Hello!
I've decided to start a single, organised thread to tell of all the new things that I get and create! :) I hope that you enjoy it.
-
To start, today I got the last four figures of Series 1 that I wanted.
Although I don't like the wings very much, I do like the dragon knight's black crossbow, his cool shield design, the dark metal new-style sword, and, most of all, the new legs that he has! I hope that these legs make it on to more figures (than just this one, the eagle knights, and the red knight from the new carrying case), and I would like to see them in white too. His painted-on face is a bit unfortunate though...
The witch is much cooler than I thought, but it is a bit strange that her head is a different colour than her hands and feet. The sandals are cool though, and so is her hat!
The bandit-type figure is cool too, particularly his spurs! I do wish that he and the others came with some sort of cuffs though.
The girl highway bandit is definitely one of most unique of the group, and I like the printing on her, but I will probably give her a cape too. And her gun will promptly be switched out for a sword or knife of some sort. The markings on her face are an interesting touch too, and that adds to the uniqueness for sure!
-
Oooooooooooo Im LOVING those figures!!!!!
Lucky lucky you;)
Looking forward to following the thread
Best wishes
Issyx
-
Those look really good! BTW, has anyone posted a picture close up of each complete series here yet, because the pictures of the actual figures are much more tempting!
-
Nice purchases! Those figures look great!
-
  Nice buys, up to the next edition of figures! ;)
-
Thanks! :)

Today, my first DS order arrived!
I originally wanted many more Teutonic Knights, but when I placed my order, they only had one available, despite telling me that they had seven! :( I did get 10 pennants for my castle (soon to be properly claimed by the knights) though, and I'm really happy about that. Also, I got 4 walls so that I can create some jousting lists! Not many cuffs were in stock either, but I got some of those and plenty of swords and daggers! I also got some capes with pegs (to create some Teutonic archers, and because the full length white cloaks were also out of stock). Oh, and the helms of course!
It all came in a single bag, which was in an envelope.
He was eager to be the first out of the bag, and apparently started equipping himself in the bag. :hmm: I reckon he might be my first custom who gets taken apart... if I don't break him.
Here's the entire order. :)
-
Looks good. It usually takes multiple orders to get everything you want for a project.

Well, there weren't any mistakes! Just lots of things out of stock.
-
Ah!! The excitement of receiving a DS order
-
Lovely...
Where's that white cape from?
-
Again, nice purchase! :)
-
Lovely...
Where's that white cape from?
It's from the Dragon Land take-along set, similar to the barbarian one we've been talking about in the other thread. It's set 4775. I thought that I had that set until I realised that I had no white capes with a peg for equipment... So I bought some, though I really wanted the full length white ones (which were out of stock)!

Thank you! :) (will add to my ever growing want list :-[ )
-
The long white cape is out of stock? :uhoh: I may need a few in the future... better get some of the crusaders packs still available in a toy chain store...
-
Placed an order the other day, and it is very exciting indeed! Looks like you have some big plans.
-
Those white cloaks are awesome! Gotta order some now!
A.

 I think that I've bought out all of them at every store I've been to that had them.

A.
Yes, they are! I've already turned one of my Teutonic Knights into an archer with one. Unfortunately, I have one knight without a shield now since they were out of stock too, despite Playmobil also telling me that they had them! :( I also wanted to place some extra shields around the castle when I rechristen it in their name in a few days... Oh well.
-
Today I got set 4886. Here are the kings meeting with my knights:

The klickys are nice...
-
The klickys are nice...
Well, there's not much to the set other than them. Three figures, a few accessories, and the camel.
-
I think there are far too many kings though..
-
What do you mean? Too many kings in general released by Playmobil? Or three is too many for the set?
-
Too many kings in general... They come with castles, smaller sets, specials.. those have 3 of them at once...
-
True, there are many kings. I got the set to use them more as non-warrior figures though, since most Medieval sets are full of those, and these three aren't that regal looking, especially considering what time they are supposed to be from. I do have probably five or so kings now, but most of them can easily be turned into unkingly characters with the taking of their crowns!

Point. We do need more non-soldiers.... PLENTY more.
-
Take the white-robed king and give him (for instance) this hat http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-64-9702 (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-64-9702) instead of a crown and you have a rich merchant or nobleman.
You have a good set to build from, Pynedor.

That is a good idea. I really want to put his crown to good use, since it looks a lot more Medieval than most of the other crowns. It's a really cool design.
-
Today I got one more 5825 crusader pack and a 5856 knight pack on sale! :) Unfortunately, this was the last crusader pack that I could find anywhere... :(
-
The klickys are nice...
Ditto. I think that the klickies looks beautiful in this set!
-
Today I managed to find another Arab warrior Special, set 4691. ;)
I also - finally - got the Series 2 knight. He is much cooler than I originally thought. His shield looks nice with the wyrm (though the yellow arrows are sort of strange), and the face marking is a nice one (though mine doesn't have very good print quality :(). Also, has anyone else noticed that his armour is lighter than the armour of other figures? Someone mentioned that they might be using a different material to make them now, but this is the first time I've seen this. My knight's metal pieces - his helm, shield, arm pieces, gorget, belt, and sword - are completely of a lighter colour. It almost looks metallic really, and I actually like it. I still think that he would look better with armoured hands and different legs though.
I would have gotten some of the female figures too, but after a rather vexing ten minutes or so feeling the bags without ever finding the ones I wanted, I decided to leave and try again later.

now it only takes me about 10 seconds to get that similar feeling :P
great things you buy

great things you buy
Thanks!

Today I found yet another 5825 crusader pack... somehow. And I also got three crusader 4670 specials on sale! :)
I also tried (and failed) to use the so-called "Spanish method" to behead one of my crusaders. I twisted the band very tightly, yet the head really did not want to come off. The smashing method seems too violent and so I won't try that (I broke an unfortunate test figure's arm trying it earlier :hmm:). For now, I really want to just be able to take apart one so that I can customise a "leader" of sorts.

