4256 FAIRY-TALE KING AND THRONE
« on: October 21, 2006, 01:44:07 »
REVIEW OF THE FAIRY-TALE KING (4256)

The Fairy-Tale King has a terrific new throne! The owl relief is first-rate both on the throne back and on the arm fronts of the throne.

There's nothing much new about the King except for the decoration.

The King's costume is a mixture of blues and greens which probably won't win him the King Suit of the Year Award ... ;)

The black panther really doesn't add much to this set even with his gold-plated chain.

The first picture shows the parts bags.

The second and third pictures show the assembly directions which are straight forward and very easy. That is ... EXCEPT FOR SYSTEM-X !!!  For some reason, Playmobil decided to put two pieces in this set that require System-X connectors. However, they did not include the tool required. And, if you've ever tried to connect System-X without the little tool, you can appreciate how important this tool really is.

The next two pictures show the owl detail of the the throne back. And, the third picture shows the detail on the throne arms.

The last pictures show the King's "different" colour combination. the King on his Throne and the "strange" System-X bases for the lamps.

Hope everyone enjoyed this review of the new Fairy-Tale King and his throne.

All the best,
Richard

Thanks, for your kind words, Jochen ...

However, the Fairy-Tale KING and the
Fairy - Tale CARRIAGE were really the only two that were of any real interest to me.

This is a very nice set. I like the new throne, finally the king can sit down without removing his royal cape.  ;D

But don't we have enough kings, queens, princes and princesses in our klicky-world by now? I'm running out of boxes, shelves and drawers they can rule in, I'm running low on kingdoms  :-\
