Ponymädchen :) from klickywelt took some pictures of the new school set that will be released in august.
-
Oh my! That is simply delightful!
I really like the mini gymnasium. So cute! :D
Thanks for the pics, Ponymädchen and cachalote. :-*

That's wonderfull !
I am sure Wilma (my wife - who's a teacher) will love it!
It will be a difficult and expensive year :-[

Great looking sets there . thanks for the pictures :wow:

There sure are some nice pieces in those sets! That mini gymnasium ought to serve Kaethe well for her hospital's physical therapy rooms and I love those beatnik instruments,'crazy man'.
Thanks for the photos.

Actually, I am a bit disappointed; having seen the pics on Playmobil.de (thanks to Customiser).
It's a very large building, with only one single classroom !!! I think it had been better had there at least been two classrooms for that price.
But I might be nick-picking....

Maybe it was designed with the US in mind . Cut all funding and cram all the kids in one small room

here´s the picture form playmobil.de site...

You could always tow some trailers on-site and set up portable classrooms! :)

I'm afraid that doesn't only apply to US Schools; here in the Netherlands cuts on schools are increasing as well and at the same time the pressure is mounting.
Hopefully there's a safety valve (doubt it very much though)

and a couple dozen new parts ;)

I must agree with Count Bogro, that only one classroom in an entire school seems out of proportion.
On the positive side, I really like the gym.
-
Well one class room is surely better than having nothing for the last 35 years . All that furniture and no where to house them ;)
perhaps like the hospital an extension set will become avalable . One odd thing is Playmobil chose to make new desks and not stick to the old classic ones . now all the old ones i have will have to go into the shipping containers as the overflow portables class rooms .

It's definitely a US school.
One classroom, but fancy gym.
On the other hand, if that were a US school, the kids would all be dressed like pop singers and the teachers would be being escorted to jail for saying "no" to a kid while the parents hurl death threats at the teacher.

Timotheos, you must mean Public Schools surely! ::)

Still ... it is a lovely theme with great sets ...
And with the add-ons that Geobra will no-doubtedly release it will be even better.
Perhaps I should buy a set (after I've completed my castle :-[)

Juat what I'd want, get home from school and I can play with my Playmobil school.
Anyway, bongos and xylophones are OK, but where the violin? ALL kids have to play the violin at school, it's the LAW.
-
It's a wonderful idea by gB! Congratz on them. (And notice that I'm not a lover of modern life playmo, it's in second place always.)
I'd never put thought on this. Anyway, it really completes the modern (playmo)town. School is a very important part of a town.
Concerning the single classroom, I think the only way of solving it is buying two schools. It lacks a library, as well ... So, a lot of new space is needed!
(And books. Victorian shelves would go well there ... But some will disagree.)
Hey, what do you think of a victorian school! This would be SOMETHING!!

I'm not sure if you were serious, but this is something that my kids really love to do. ;)
The girls, especially, are fond of setting up little classrooms using their dolls or cuddly toys and playing teacher by handing them out pieces of paper with sums or other schoolwork on them. ;D
When they see all the new school-related accessories that Playmobil are bringing out, I'm sure they will be demanding that I get my hands on them as quickly as possible. 8-)
The new musical instruments are delightful, but one of the other things that really caught my eye is the world globe on the desk. It even looks like you will be able to spin it. How cool! :D

Yes, I also spotted this and really give up: no customs anymore from my side. Each time I thought I got a good idea half a year later Playmobil brings out an original one item (and this means they must have thought about even longer before I thought about it due to design and production issues); it's the case with the globe (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=2798.0) and had been the same before with the swans (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=727.msg11445#msg11445) ... I'm frustrated ... on the other hand I'm glad because I mainly customize items that are missing in my Playmobil world and now I will have original items :confetti:
Oh I forget: this will be a must have set for me too.
And about the discussion with only one large classroom: I think there will be for sure extension sets -, not only new type of rooms (like chemestry or biology) but also new floor/level like with the hospital to make the school even bigger and more than one classroom will be available.

Jochen - did you notice the drill press in the workshop set? It can be seen at the playmobil.de page.
-
That workshop set looks great! Tools, drill press, bench w/vise and cabinets :woohoo: They must have add-on floors if they are selling the classrooms individually, it just doesn't seem right otherwise.

Yes, I did :D ... but I didn't spot the pincer so far the little girl is holding in her hand -- great, new tool.
And also the teacher has a new pencil. So I can replace my variant from mid 2005. Just a notepad and a measuring tape still seems to be missing (cf. pic.).

bit late to comment as i have been on holiday snowboarding and missed all the new releases...d'oh! ::)
i really love the school theme and will buy it, but it seems a small theme to me only being of six sets. which makes me wonder if there will be more next year. many of you have commented about there only being one classroom for many different subjects which is a very valid point and will probably be remedied with a DS extension. seems to me though that the glaring omission is a school bus, especially since they used to make one many years ago.
so if there is to be additions to the theme, please playmobil, can i have a school bus. :crossed:

I have a yellow Playmobil school bus, it's very American-looking.
I don't know if they even have school buses in Germany. In all my years going to school in the UK I never rode in a school bus, so the very idea is slightly alien to me.
-
I had never thought of the school bus . I have the old ones and i really do not think its classic look would fit and the new one seems a bit off as well . If they were to do it I would like to see some thing like the short busses we have here :P

i missed the workshop classroom. wow, this will be great to incorporate into my hospital as well, as the biomed shop. i also can start a separate section of the hospital, the basement floors under the cabinet that the hospital sits on, as that will be where the biomed/engineering and sterile and central processing departments will be, as well as the laundry. more things to wait for. :) kaethe

The school buses in Europe aren't purpose built as the American ones. Ordinary buses - sometimes fitted with seat belts and a warning sign. See attachment for an example.
Maybe Playmobil will release an American school bus, but I doubt it.
-
come on what kid would not want to go to school in that 2nd bus i showed