I use the "Hans on" method to customize my klickies and it works well. With fat klickies, however, this method is somewhat difficult and I have broken a couple legs this way, so I use a pliers on the back of the head and it works well. If you don't use masking tape, this method leaves a mark at the back of the head, but because the hair covers it, I don't see it as an issue. Customizing klickies is one of my favorite things to do with Playmobil, as I can make each one exactly as I want it. :)
-
do you lift the arms when you do the "hans on" method ?
-

Yes, I lift the arms.
-

Sorry I was not more clear Justindo :-[ Seeing all your custom work I kind of figured you had it figured out how best to take a figure apart. 8} the English language
I think there is a great opportunity for some one to make a special set of pliers that are rubber coated, fit into the neck area of a Klicky and once pressure is applied it pops the heads off. No invention needed, just engenering. I think they would not only sell like hotcakes on auctions but would get Geobras attention. Better get the pattents all in order first though ::)
-
I lifted the arms when I tried too... without success. The little tab on one of the arms of the sacrificial figure broke off. :(
That was a while ago, and I've not tried that method again. I went for the "Spanish method" with a Teutonic knight, but its head really would not come off. I didn't want to damage it, so I left it at that. I just want one apart though so I can use the grey inner piece from a Series figure to easily customise with the Teutonic knight tabard.
-
Today the arrival of eleven new knights was heralded. :) One of them even brought along an extra shield that I needed and another pennant. Among various other treasures, new helms will be arriving for them soon in another DS order!
-
oh, I do like the look of them in numbers. Too bad for the nonbelievers ;D
Great addition to your collection
-
They seem to be growing in numbers ;D Good good!! You'll have 1000 before you know it
-
I don't know about that many...
And here's my first successful custom! I cannot wait until my next parts order arrives. 8}
-
Hey, not bad! :)9 I never thought of using those legs with that torso...
-
Congratulations on your first custom! He looks great and worthy of leading your growing army. :knight:
-
Thanks, guys!
Hey, not bad! :)9 I never thought of using those legs with that torso...
I wish they had ones with a white tabard bottom though!
-
Great looking army. Get over to the Kingdom Map and claim some land.
-
Great looking army. Get over to the Kingdom Map and claim some land.
Thanks! I've looked at the map, and I was wondering whether it is possible to add more land to it. Like if I wanted a tiny island - do you reckon that would be okay? I only need a small place since I don't have a giant kingdom, and I'd like a little secluded island kingdom. Is there a rule against that?
-
As I had pillaged my Series 1 Dragon Knight for parts, today I got another one of those to keep complete. And I'm still waiting for my next DS order to arrive...
-
"Hmm, what is that arriving in the distance...?"
Ah-ha! It's the new DS order! I am very excited for this one, as it has some new capes and more helms for my knights! I was surprised that I was given some older swords instead of the new ones though. But I don't mind. :)
-
Your Teutons are becoming more and more well equipped with each DS order ;D
-
  Exciting! Now I'm curious how the customs are going to look like.
-
I got a Series 2 alien today. I didn't realise how strange their hair-pieces were. I was originally planning on trying his helmet on some knights, but i think I might just leave him how he is. It's a cool design, though he could use some sort of other weapon I think.
-
Wonderful purchases!!
Nice stuff and great customs, well done. :)9 :)9
Thanks for sharing. :wow:
George. :)
-
Another DS order! Unfortunately, some parts were missing from the order when it arrived with a "please reorder" note on the invoice. :(
I hope to use the Egyptian shields for some customs. I wish there were some of this style of kite shield in knight sets.
-
.....seeing that makes me greedy.... want also new gear.... no, Lynx don't do it.. wallet is empty and the holiday is coming up.. great capes!
Those black cross crusaders are, in my opinion, one of the best looking knights (foot soldiers) Geobra ever made...
Congratulations, Pynedor. good buys!
-
 Thanks! I agree about the crusaders.
-
Today's haul:
I don't really like the way that that wings on the fairy attach, and they limit the figure's use basically to a fairy. :-\
-
Oops, sorry about the double post.
I wanted to just edit my post to say that while the fairy one's uses are limited, I think the other figure from that set will fit nicely into a Medieval retinue. :)
-
The problem is the darn HOLE in her back.. Made worse cause a lot of them are GORGEOUS. We will pretend there is no hole, I suppose.
(btw, those wings are upside down, me thinks)
-
Can always give them a cape. :)
-
(btw, those wings are upside down, me thinks)
 I put them on that way on purpose. They looked more relaxed that way, as opposed to being perpetually up.
Can always give them a cape. :)
True. :P
-
I received another DS order today that had almost everything that I wanted to create my first female knight! Take a look.
I think it turned out quite well. It's unfortunate that there is no swordbelt for girls though, but she looks fine without one I say. ;D
-
She's beautiful and formidable. I like her alot!
-
I think she needs a chest plate, or a chainmail design over her body... I think Arnaud would be able to help you with that ;)
-
She looks great. Did not know the swordholder belts do not fit on a female torso.
-

Well, it's true they could fit better... But I think it's good enough, and have some with belts..
-

I had one on her, but it wouldn't stay in place, which annoyed me, so I took it off.

A great idea, but I am working on some designs now for a custom heraldry for my white-tabard knights. ;)
-
Here are three additions to my collection!
This poor chap didn't make it far out of his box before being pillaged by a Teutonic knight, who promptly procured his leg armour. :D
(http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l145/SummonNightz/DSC02979.jpg)
The Spanish guard is a great special, but I only got the Roman because he was heavily discounted!
-
Great additions, well done.
The box 4277 is one of my favourite codes.
Friendly George.
-
Great additions. What happened to the arabian warrior?
-
Thanks!
What happened to the arabian warrior?
His leg armour was given to the Teutonic knight standing next to him. I needed white tabard bottoms, and that set is the only one that includes them. I like the new platelegs, but they don't come with white tabard bottoms. The other knight standing by him has those, but they are black.
-

I just saw you already wrote it above the picture! :wall:
I must say, those knights look great with those legs.

Thanks! :) I think so too.

