Help
« on: January 21, 2006, 23:39:27 »
I have just had a a total disc failure on the laptop that I keep my databases on   :'(

I have lost all the information I had collected since I got the new machine, at the end of august.

So, as I go about reassembling that info, I am wondering if there are those who can help me

I lost all the scanned instructions I have obtained since I got the new computer.

Instructions that I am looking for include

3443 - Medieval House - The Barn

3650 - old sea aquarium
1st page

5345 - Victorian Hat Stand
1st page

Native American sets -  There was a person who emailed a number of different set instructions to me.
I passed some of them on to at least one other person.
I dont have any of these instructions anymore  :(

Thanks for any and all help,
Meg

I was able to lay my hands right on the instructions.  DH scanned them in for me, but I'll have to trim them down.  THAT will have to wait until after dinner, as I'm in the middle of cooking  :P  I'll email it to you tonight, though  ;D

BTW, sorry to hear about your hard drive, that's one of the worst feelings ever.  Thanks for reminding me, though, I REALLY need to back mine up!

5345 - Victorian Hat Stand
1st page

By the first page, you mean just the cover?
I have it and will e-mail it to you right away.

Let me know if what I have sent is incorrect or if you need any other pages. :)

I have 2 pages of the these instructions.
They deal with the little bits, the feathers, hat ornaments, hat bands and the two women.

There should be a page with the construction of the hat stand.

Thank you

Meg

There's another page showing the table, hand mirror and smaller stand also.
It's on the way to you. :)

I can't help with the plans you've listed so far, meg, but just to say sorry to hear your news.  I know that backing up data is one thing I'm very lax about (supposedly I do it every week), but so far I've got away with it.  (I backed up for the first time for 6 months yesterday!)

There is software which can sometimes recover data on a crashed disc, or firms which will do this for you, but its pricey.

If you let me know what other instructions/plans you've lost, I'll see if I have any of them and if I have get them to you.

Thank you Sylvia,
I didnt realize that I was missing two pages, because my two were labeled "b" and "c" by the original sender.

Gordon,
Thank you for your offer.

I am glad that I encouraged everyone/anyone to back up their disc.
This is actually the first time it has happened to me, and it could have been a lot worse.
At least, I had my old laptop from a few months ago.
When I get everything back in order, I will be backing it up somewhere.
