Good morning dear Friends
I do remember that a few years ago, Sylvia had so beautifully decorated the PF forum with a wonderful Christmas feel and I would so love to see it again this year since the festive period is on its way :cloud9:
Thank you so much for looking into it :)

Um... maybe a bit too early? :elf:
-
Or I could do it gradually...
decorate in stages, I mean
that might be more fun, actually ;)
-
Far too early, imo..
This is ridiculous, but the malls here already have xmas trees since the beginning of the month..

I always preach that the Christmas decorations and stuff as such should start first week in December and not earlier as then the whole Christmas feel and magic loses something by starting too early
However I do have to confess I am eating Christmas sweets, mince pies and drinking some mulled wine already :giggle:
-
I agree with George - decorations from 1st December, please.

Completely agree. This is beynd ridiculous these days...
We were still in tshirts.... and there was xmas stuff all over already!
-
This is exactly my thought, decorations from December 1st please, not now 8}

Keep it traditional guys - Christmas Eve will be when my parents will be putting up the tree (and I'm not joking, despite my ongoing protests as a child)

Oliver's right: Christmas is twelve days long, beginning Christmas Eve.
If you really must be modernistic about it, deccies may go up on the first day of Advent, and not a minute before.

I just love how our opinion varies when it comes to Christmas and its timing :P
I must admit that I totally embraced the Germanic Christmas tradition when I lived in Luxembourg for 3 years with Friends in both Moselle and Alsace in France as well as Germany who taught me that the festive spirit starts on St Nicholas day, December 06th each year. This is the date I would chose to slowly build the Christmas spirit around the house with candle lighting, mulled wine making, ginger bread baking and so on.
I love Sylvia's idea of gradually add little touches from December onwards to bring the Christmas spirit in.

Well, I already added the snowflake background and a couple of “discreet” Xmas smileys on the pop-up
Will be sure not to add too much too soon :)

Am sure it will look lovely Sylvia!

30th of November... exciting! ;D

That's how we do things around here too: We go buy the tree right after St Nicholas day.