Now I bought the new 5978 set with the three silver axe, blue and black knights. Thanks to bonniebeth for the find! :)
-
Your Teutonic army is looking great! Nice customs, too!
-

Thanks! :)
-
I found one of these on sale! :) The mask / helmet seems like a really cool piece for a fantasy custom!
-
I finally got some more of the Fi?ures, some from series 2. I really like these two figures, and I think the flower headdress is particularly cool. I also got my first extra part - an extra grey Fi?ures skeleton! This is great because they are awesome to use for customs (if you use the Fi?ures heads too). :)
I also made my first painted custom, just a small one though. I painted this helm as a sort of experiment for my plans to make some figures with my own heraldry. I think it turned out alright, but I think I'll try to make any more that I do better than this one.
-
Great work with the custom helmet!!! The more you work on something the better you get.
Elric has already used the 4848 headpieca as a helmet for his king!
-
Those are the only 2 F?gures I have so far. They're a cute pair.
-
I really like how the helmet turned out!
-
Thank you for the kind comments!
Elric has already used the 4848 headpieca as a helmet for his king!
I have noticed that. I think it'd be cool to have the other guardian one without the horn-like parts too.
-
great custom job
-
Wow, that is a beautiful custom! The colours look great together and the sugarloaf helmet is one of my favorites!!
-
I got these three Fi?ures from series 3:
I was very surprised with the knight. I didn't think the samurai armour would look very good in silver on a knight, but it turned out to make quite a nice fantasy figure. And I think the dwarf is one of the best figures released in a while! He is really cool. The only things that I don't like about him are his thick wrists and the loose vambraces that go on them. :-\
I also used the extra skeleton that I had to upgrade my female knight. :)
-
Wonderful figures, I must have them too and soon.
Your female knight is wonderful, I love her. Very nice custom.
George. :)
-
I'm falling in love more and more with these dwarves.
-
I am faling in love with the femal knight :inlove:
-

Yup, they look great! :)

 You might have some opposition there.

The pictures in this thread are pretty awesome.
Thumbs up!

Thank you, Redmao. If my camera were newer, I think they wouldn't appear so pixelated at times.
-
I got a few discounted DuoPacks and ended up using some of the parts to make this custom. I probably won't leave the fabric cape on him, though it turned out a lot better than I thought it would.

He looks really good and rather fearsome in black nice simplistic desing I really like the fabric cape as well :)
-
Very nice custom, he looks great! :)
-
He looks great, I like that custom very much, well done.
George.
-
Thank you for the kind comments, mates.
-
He looks great, and the cape is a nice touch. :)
-
he looks great, I kind of wish that Geobra would make fabric capes. That way it could be combined with full plate armor too.
-
Fabric capes are easy enough to make for customs. :)
-
Very nice figure.
-

That's really the reason why I tried this out. It'd be awesome to be able to have a chainmail coif bottom or other neck armour with a cape, but that isn't possible with the current styles of capes. :-\
Here's another picture with a Hounskull-like helm.
-
Canyou post a pic of the cape alone? Looks like a good idea to.. adopt ;)
-
Awesome result!!! Is this a custom cape, one you made, or is it from another toy line?
-
Canyou post a pic of the cape alone? Looks like a good idea to.. adopt ;)
Sure. It's quite simple in design really. I just cut a small piece of cape-shaped cloth and then cut a hole in it. The silver piece I used to go over it works really well to hold it in place.

I made it. It only took me a few minutes, so it isn't shaped perfectly. Since it turned out so well, I'll probably try to make some more that are better. :)
-
Awesome Pynedor! Thanks.
The only problem is it being a "fixed" piece.. At least I don't go popping klickys after they're done... I suppose if the neckpiece wasn't fixed, it would be possible to use a non-fixed cape too....
Still, brilliant idea, and looks great :)
-
Cool!!! :)9
Thanks for the extra pics!!!
-

The way I get around this is to use the Fi?ures skeletons and heads in customs. They are made in a way that they can be popped off whenever needed, without using any of the old methods. They have somewhat rounded "lock-in" parts on the head pieces that allow for this. It's great for customising, and you can just pop them without worrying about doing any damage to them after they are complete. I know what you mean about finishing one and leaving it, but with the new Fi?ures parts, this can be basically forgotten. :)
I reckon I'll be using the Fi?ures heads and skeletons for all customs from now on, so I should be able to make many more and test out combinations much easier.
As another note - I haven't tried it since I don't really like to physically alter the parts - but I suppose the older heads could could filed down to allow for the same ease of subsequent poppings. They might be loose after this though, as they won't have been done perfectly by the moulds.

Uhm.. No. When a klicky is DONE, usually that's it, though we don't do names and etc anymore :-\
-
I love to use the F?gures skeletons that way, too. Makes it so much easier. I do that when I'm experimenting with a custom, so that i can take it apart and do it over several times if I don't quite like it. Also when I'm doing a photo story that invloves the klicky wearing different outfits so that I can take the same head and re-use it easily.
-
Thanks for the close-up pic of the cape, it looks great! :)
-
Uhm.. No. When a klicky is DONE, usually that's it, though we don't do names and etc anymore :-\
Alright. If you don't want to use the Fi?ures skeletons, I'm sure you could make a removable cloth cape if you spent some time making some sort of clasp or tie-around for it.

Indeed. ;D I just need more of them now.

I got an extra skeleton in a F?gure I picked up a little while ago! I was so excited!

That's the only extra piece I've ever received. Just one extra skeleton. I was excited too.
-
I went to a small hobby store I've never visited and was surprised when they had a 5825 DuoPack! I also found some Arab Warriors and the Bishop DuoPack that I had been looking for. :)
-
Wish I could find the cruzader one... I don't think I ever saw it - may have been "on" during my idiotic period.
-
Great purchase. I like very much the Arab warrior. It's one of my favorites figures and you can do some very nice Arab customs with that.
George.

Ooh, nice purchase! We don't get anything interesting locally. :(
-
Nice purchases, always nice to find sets you like that you dont expect to find anymore in stores. :)
Recently I found a nun and was quite happy about it, she was the only one left. Didnt have any yet and my clickies need some religion in their medieval lives.

One of them might be turned into a custom. ;)

:( Maybe you should open a shop yourself!

Nice! I've been looking for one of those. I saw it in a shop a few years ago and didn't get it for some reason and regret it now, of course. I think I'll find one eventually.

Here's a close-up of the new figure in my recent display. :)

Here's what I got today. I wanted the two new Special Plus figures, and I was surprised to find these other Specials and Fi?ures on sale. And I found some 2013 catalogues! :)

Wonderful purchases. The new Special Plus figures are very nice.

Yes, they really are cool. They come with a lot of great pieces, and I was surprised at how cool the archery target and horned helmet are. As I've said before, I wish the demon knight had gloved hands, but he doesn't look that bad with some vambraces added on.
I was also very happy with the undead warrior. It's much cooler than I though it would be. :)
-
Great sets you picked up. I too just found the 2013 catalog and was very tempted to pick up the specials plus, I will wait for a sale though.
-
Good ones :)
Whay did you get in the surprise baggies?

