But to fly real fast jets, a klicky first has to take lessons on a jet-trainer...

Here we go...  ;)

The aircraft is a large scale F-22 toy-jet, and not Playmobil but from "True Heroes" and it's scale is perfect for Playmobil-figures.
The jet - as opposed to modelism-aircraft - comes as good as fully assembled and is quite detailed on the outside. The plastic is a bit thinner as Playmobil and the box says ''made in China", but it goes well with Playmobil and I'm satisfied with the quality, though of course it could have been much better if made by one of the bigger toybrands. (I hadn't expected anything as good as Playmobil and there is no other jet in this size on the market, or maybe unless you buy an expensive deskmodel or something form specialised manufacturers). Quality is decent enough for my purposes (display, pictures... and yes, a bit of play as well, I had fun taking those reallike flyshots :P ) but I think one shouldn't let a young kid play with it too much or it won't last very long, though it is much stronger then f.e. a Revell/Tamiya/... -modelaircraft one can buy to assemble.

Inside the cockpit - in which a klicky could be fit -  there was nothing besides a stupid/ugly pilot-doll on a very simplistic seat. So, I threw away the figure that came with it and unscrewed the seat from the cockpit. I searched together some Playmobil-parts, and I measured what I could fit where while still being able to fit a klicky inside with the canopy fully closed.
The seat I used comes from a swamp-boat (I think) that came with the Treasure-adventurers theme... I heatbended the seat so it's back would be tilted to the rear (a bit like the seat in an F-16, to minimize G-forces during manoeuvring). Behind the seat I installed a system-X part with a hose that goes to the pilot's mask, to represent a software-installation and a life-supportsystem with pressurized oxygen.

Inside there was no control-panel at all, so I used parts from the stupid original seat, a dremel and glue to make an instrument-panel. I then cut up into very small parts a sticker-sheet with cockpit-displays/screens that came with set 5954 (passenger aircraft) and I glued the different displays on the control-panel, which I then installed inside the cockpit.

The landing-gear is fully retractable inside the jet. It comes completely in grey though, so I painted the supports white and the wheels black like on real jets. There were some stupid stickers on the aircraft, I removed most of them except those on the vertical stabilizers. Momentarily I'm making a few custom-stickers like often seen on military jets, you can already see the first ones (small red triangles) just behind the cockpit on some of the photos.

And so, my klickies now finally have a decent fast fighterjet!  :yippee:

Well, that's a very smart item, Erwin, and nicely improved for your klickies, and thanks for the detailed commentary and excellent inflight shots.
