . Thanks for the link, those are beautiful work trucks .

Even though the European fire trucks are commonly outfitted with 1 rear axle with dual wheels, I'm not used to Playmobil utilizing that particular option! I am still partial to the 3525, 3781, 3879, & 3182 series Playmobil ladder trucks that have the 2 rear axle option! I am impressed with the new cab design, & roof, however being used on the future releases!

Thanks for pics! Great new stuff, although I not sure if I will get all the sets. The both new large vehicles look great (I think they are a must, although they are quite similiar to already existing ones apart from the new cool roof).
About the headquarter I'm unsure. For sure there are nice details like the garage and the hose tower, but I like more the old headquarter building with red roof parts. So I think I just will enhance my old building by the new cool parts.

A little bit disappointing to me the leading vehicle: I would like more the emergency doctors vehicle to be used instead -- anyway, so another oportunity for a custom car  ;D

And another "miracle" is solved: the helmets of the new theme still will be white; so no need to replace my collection of old (white) ones.

Sadly the pics are so small because the uniform seems to be quite new and different; especially I can't spot what's about the collar of the new dress  ???

I'm unsure about the new releases as yet.  I like the new equipment, e.g. the smoke extractor on the aerial ladder, but I'm disappointed that the roller shutter doors for the equipment lockers used on the 3880 fire engine have not been used on the new ones, just "dummy" ones which lift up.  It is detail like the 3880 roller shutters which lifts Playmobil above its rivals.  Maybe the design was too expensive, or maybe newer designers are at work and haven't the same eye for detail.

Come on Bill , those are fur cozies to keep the fire men all warm on those cold mornings  ;D

I think they are high visibility collars which some German brigades use with the newer uniforms.  I think, too, that the new uniform closely follows, may be the same as, the new Special.

Here's an illustration of what I think the orange "collar" on the new firemen will look like.  I couldn't quickly find an actual photo on the internet, so I've attached a scan of a Ravensburger jigsaw puzzle I have.

I've had a look at the new pictures Andi has posted from the catalogue and I'm getting to like the new range more already!  I especially like the new "accessory" set with the hose ramps (maybe I could take some credit for those as I introduced them with my 3781 revamp some years ago - see here http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=2032.0) and the more realistic hydrant and hydrant key (see attachments below of my own custom from some years ago), and the storage on the new pump is very impressive.  (I guess the hose reel is designed to attach to the rear of it.  It will be interesting to see a rear view of the pump to see if it comes with hose reels and the ones in the other set are extras.) However, it lacks ladders so presumably there will be some additional set with ladders in some time in the future.

Whether or not I'll buy the new pump and turntable ladder will partly depend on the price.  I'm very attached to my brigade based on the 3880 fire engine, so may be I'll just upgrade those with the new equipment.

Ah, ok. Now I know what you mean. -- Strange, because this "collar" seems to be part of the old type of uniform. Looking at the new style -- at least the German ones  (e.g. cf. this one (http://www.floriandiez.de/bilder/flobilder/feuerwehruniform/DSC04760.JPG) from Florian Diez (http://www.floriandiez.de/)) -- they match pretty well the one of Playmobil, but without the collar. Also very strange to me: why does Playmobil release shortly the new fireman special with the new blue but with the old imprints  ??? This figure neither match to the old ones (apart from the imprint style but not the colors) nor to the new ones (vertical light stripes and again white helmets instead of the yellow one from the new special).

[...] and the more realistic hydrant and hydrant key (see attachments below of my own custom from some years ago), [...]

Ok, and here goes another small customized piece not published so far ;), same like with the globe or the swan (idea by Andi); but with the difference that in this case Gordon got the idea and I just customized a variant (cf. pic). As I still was uncertain about how to make a floor piece where those tools fit in (just was thinking about a small cover that can be opened with the tool) this was one of custom pieces of the fire rescue team not published. Anyway more time for other ideas.  ;D

Thank you, pingo.  Here are some photos taken by nehle on Customize it at the toy fair.

The equipment with the pump is extensive and suggests that Playmobil have been paying attention to custom work on the boards.  The first equipment photo shows three lengths of suction hose and a strainer for them, a large and small fire axe, a foam container (with cap), a small power unit with cutting gear attached and behind the suction hose a spreader tool.  All these are new.

Thank you so much Pingo for the new fire equipment close up pictures  :wow:! I really like the new rescue tool pump, with cutter, & spreader. The jerry can now employs a filler opening cap that many of us have already utilized in our custom designs  :yippee:. The hard suction hoses with the screen are a realistic design  <:>! Another design that is new is the on board pump panel with hose inlets, & outlets that is a great step forward in the realistic design area  :)9! I'm looking forward to the new items, & vehicles  :woohoo:!

What is the one thing that looks like a hose real in the picture with the new colored chem suit klicke ( on his upper right )  ? why does it look like a hand cart for hose reals ?

It's common practice the  Continent to have a "soft" low pressure hose reel mounted on the rear of a fire engine.  This can be detached and pulled along on the wheeled frame to connect to a nearby hydrant.  I'll do a search on the web for some photos tomorrow and post them.

With the newly posted pictures showing close up views of the products, it is very evident that Playmobil is favoring a fresh introduction of European designed equipment which has many interesting concepts! I definitely like the variety :yup:!

Uh, what did I discovered here: there is a "Playmobil" imprint on the fireman's back ...  :hmm:
That makes it really difficult to customize the "FEUERWEHR" imprint on the uniform's back as it is with real firemen in Germany.

I really don't like this. What do you think?

I had noticed there was printing on the back but hadn't been able to read it.  I had assumed it might be Feuerwehr, but thought that if it was it was maybe a sticker, with different ones for different countries.  Maybe the Playmobil print is just for the toy fair and they are planning something different for the mass-produced sets.  If not, then, like you, I don't like it.

I notice that there are new swivel chairs in the fire station to go with the control desk.  (I haven't yet worked out how to save 3D images, so I can't show them.) And there is a belt which seems to go either with the breathing apparatus sets or under them.

If not, then it's out with the orange Dymotape or pinstriping from the custom car shop.

It looks really out of place, and I don't think you can remove the name and leave the orange - hopefully this is just for the display and not the production figure.

Luckily I stocked up on all the firemen, women and vehicles I need (far too many actually  ) last year, so no need for me to dip into the latest offerings at all.

I'm sure you're right - if you wipe off the name then you wipe off the orange.

I felt there was no need for me to dip into the latest offerings, other than for new equipment such as the ventilator unit etc, but then again... However, the new fire engines are a fair bit bigger than the old ones and this has implications, not only for storage space but also as regards size of vehicle vis-a-vis size of buildings.

I haven't yet worked out how to save 3D images, so I can't show them.

On MS Windows it's quite easy: press the "Print" button on your keyboard and a snapshot of your complete screen/desktop is transfered into the MS Windows clipboard (with everything that is currently visible). Then just start a painting program (e.g. Paint, Photoshop, GIMP or any other) and insert the clipboard content to it (e.g. with Ctrl-V, but this depends on the imaging software). The you can cut/crop the image from the screensnapshot with built-in function of your imaging software. This works with any content visible on the screen.

As hint you also can use "Alt-Print" for creating a snapshot - this will transfer only the active window to the clipboard (in case you just want a snapshot of the complete current window).