I got two of the light purple/blue princess. I wanted to keep one like it comes and use the other for a custom. ;)
-
I found the Egyptian set 4245 (the one with the five warriors) on sale like many others have and bought it a few days ago. I really like the shields in the Egypt sets. :) I also found the Fi?ures Series 2 Vampiress.
-
I recently made this custom, and I think it turned out well! :)

Nice custom Golden knight. The contrast with the snow, nice.
Still heaving problems with taken them apart, have a lot to learn ;)
Jack
-
Thanks. :) Taking them apart does take some practice.
-
Excellent custom! The golden knight looks like a true hero.
-
Excellent custom, well done.
From back side with the shield, he is fantastic.
George.
-
Its a very nice looking custom.

He's amazing, Pynedor!
What cape is that?
-
Thanks, everyone. I like the picture from the back also. :)
The cape is from the bride and groom add-on set, tahra. ;)

Ah, right - thanks. That was a great idea!

Great photo he looks awesome in his armour with that sword and shield :)

So, I've been away for a while, but now I'm back. I haven't been able to post or find any Playmobil during my absence, but here are two purchases that I recently made! :) I look forward to trying to find some of the Series 5 Fi?ures and some of the newer sets.
I found this egg that I'd been looking for for a while, and I got another demon knight for parts.
-
Very nice sets!!
George. :)

I combined my Eagle Castle with some more SystemX pieces, and now my Teutonic Knights have a larger castle! Hopefully they will have a building or two later this year also. And I'll make actual banners for them instead of small pieces of white paper. Sorry, the pictures aren't that great.

I've always really liked the looks of the sys x castle.
It looks really good!
Is this your first castle? Or just another for the Teutonic Order?
-
Looks great, banners are easy just print them up on the computer
-
What an awesome spacious castle they look right at home :knight:

The Eagle castle was my first one. This is that castle combined with some new pieces. All together it's the only castle I have. I've really taken a liking to the red roofs. Now I need more, muahaha. But really, I'll probably just aim to get a building for now to put inside the walls so they have somewhere to actually live.
Also, I wish that Playmobil castle walls were more like actual castles walls in thickness. I guess that'd be impractical for price reasons even if they were hollow or had passageways in them, but it sure would be awesome to have them like that. :-\

Indeed, and I know someone who has digital versions of the heraldry that'd be easy to print.
What an awesome spacious castle they look right at home :knight:
Thanks! Eventually I might be able to set up some scenery for them so it looks more realistic. :)

The Museum (and the Bakery of course) will fit right in with that.
I think when you get some Steck wall pieces you will fall in love with the versatility of them.
-
The Museum (and the Bakery of course) will fit right in with that.
I was hoping to get the Medieval house and barn combination set, but I really like both of those too.
I think when you get some Steck wall pieces you will fall in love with the versatility of them.
I keep thinking that, but whenever I imagine what I want, it can require a very large amount of Steck. I think I have about four pieces of Steck right now - a little broken wall with a spider-web in the window area from that one set with the two green barbarians.
-
I keep thinking that, but whenever I imagine what I want, it can require a very large amount of Steck.
I think you're on to something............... :P
-
Steck work wonders for me at least, most of my stories where made with just the 3666 castle and the castle expansion with breakable wall that was released a year or two after that castle.
-
It is amazing how many possibilities steck allows...
I remember playing for HOURS with just the magician's workshop (my sister got that.. so the steck downfall is her fault!)
-
I've seen a lot of cool setups like yours, Rhalius. I might eventually get some Steck, but now I'd have to find it all used, and to get complete sets can be quite expensive. Especially since I was thinking more along the lines of that gigantic Steck Bastille that someone made a few years ago.
-
For the sake of the kingdom, here is a better (clearer) picture of the castle as it stands now:
At least as it stood before... this horde of evil-doers and other assorted miscreants decided to attack:
Unfortunately for the band of miscreants, Pynedor and his compatriots have dealt with this sort of thing before and can thus easily defend the kingdom:
As seen here though, they have yet to afford banners that actually look like banners and that are cut properly.
They also had some assistance from the kingdom's prominent denizens, who decided to gather in the small area within the castle walls and talk about what they should do. Meanwhile, the castle defenders were already dealing with the threat.
As you can see, the golden knight made an appearance donning his new Golden Dragonslaying Helm, in case the evil-doers were to summon any of the fearsome creatures. As I have no dragons, this is unlikely. :-\

Thanks, DrDalek6. They have since repelled the invaders, and all is at peace.

That's the beauty of it - you do not need complete sets. System X you really do for most buildings, but with Steck you can just use pieces here and there and add them together to make and expand your own creations.
Another good thing about Steck is that it takes up a lot less space when you disassemble it.
-
Hmm, I've gotten a few new things in the last few months. I got the Medieval House and barn Add-On, which is awesome. I only had time to build it once and then take it apart again, but I am liking the Steck. I knew I would, but it does seem to be harder to find nowadays!
I also got some Fi?ures from series 5 (Thanks, Tiermann).
Lastly, I got two of the dragon bags for the figures. I wanted to make sure that I got one of the new bows, a guandao, and a dao sword. I really like these new weapons. They are awesome! I was a bit surprised that the dao is flexible though; I think it'd have been better if it weren't. The only other things from this theme I think I'll get are the expansion figure packs and maybe some spare parts.
I'm also looking forward to the Scottish Highlander from Fi?ures series 6, as he has a claymore with a painted leather-wrapped hilt! These historical items make the future look very good for historical releases! :)
And here is just another picture of some of my favourite figures:

Great purchases Toysrus didn't have any of the latest series of Boys figures when I checked so I still haven't got the blue and silver Knight who I'd like as he looks cool :( not so keen on the Dragon figures but, the weapons look good very interesting and useful no dobut and I like both of the shield designs I knwo the round ones just like ones we've already got in different colurs but, it looks good to me. Liking that last photo as well the woman looks good with the flowers in her hair and diggin g that gold knight as well :knight:
-
Thanks! Good luck finding the new figures. It is hard to find them sometimes. :-\
-
What a beautiful, amazing set-up! I can imagine having a castle set-up like that. I would never get sick of it.
Absolutely LOVE the white female soldier with the chainmail neckpiece and dagger.
-
Thanks! The System X castle is the only one I have (for now). :)
-
And here is just another picture of some of my favourite figures:
Wow, I really like that woman ;)
I'm looking forward to the scot too.. he's so gorgeous, in nice colors. I thought a claymore was a mine :-[

Great castle and very nice figures!!!

Not his! What you're thinking of was named after the sword.
Great castle and very nice figures!!!
George.
Thanks! :)
-
That Joan of Arc type lady is my favourite too. She looks so cool!
It's funny to see people are trying to convince you of the brilliance of steck as opposed to system-X. It's usually the other way around :)
-

Learn and live! I had NO idea!

