Today I've received the egyptian sets and I thought you might be interested in seeing some pictures of the sets. At the moment I can only show you the 4246, as I haven't had the time to take pictures of all the sets.
I think the pictures speak for themselves, but I want to say that the house is made out of one "ground piece" and it can't be connected to earlier Playmobil building systems.

This is the last picture from this set.
I must say that I really like the new egyptian figures and sets  They are detailed and include many new weapons and accessories.

Will the house hold together if it's not attached to the base?
I'm slightly disappointed that once again they've attached a building to a base, it seems to make it bigger and costlier yet less adaptable to different uses.
I'll definitely be buying one, but depending on how that works it might be only one.

Thanks for the pictures! It really is a lovely set. I was kind of on the fence about this one, but I think your pictures have convinced me to get it :D

Yes, and the walls aren't attached to the house so it is possible as a standalone.

I've got this set as well - acquired it last week as part of my birthdaypresents.
It's one of my fav. sets from the entire Egyptian theme.
... Can you put lots of them, side by side? 8} ...
Actually, you can. The house itself is one piece on which the roof just clicks on; just as the false wall and break-away hiding place. The two outer walls are loose pieces as is the well.
Using the well of the base might be tricky though as it has a large rim on the bottom to click it onto the base.
I wonder if anyone noticed this yet: all the saddleblankets for the camels have a different colour. The Camel in this set comes with a blue one; the two camels in the Graverobbers set are red and purple.
As to the female klicky in this set: she's even better looking if her sash is pulled somewhat down so that it is over her hips . I must admit: she's cool looking!

Glad I'm not the only one who finds klicky women hot.

Thanks for the very good review, LHAAP. Although the Egyptian theme, unlike the Roman one, gets nowhere near my shopping list, I'm very impressed by what Playmobil have produced, both in the detal of the sets (e.g. the working well in this one) and the detail and quality of the decoration.
From the point of view of play value, I can see why Playmobil go for the use of bases in these sets, and as the house will stand by itself, collectors' needs can also be met. The fact that the house is a single casting and cannot be joined by some sort of connector to other houses really isn't a problem as houses like this would have been detached. The missing detail that I see, and it is a big one, is the lack of an outside staircase to the roof. The roof was where people slept and access was from outside so it is a big omission, especially when you consider that they've included an outlet for smoke from the cooking fire.

Lol
I do too
Nice revieuw , thank you

Thanks for the great review and pictures.
I think this is a neat little set with some cool accessories :yup:
The house does need a ladder or steps to the roof though, but
that is easily done.
Looks kinda like one of my Playmobil pueblos from years gone by, so
this would work in a western theme also.
Best regards,
Jimbo

That's a great idea Jimbo. Especially if you painted it a rust red color.

When I first saw this set I was thinking the same thing as well!

Thank you, Lars, for a very informative, well illustrated and excellent review!
I absolutely agree with Jimbo and Justindo. It would be really easy to use this for a western adobe building. Throughout the early west, there were many small "well stops" like this for intermediate stage coach rests as well as horse riders like the Pony Express. Of course it could also be used as a dwelling house for several American Indian tribes.
Thanks again, Lars.
All the best,
Richard
