The Knights of Malta
« on: July 06, 2007, 17:32:58 »
Hi everyone!  :)

Finally managed to finish the final touches to my Maltese display! The scene would be a typical 16th Century Port in Malta.

I'm not a very keen user of paint, and non-playmo parts, but unfortunately i had to do so in this display due to the lack of existing parts, height of buildings etc. I have however done my best to use as much playmobil parts as possible and the good eye will spot anything from horse heads to baby cots, from lions to euro notes, so keep looking. All you need is imagination.

You can see it with comments here:

Hope you like it!  :)

Absolutely great!!!  :o

My favourites are the Chapel, Sacristy, Madonna -- such lovely detailed well worked out (and for sure the Portrait of a Pope    fantastic)
Also the pic "Pilgrim's Ship" which has a very nice view with the water/waves and the dolphins.

(Just would be curious how a wide angle view of the setup would be)

Hello, Sir Brian ...

IMO ... this is the best that you have ever done!

My favourite is your photo of the dungeon ... (Great picture, Brian!)

My second favourite is your photo through the ship's window ... Excellent!

Now for the questions ... How did you make the "watchtower" and where did all the buildings come from?

And, one request ... Would you please share a larger photo with us of your army?

Thanks for a splendid presentation, Brian!

All the best,
Richard

Great work, Brian.  It really is beyond description how you've captured the feel and atmosphere of Malta.  Knowing Malta, it's like being there.

Totally bowled over by the amount of detail and the creativity you have shown in your dioramas. :wow:

It's not only a feast for the eyes, it's also fun to study the pictures more closely and to try to work out what is made out of what.

Thank you for taking us on a tour of 16th century Malta. :)9

Hi Brian,

Catherine & myself were really impressed by the result of your creativity. Last year you were still at the beginning of this initiative and look now  :wow:
I even took a tour through the pictures we made of Mdina, in order to see if we recognised some of your buildings.
My favorites are the fountain and the fishing boat
Hope to come back to Malta next year  ???

Cheers,

DD & Miss DD  ;)

That is a truly magnificent effort!  The German medieval town posted a while back is the only thing that comes anywhere close to this in my view.

The best bit is the portrait of the Klicky Pope!  Lovely little detail!