Thanks! :) I'd like to do more simple customs like her and the others, but I haven't had much time lately.

Well, Playmobil Hype decided that since I bought Hype: The Time Quest more than two years ago, I might as well get around to saving his virtual self and his betrothed... So I finally got around to installing the game, and it is really awesome, actually. I would play the Playmobil World MMORPG even if it had graphics of this quality, just because it is that cool to play in this world. And if it were designed with even half the quality that this game was, it would surely be awesome.
I wasn't expecting it at all, but the voice acting and music in the game is absolutely fantastic. I've only played it for a few minutes, but I plan to aid Hype in his struggle all the way to the end when I have time.
It's also just great to see all the actual figures that are in the game!

If you can get ahold of this game, I definitely recommend it. I bought my copy new, still in the shrink wrap, and it was actually quite cheap. Of course, I opened it right away, haha, and they seem to be going for a higher price now. Anyway, it can be a tad difficult to install and play the game on newer operating systems, but if anyone has any issues with that, just ask me, and I should be able to help you out!

It looks quite cute, think I saw parts of a playthrough somewhere once.
Graphics do look a little dated, would be great if a new game like this was released with graphics a bit better. Doesnt need to be anything too special though, just enough to capture the details of the figures better and a little more details in the enviroment.
I really do think that playmobil has the potential of creating games similar to the lego games.. that kind of quirky fun but without being bound by a license.
-
It's a fun game, I've played it through quite some years ago, and I found it surprisingly difficult in some parts!
-

The controls can be a bit difficult to master, but so far I've only fought a few wild boars and a band of highwaymen as in the pictures. :D It's cool to know that there will be some difficult enemies later! It is definitely a much more involved game than I had thought. I think it's a lot better than the newer games (the Knight and Pirates ones).

Cute - I saw part of a German play through awhile back.
-
that looks like a neat game, I never liked any of the games but perhaps the kids will. Right now they are into minecraft, darn thing looks like lego.
-
Ok, I'll take you up on that. I bought all three AGES ago, and NEVER managed to install Hype or Laura. Played and reviewed Alex on playkingdoms back then...
So, do you have detailed instructions? :-[
I think I probably tried to install those games on all the computers I had since then :(

What operating system are you using?
Currently, win 7 Pro 64 bits.
Tried at least with 98, 2000, XP :(
(maybe you should open a new thread about this? I wonder if there aren't more people out there with the same problem :-[ )
-

Hmm, I was going to suggest firstly to install the games on an older system and then transfer the files to your Windows 7, but you've already tried that it seems. Unless you mean that you attempted to run the game in compatibility modes for those operating systems, which probably wouldn't work. The easiest way to get it onto your 64 bit system would be to directly download the files instead of trying to use the packaged installer.
If you can do that:
Inside the folders, there should be an application file called MAID3DVR_BLEU. Run that to play the game. The introduction movie may not play (the files are inside the game folders though, so you can watch the movies whenever you want). In any case, press [ESC] to skip to a Ubisoft loading screen when you hear music playing or the introduction movie. After that (it should take only a second or so to load on your Windows 7, tahra), the game will start.
Keep in mind that you will need to insert the game disc or use a copy of the ISO image in a virtual drive to actually play.
(maybe you should open a new thread about this? I wonder if there aren't more people out there with the same problem :-[ )
If you really think so, then I probably could. A quick search shows that the game has been discussed a few times on the forum briefly already. I would really just suggest what I have above for now. :D Check your private messages though, tahra. I have included a bit more information for you there.
As far as getting your other older games to work, I would suggest trying to install them on an older system to transfer the files. You could always use a virtual machine to install an older operating system and try that route if you don't have access to an older machine any longer, but that would probably be much more difficult for most people.
-
Looks like a cool game I'm sure if it had been around when I was a kid I would have played it and really enjoyed it (probably been rubbish at it as well :-[ ;D) I've had a few games from Ubisoft and the graphics were quite good they look quit encie on this game as well
-
It really is quite fun! :) I'll probably post some more images if I find anything really interesting in the game world as I play through it.
Also, today I got these two awesome cars. They are sort of based on the real 1986 Suzuki Swift GTi, considering that they've got emblems on the back that say "Swift GSi". To me, they look just as much like the Volkswagen Mk2 or Renault 5 Supercinq. I'll be fine just considering them to be cool fantasy hatchbacks of the Playmobil world though. I have always wanted to get some of these older Playmobil vehicles, and I'm glad that I chose these ones to be my first modern items. I just need modern people to drive them and ride in them now, ha!
It's hard to tell in the picture, but the one on the left is a bit faded, and the one on the right is essentially mint. I'll be keeping that one as it is, and I eventually plan to customise the faded one.
-
They're gorgeous!! Is it the 3739 blue car that is supposed to have stickers with yellow stripes on the sides?
I really like it without the stickers. And I'm curious about your customizing plans.
-
Yes, that's the one. They aren't stickers though. It's printing. :)
-
Here is the first phase of the custom. It's been primered and has some new wheels. :D

*Hype: The Time Quest spoilers follow*
Hmm, in the Hype game I encountered some Knights Templar! I wasn't expecting them to make an appearance in the game! It was great. I met one named Talboth, sprung him from the dungeon, and then he turned out to be a traitor, so I had to fight off the lot of the Templars at their monastery fortress.
The Templars look great in the game. Seeing all of these familiar figures is fantastic. At every turn there pops up a Medieval peasant or Special figure that I recognise from some set. I actually wonder whether some of them were created because of this game. I know at least that the Hype special was, and I always wondered why that Special (4616 if you're wondering) was so unique, what with that sword and all.

This game gets better and better, but it makes me wish even more for the MMORPG that never turned up. I would play that all the time!
-
Beware, this game is simple yet addictive!!!!!!! ;)
-
Beware, this game is simple yet addictive!!!!!!! ;)
Indeed, it is! The one thing that actually helps though is how there is no leveling or equipment systems; if there were I'd have spent even longer training on the enemies and collecting useless loot and such.
-
Nice cars the one you've customised is already looking very smart just for being repainted in that nice grey colour, I'm not a car expert so the nearest thing I can draw comparison to is the toy Saab car which I had as a kid it's certainly got a good sleek shape to it. Guess shouldn't be to surprised the Templar Talboth was a traitor after all you did spring him from jail so there must be reason why he got there in the first place unless someone just didn't like Templars
-

Ah, yes. Well, Playmobil Hype and game Hype have both dealt with Talboth and his cohorts.

