The GREAT Parade
« on: February 18, 2017, 15:29:28 »
When I started customizing I was inspired by the colonial figures over at gardenwargaming.com (which seems to have fallen asleep somehow). I showed a bunch of figures forming a parade inspired by the Delhi Durbar back then.
Five years ago I got some space in the cellar reserved for my playmobil and parallel to working on so many different topics I worked on the new "Great Parade" for those past five years assembling 625 customized figures. Now I have the feeling to have come to an end (for now) and here they are.
The space on the shelf is needed for a new project and before boxing up the figures I took some photos.
I start with an overview and pictures of the different "scenes" will follow. There will be pictures of all figures.

For those not familiar with the Delhi Durbar: I got a lot of inspiration here: http://www.beau-geste.com/sets.php?pid=7

Wow, they are so colorful!

Love the "brownies" (no surprise there, I suppose :P)

Amazing to see so many parts from all over the themes in there...

Also amazing: the drums on the camels! Looking forward to more details :)

(What I can't wrap my mind around are the men in those high heeled shoes.  Maybe they can be boots too? But - unfortunately - I can't see them that way :( )

That's a wonderful looking display. Too bad it has to go away for a while, but I understand the desire to freshen up with new ideas.
Thanks for sharing it with us.
