Title: 4875 Top Angets HQ
Post by: Wolf Knight on February 10, 2012, 09:50:57
Ok, someone has been waiting for this for some time now, Gaston  ;D, so here it is...

First, I have to say, I never thought I'd be buying this, but it was my Christmas present to myself, mostly because I have thought of a good project involded around it...

Lots of parts and accessories that kept me busy for two hours...

...new clip ends for the rock formations...

...but mostly the system x clip system is still dominant..

Whoever has the pyramid, this will look familiar...

Its a mechanism that allows for a trap door to be released... very fancy for a kid who can play with this set, because the trapdoor leads to a holding cell...

Constructing the main building, the latest insert, slide and clip system is very dominant...

I won't even attempt to describe the process, but this has given me a hard time... I often placed wall pieces upside down, not understanding why the walls don't fit the slits. Doors would not fit, clips would not clip, and when I did figure out that certain parts need sliding, I felt like putting together an IKEA display case  8} So if you buy this, take a good look at the ends of the walls and the instructions before attempting to throw the set out of the window... ;D

With a little patience, the building is ready, and nothing reminds you of the trouble you had putting it all together

I'll say this for the set! Its very satisfactory when coming to the klickies and assessories.

Here is the HQ Top Agent team

...and the traitor in their midst with the rotating head...

These parts....

turn itno a clever vehicle...

...transformed into a small jet...

...or a submarine...

The laser cannon is also very nice...

...programed by laser disks...

...and controlled by a console...

...nice lighting effect...

...and projectiles whose edge look like a ''Nightbird'' plane...

...but, I did have a hard time placing the radar module on the firing mechanism  :-\ it needs to be pushed hard, and the circular shape makes it difficult to get into position.

As I said, many accessories...

...that can be used in the lounge...

...or in the secret control room...

Best feature here is the screenboard...

...indicating global threats by various lighting patterns...

Looks like a Christmas tree, doesn't it  But is very awesome!!!

The motion detector can be replaced by a simple camera, and the box encourages kids to place the motion detector on their rooms so that they now if they have an intruder

I'll say this for the set, if I was a kid, I'd have a blast with it!!! Living in a technologically advanced age, Playmobil did well with creating a set that can project to the children the technological aspect of their society, in an adventurous form. Something like that will draw them more to playmobil, and not only on computer and video games!

Thanks for reading!!!  :)

A very good review, I bet this set is very expensive though with all the technological bits?

It does look like a very nice set that could also make for a great super villain lair.
Not liking the double faced clicky, but the idea of a double agent is nice. He should have a normal mouth though on both sides.

Thanks for the review Panos! I never realized how awesome this set is! So many neat features.... the hidden control room, the trap door, the motion sensor, the rocks opening so a car can drive in, the jet ski launcher, the light-up control board, the code entry into to the prison cell.... Ok, I'm rehashing the whole review now. But now you've made me want this set!!! :hissyfit:

Great review. I really like the way that sliding glass door looks, but I just don't think it will fit in with regular System X parts in a building?

That is correct Tim, it is only created to fit that perticular construction.

Panos, can you confirm for me that the poster is part number 30 85 4180 (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-85-4180)? Probably printed on it in tiny numbers. The number appeared in the code for the parts-ordering page at www.playmobil.de and I'd like to verify, and add your pic to the part. I have quite a few poster- and catalogue-numbers from that site (in case anyone would want to order them as spares, I suppose!) but few verified with pictures.

4875 (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4875&pics=on) has a lot of parts I've only put in as "TO BE ASSIGNED" with their German names (also from the online parts-ordering page) since I'm pretty mystified as to what to call them. Can anyone fill in some part names for me? Klickies, as well: do they have actual names (from the mini-games or other media) or will I just call them "Agent, (gender, hair colour, clothing)"? Boring!

Awesome set though - more to it than meets the eye from the outside of the box, I think.

Yes, that is the one, Heather! I have not payed attention to the names of the agents to tell the truth, but I will have a look and try to give you some discription for items. Perhaps you need a better pic of the poster?

Forgot to mention...

Behind the strairs that comes down from the glass door to the vehicle port there is a small space that can be used for anything... I thinks its better suited for:

I like the flap on the box so that you can see more of the features if you are in a shop before buying - makes it more interesting if you haven't quite decided to get it.

Great review.

  Excellent review. Before this review I thought the set was only a cave with some rooms...now I know better and as usually after some reviews I want this set too.

The transformable car/underwater vehicle seems like a legoisch thing. >:D The futureplanet base also has a transfomable seg-way spacecraft device which reminded me of lego. :sherlock:

Well thanks for all the pictures.

An excellent review Panos
I'm still undecided about this theme, but I can see the possibilities of using the building for other themes.

I've just realised that the 'traitor' klicky is the one that comes with this months 'All about Playmobil' magazine, except that one side of the head has dark glasses instead of the angry eyes.

That's a wall that desperately needs to be turned into a giant billboard.
Or maybe the screen for a drive-in movie theater

LOVE those ideas!  A secret headquarters hidden behind a drive-in theater, or behind a billboard in the mountains near the interstate.... either one really sparks the imagination!

i would love to see this building customized into a studio loft apartment overlooking a lake.  I'd live there!

Oh that would be sooooo awesome!!!

Yes, it comes with that, a gun and a briefcase.
I can't see the white armour on the box very well, but I think the pattern on the front of this one may be slightly different.

Nope, its the same. Good to know its on the magazine klikcy... I'll keep an eye open for them in the newsstands...

...or behind a billboard in the mountains near the interstate....

Now that's a great idea....  ;D

Excellent review Panos! I think this is definitely one to consider - you have swayed my thinking about the secret agents theme!

AH! So you admit it! You MEAN to MAKE us buy stuff we never intended to.

You would do well to watch yourself... My wallet hates you more.... Might go for you after it's done with me...

Yes my intention is indeed to drag you further down the hole  ;D ;D ;D

After Linda's comment, i reflected on most of the replies in this review, and understood that many playmofriends did change their opinion for the top agent sets... Doesn't hurt to feel good for making people see the good side of things :)

However, my wallet is already after me, i think it can join forces with yours  Whenever I am leaving home it does not want to come with me

The toilte does not come with the set  :)
The face you see first is the angry one  :)
In that face the eyes are molded and the rest is printed  :)
I hope that helps!

Thanks so much for the info! And another question I have! The prison door can be removed in order to put a normal small wall?Is this building able to be transformed in a normal "strange" house and to put furniture in the ground floor,or it slides?

I so wanted to build this set for other themes but the way Geobra made it it will be much more complicated than I need. If you used it for medieval you have to remove all the lab section or do something to conceal the windows etc..... It should have been either stecks or system x  :hissyfit:

The door has hinges.
Yes you can replace it with a wall  :)