The golden knight that I made earlier has remained one of my favourite customs that I've done so far, and I've wanted to create a similar one with silver armour. This custom is my first attempt at that, but he isn't finished at all yet and needs some tweaking. I also need a permanent figure to use as the base since this one is not meant to be customised.
Anyway, I think he turned out well:

And thank you SO MUCH for the help with Hype (it doesn't recognize the mouse?) - I have located my CD, now need a few hours!

He looks great, but have you tried the silver "great helm" from the silver/blue dragon knight from the latest Fi?ures on him?I think that might work well too!Just an idea of course-he looks great as he is! :)
-
I really like the silver guy! And the dragons' leg armor fits! :o Needs more careful looking into!
Yes! After talking to you about the dragons in your thread, I remembered wondering whether they fit when I bought the bags. So I went and made this quick custom right away. It does fit and looks cool, but he can't sit, of course. I'll have to try out some other things.
And thank you SO MUCH for the help with Hype (it doesn't recognize the mouse?) - I have located my CD, now need a few hours!
Sure thing. :) The mouse isn't used in the game from what I've seen. I'd say getting used to the controls are the most difficult thing about the game. I was thinking about buying a USB controller just to make this game more enjoyable.

Thanks, Erik. As I'm sure you guys have seen, I really like this Sugarloaf style helm and probably overuse it. But I did try the one you mentioned along with several others, and a lot of them look really good. I'm not sure which one to go with for the final version of this custom though. First, I need to find some donor legs for it since currently that is a Templar underneath the armour (you can see his swordbelt that I've covered with the plate), and I don't want to sacrifice one of them. Legs with those small shoes aren't on any of the newer figures though.

The black knight's helmet is called a sugarloaf? As I've said before, I'm not fond of helmets that cover the face :-[
And I do wish there were more of those simple "medieval legs" (not in green, blue!) - had problems finding those for the figures blue knight's men!
-
Ah, didn't think of that (the sitting part...) - I suppose he can't sit even without the armor and belt?
Nope, the part of the leg armour at the top that sticks out stops him from sitting. :(

And I do wish there were more of those simple "medieval legs" (not in green, blue!) - had problems finding those for the figures blue knight's men!
Yup, because it looks like a sugarloaf. And those simple legs are great, but I doubt with the newer trends that we'll see them very often anymore.
-

Darn. Wonder if they could be.... trimmed a bit............

Right. Why make boring metal+black legs, with so MANY WONDERFUL combinations available?! Bright green and that godsawful blueish.. BRIGHT pink and purple... ::)
-

Yup, because it looks like a sugarloaf.
Just to clarify, you meant the black knight as in the Special 4517, right? The one he has, along with the Dragon Slayer helm and the one that my white knight and new silver have are the sugarloaf ones. The one that my black knight with the cape has isn't. ;)

Indeed.

That's quite a team you have there, though you might want to give that poor girl some more equipment! already no helmet for her, and she only gets a kitchen knife as a weapon while the others get big swords, flails and axes. ;)
Nice pictures of your hype knight fighting the templars too!
-
Very nice !!!!!
PS: these leg armor parts what part number are they and what set are they from? i reckon i might be getting 'a few ' as i am thinking to armor up me black lion guard and trying to work out the best armor combo for the lean and the not so lean black lion klickies ( 3 types ) ...

Thanks, Rhalius. I considered giving her one of those fire staves, but it didn't look right. Somehow I've just not been able to find a weapon that fits well, and I like the flowers better than any helm I've tried on her. She's so agile that it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks, Giorginetto. :) The leg armour parts are from the new Asian Dragonland bags. They are supposed to be for the equippable dragons, but they do fit the older, narrow legs. According to the parts sheet:
30 25 6163 Silver Leg Armour
30 25 6173 Silver Pauldron, Shoulder Armour
The helms and tail armour don't fit human figures.
-
Great customs, Pynedor! I've got some of the asian dragons too and it didn't come up in my mind the leg armour would fit a klicky. The silver guy looks best without shield.. when you have armour and sword like that, who needs a shield?
-

Thank you, Lynx. :) And I agree with you. He does look best without a shield. As I was putting him together, I thought that the best weapon for him could be the new claymore from the Highlander Fi?ure, which obviously he wouldn't need a shield for since it is a two-handed weapon! Once I get one, I'll have to try it out.
-
Just saw the claymore.. fantastic idea! Love that fi?ure anyway. Want to sea the result!
-
I got a few new things today. The prices sure seem to be increasing lately, especially with the Specials Plus. I'd rather have just the figures without the added things for a lower price... :-\
(http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l145/SummonNightz/DSC03896_zps720ec35e.jpg)
I got the guard on the upper left for parts mainly since I already have one.
-
Nice purchases it's annoying if they keep raising the prices but, I've gotta say I do quite like the look of that special plus figure and those accessories that hairpeice is interesting, the Mongolian warrior also looks very nice I like the colour scheme on him as well :)
-
The Special Plus is definitely cool and will fit with the other Green Dragon Knights that all use that colour scheme. I think they are finally turning away from that though. And the Mongolian warrior special is great too. That and the other older Special (bought for parts) were on sale! :)
-
I tried some of the things that you guys suggested and some other random ideas.
I am fond of this magical ice sword :D:
This is the only helm that looked alright on her:
I tried some different arm guards on this custom:
Then I tried the great helm with some black pieces:
...and a red dragon slayer helm:
I also tested out a custom dragonhide-armoured archer. This one will need some adjusting too, but the red and black colour combination turned out better than I expected. I'm not sure if I want to keep that or go with dark metal and black or just black. :-\

Those look great. The archer would look nice with red shoulder caps.
-

Thanks, Tiermann. :) That's a good idea, but the cape (with quiver) wouldn't fit with them. I might be able to find some other way to attach a quiver though.
-
Very nice figures and I like espacially the female customs!!!
George. :)

Here's a more final version of the archer (with some nice boots!):
And here's another new picture:

I haven't had much time to get anything new lately, but I did get some new parts a long time ago that I finally got around to looking at.
I got a new silver jeweled shield for Pynedor, a new dagger for him (I really like the new dagger style, though this isn't in the picture), got some new armguards for the female knight, updated my archer so that he is finished, and added a magic caster to the group (I think she turned out well for being assembled out of spare parts :)).
I do seem to be running very low on arrows though. They don't seem to ever be in stock, in any colour. :(
-
Very fine gallery of characters :)
I really love the Lady on the right handside
Karim
-
Thank you! :) I like her too. I've wanted to have a magic user for a long time but only recently got that staff piece.
-
Nice customs! I love the white lady with the magical sword, and the way the fact that the archer seems to be in disguise even more, because of his black beard and moustache :)
-
The lady looks fabulous!
-
Thank you! :)

Thanks, tahra! My camera can only take good (or slightly good) pictures in natural light.

