2nd annual Buenos Aires Playmobil Collectors meet-up
« on: October 12, 2014, 13:26:13 »
Finally!

On September 27th a group of 7 collectors from Buenos Aires got together for 6 hours to share our common craziness.
As our meetings in B.A. are only for the day we had to work in advance for almost two months, put aside RL and organize a lot, to put this together in one hour and a half  ;D If it wouldn't have looked totally weird I could swear we would have all taken a nap afterwards

We designed three sectors on our Western diorama.
The town
The Jesuit Mission and
The mine

After all was set up we took pictures and eat and talked for the rest of the afternoon. One cllector (also a seller and the only one in Argentina with an import license -from now on refered as OUR BEST FRIEND-) brought some novelties to sell and some gifts for everyone

Here is a group of photographs of the biggest table: THE TOWN: Beckville
Unfortunally I had a problem with my camera and I lost the first bunch of pics I took, therefore there's no general view of the town, but I'll try to get some from the other guys.

I'll continue to post the rest during the next few days

That looks wonderful tongello! Thanks for sharing!

The begging boy is really nice, and all the custom signs of the buildings

You put real sand on the tables? Looks great!

Oh wow! Those are some gorgeous scenes and pictures!

I agree the begging boy custom looks great. I wonder how you did his clothes - paint? a nail polish type thing?
The sand looks amazing, with the tracks in it, it gives the town a grimey look that fits perfectly.

I'm in awe of the advertisement posters and newspapers. There are some great little details too, like the native American woman dragging a cow.

And the last photo, of the stationmaster, has a wonderfully gloomy atmosphere. It looks like the beginning of a story.

Thank you guys!

We used sawdust, not sand. One of the guys uses it in his dioramas and it looks amazing in photogrpahs so we went for that. The best news is that sawdust can be dyed so you can make it any color you want. If you guys are interested I could make a How-to post about it.
On the bad news section: sawdust is extremly light so it can't be used outdoors or inside with a fan on, or near open windows, things like that.  8}

I hope today I can upload the Mission pics.

General view of the town from one side.
Sorry, no one seems to have taken a general view from the other side  >:(

A lot of lost pics  :'( :'( :'( I can't understand what happened... anyway.

THE MISSION

Made with plaster and cartboard by the guy who gave is the idea of the sawdust. I personally loved it, and he gave it to me as a present
