Title: Testing Flickr as image host
Post by: Gustavo on September 24, 2010, 02:48:12
Does Flickr work normally as image host?

(Second script ...)

Follows more tests.

Moderators feel free to delete thread, as soon as I finish. (I'll let know when.)

Wonderful! It can change sizes easily ... And it's less aggressive to my comput.
Hmm, I smell future photostories! :P

Okay, I'm done.

I don't know. I guess that due to the adds, Photobucket makes my computer to be stressed (and faint ..). Flickr seems to be lighter.

Hi Gus,
if your looking for a new host have you tried Picasa? It has it's own picture editing software and you can easily upload albums to the web. It's also very good image organiser on your pc.

I have given up using Imageshack.us and use Hostingpics.net instead with better results it seems for those reading my posts  ;)

I use flickr for my pictures, it's great because you can upload 1280 x 1024 pictures and show them in any of 4 sizes.

Here's an example of the medium size - 1024 x 768.

So am I enjoying Flickr because of the possibility of changing the size without having to save a new picture too. It's nicely thought, makes things easy!

(Besides, I like Yahoo, all right :P )

Uh-oh ... Is it true that, beyond 200 pictures, you have to pay for using flickr? :(

This will be trouble :hmm:

I'll make a test:

the picture published above was one of the very first ones I put on flickr. I'll try to load up to around 210 pictures. (They say no content is deleted, only visibility is limited to the most recent 200 ones.)

My test consists in visibility in hosting. If no pictures are deleted, and if they continue to be visible in their references (i.e., in the photostories), there's no problem that I can't see the older pictures. And I'll may go on with my activities, even without paying, for the beginning.

(However it's very cheap, it's around $2,30 a month ... (R$ 4,oo/month).)

Let me try, then ...

(Appearently it's okay: flickr doesn't interrupt the links.)