I L-O-V-E your pics of the Dragon hunt!

Great pictures. Did they find any?
-
I L-O-V-E your pics of the Dragon hunt!
Thanks. :)
Great pictures. Did they find any?
They did not. I don't actually have any dragons. They heard that some may be prowling about soon though (I'm planning to get the new set 6003; I really like the new style green dragon in that set). ;)
-
Brilliant stuff I really like all your combinations the black and red work well together your present team looks good the femalle Knight looks good and I like those ice swords. They look as though they're having a really good time out in the woods hunting dragon the archer looks good out in the open, and I really like the other Kinght with his red shield and crest that new sword holster works great as well :knight:
-
Great figures, love your magic caster.
-
Thanks, mates! ;)
-
Great pictures with very nice figures!! Well done Pynedor!!
George. :)
-
The female knight is absolutely gorgeous!!
I love the ice swords, where are they from?
-
Thank you! :)
I love the ice swords, where are they from?
The ice sword comes with the merman warrior or guardian in three sets: 5882, 4817, and 5002. It might be available in other sets, but I'm not sure. I ordered that one with a parts order.
-
Thank you! :)

That explains why I've never seen it before, have never looked closely at the mermaid sets. Making a note!
-
After seeing the next wave of stuff that's on the way, I decided that I'd try to find some of the stuff that's still available that I want. I found these three Fi?ures, all ones that I really wanted and hadn't found yet! :)
The king is pretty ordinary, but the printing on the crown surprised me; it looks great!. The Aladdin figure is cool. I don't have any of the Native Americans with those legs and was wondering how they'd be, but they seem fine to me. The Maleficent figure is a lot better than I had imagined, especially with the awesome green head turned to the good side! :D
-
I always try to keep my sets complete, and I try to get other parts together whenever I make customs. Well, when I opened the Maleficent figure that I just showed, I found that the package contained two of the green heads! This made me think of a cool idea for a custom using the extra head that could join my other fantasy customs, and so I put this together!
I tried to get some cool pictures. These two are the best. :)

Thank you for the close-up photos of the Maleficent Fi?ure, she looks quite nice. The king is gorgeous, as well!
Great buys! :)
-
Cool, those rays of light shining on him in that first picture.
-
Now that is what I define as a Knight in shining armour
Beautiful !
Karim
-
I really like the three F?gures you decided to get, especially Malificent. I hadn't noticed the colour on the king's crown either.
And that picture with the spooky knight (or is he nautious? ;D) is absolutely stunning!! Congratz
-

Thanks! :) I thought that picture turned out cool with the Sun also.
And that picture with the spooky knight (or is he nautious? ;D) is absolutely stunning!! Congratz
Thanks, Birdie. I haven't exactly figured out where he fits into my group of characters yet. I was thinking that he could be some kind of spirit who wanders the forest (like the Green Knight from Sir Gawain and the Green Knight) or who is enchanted (he does have a magical ice sword), or even a goblin knight from faraway or something.
-
Cool buys I agree about the legs on the Alladin figure being good for an Indian brave not so much for an Arab figure btu, forutnately it's not all that noticeable. Really like that custom Knight you've made with the green head he looks good with his magic sword and you've got some good ideas for his story as well, I managed to get a similar shot with the light reflecting of one of my knights on horseback a while back it can work quite well provided it doens't blind out the subject
-
This knight is so scary !! :o :o :o
-
Haha, I didn't think that he was very scary.
He's here again with some extra ice swords!

Thanks! :) I like that one too. I want to get a similar one in natural light soon that's not so blurry.

You certainly are asssembling quite a good squad of Knights, personally I liked the photo of him in front of the log better I thought it really brought out the blue in his armour then looked back and realised it was just me being inobservant before :-[ I really like those ice swords definately want at least one or two in my collection :knight:
-
That blue knight looks nice, just hoping he is not green with envy for your avatar's position though! Or maybe he is just seasick. ;)

From the realm of the mysterious, blue knight come two new mages. One is of the same kind as the enchanted knight and brings the ancient magic of their people. The other is a human acolyte who has trained in the dark magic of the green ones.

Thanks, tahra! And yes, I'd never use the other side.

Awesome photos cool that you've got another female Mage, I really like what you've done with that guy dressed in red and black and the fella climbing the tree looks interesting as well. I particularly like the photoo where they're meeting the Blue Knight really shows of his armour and blue plume. The outdoor setting is indeed great for taking nautralistic photos :knight: hopefully we'll see more of this

Thanks! I wanted to make more characters that could potentially fight at distances to watch the walls of the keep, as I only have one archer. I had a whole bunch of designs for new ones, but I have no arrows! I have a bunch of quivers, but Playmobil keeps telling me that their arrow supplies are out of stock in all colours. So I'll stick to those who practice magic for now. ;)

Ah, yes. I think so too. And the low quality pictures from my camera look alright in natural light too.

Maybe they can use the magical invisible arrows the fairy with horse seems to have?

Great pictures again and you have done excellent job with your new figures!! I like them very much!!
George. :)

I don't think so. I almost considered something like that, but it just didn't look right. I also tried making a plant stem look like a magical arrow or something. The next time that I try to order some of the normal arrows, I plan to try to get some of those flaming arrows (the individual ones) also.
-
The next time that I try to order some of the normal arrows, I plan to try to get some of those flaming arrows (the individual ones) also.
Problem with those is that they won't fit in the quivers... only good to stick somewhere, of for them to hold - the non flaming ones!
-

Luckily I managed to get some more quivers and arrows, and I did not actually get any of the individual ones! :) Hopefully I'll be able to make a lot more custom archers soon.
-
It's been a while since I've had some time to post some more figures that I made. Here are a few that I made over the recent months.
These three fantasy Vikings will hopefully have a ship soon!
The black and red figure didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, but I like the simple black and gold king.
I finally gathered enough parts to make a second golden dragon knight!
I also made a small green goblin-like figure to join my fantasy characters. :)
I reckon this armoured knight turned out well!

My hooded archer got a new bow, and I made another archer (mostly from the Eagle Castle archer).
And... lastly some familiar faces came out to enjoy the winter season. ;)

Thanks, Tiermann! I agree. I like simple designs, and I almost think the red and black one is too bizarre, haha. I don't think that one will stay like it is.
-
Some grogeous klickys there - good use of the green arms with the red line.. :)
I think the gold+black guy turned out great, and so did the golden dragon knights
Great idea on the goblin too!

Which ones do you mean?

Which ones do you mean?
I mean normal arms that have coloured hands - like all silver or gold, or white or black sleeves with metal-gloved or other solid colour hands... basically any arm that doesn't have skin-coloured hands.
I keep putting designs together and find that I have no suitable arms.

I thought you meant a particular one... I could look on the poptubs... ;)
(HATE it when that happens - you have something in mind, and then.... no arms, or no feet, or no something >:( )

Ah, thanks! I have so many that I could use, I'll probably never have enough. But thanks for the offer! ;)

Yes! Now I'm trying to find 5166 at a reasonable price. I'm going to buy like 10 of them for the parts. It has to be the ultimate DuoPack for parts. :D I need a ton of those black leather vambraces, and the new black longbow, white swordbelt, and white platelegs are amazing!
I'm working on this one now which could probably use those platelegs (and not sure about whether to remove the plate printing; too bad it's not the lighter silver!).

I WANT that bow too (a Black Radly!) and the red klicky, shields, and the white belt, yes... And the white neckpiece! If you want to get rid of those, look no further ;)
I suppose the legs will do, but like I told you, I'm not fond of either of the plated ones. I prefer the first ones.
(Vambraces... aren't those wrist things? )

He looks nice - there isn't that torso in light metal, is there? (and those are amazing pics, btw)

Better - practice summoning magical parts! ;D
(and if that works, teach me how! :P )

Hmm, I never liked that style of neckpiece much. I feel like it's always loose. And I'm not sure whether I'll be getting any of the main line of red falcon knights, so those shields might be unused too. Perhaps some kind of trade will be in the future. :D

Haha, I know. I kept switching between the two, and I can't decide which style I like most. The special for the older one is hard to find. And yes, bracers as you call them, for the wrists. ;) The archer has one on his right arm, hidden behind the shield.
He looks nice - there isn't that torso in light metal, is there? (and those are amazing pics, btw)
Nope, not that I could find. And thanks!
Better - practice summoning magical parts! ;D
(and if that works, teach me how! :P )
Haha, yes! I'll get on that.
-
Hmm, I never liked that style of neckpiece much. I feel like it's always loose. And I'm not sure whether I'll be getting any of the main line of red falcon knights, so those shields might be unused too. Perhaps some kind of trade will be in the future. :D
Well, do let me know :) I'll need a few of those shields too - and all of those neckpieces - we both love them

Awesome!

Love that summoning photo! Although maybe that's reanimating instead?
-
Nice figures your new Knight and the black and red/black and gold figures have a nice simple design but, they look good. The Goblins a great idea nice colours and I like the Vikings great choice of shirt particularly the white one with the blue and yellow collar. I really like your other new Knight with the big Highlanders sword and the blue sword the Roman torso works nicely as does the interesting angle on the first photo, I see what you mean about the printing it looks good personally I think the wings could work as a nice design to add some light and shade.
That Duopack does look like it contains some reasonably nice useful figures. It's good to see your golden Dragons Knights again looking good and the idea for Summoning the Skeletons from the grave works well in the snow

Thanks for the kind words! :) The red and black knight has already met his demise, unfortunately.
And yes, I agree, the snow did work well!

I finally managed to get some Series 8 Fi?ures. I found a place that had an untouched box and got all four of the Crusaders, wizards, and kings and a few Vikings. :)
I haven't had too much time lately to make new custom figures, but I did change around some of the pieces for a nice crossbowman and an ice wizard:
I like to have most of my figures be able to stow their accessories on their backs or on belts or straps if possible to keep their hands free whilst not actively engaging in combat or other activities. However, I am unfortunately out of weapon clips (the kind that go on capes and such with pegs), and my magic staff users mostly use these. So until I can find more of those, I'll likely not be making much progress on more mages or wizards or the like. :-\
-
This thread is a gem, with such beautiful photography
I'm not a big fan of the wizzard's short sleeves, but I think his robes and his hat look great.

Thank you very much for the kind words, Birdie! :)
I agree about the sleeves. I tried a few different things, but I didn't have many good arms available. I settled with the sleeves and those white bracelets, but I'll keep looking for some better arms. ;)
-
I like the crossbow figure - particularly his shield :)
-
Today I got most of the new Knights sets that I wanted from the new batch (sorry about the flash :(). I am particularly happy that I got a few of set 5166! :D I can't wait to start opening the stuff and trying out some new combinations of parts.

Thanks! :)
-
Nice choices :) Are you going for the big castle too?
-
There are some nice sets for sure, though I am not quite sold on the two knight factions of this new batch. Lion castle is beautifull, shields and banners too, but the soldiers look like clowns.
-
Nice choices :) Are you going for the big castle too?
Thanks! I don't plan to get the big castle for now. It's quite expensive, and I'd rather buy more DuoPacks or Fi?ures.

Ha! Yes, they do look sort of strange and over colourful and printed. That's one of the reasons why I like the DuoPack 5166 so much. The red figure is very basic and can be used in many different factions. He reminds me of the older Knights. And the white figure is really just a giant source of parts. I might keep two or so of them as they are. The DuoPack really does have a great amount of parts; this was clear when I opened the first one and laid out all the pieces. :)
-
Very nice buys. I want the same knights sets except the one with the dragon.
Have a good fun with them! :)
George.

Thanks! It took me a while to decide whether I wanted the dragon, but I eventually decided to go for it.
-
To me it seems like the nicest dragon they released so far. :)
-
It's nice, I like some aspects of it, but I don't like the way it stays low to the ground and can't sit up very high. Likewise I don't like the hands that can't grip objects in the same way as a klicky. My favorite is still the first really large black dragon.
-
nice buys, though i'm not into Castle that much. The dragon and the dwarf with treasure i like the most.
the dragon actually reminds me a lot of the "Efteling draak"
-
Me too, I think that's why I like this one so much :) It's the archetypical dragon, in my mind!
-
Same here yes, I grew up with that dragon! I am pretty sure they based it on him. I'd imagine some of the design team may have visited the Efteling after all considering that german tourists often flood the country.
-

That's cool! :) I definitely see the resemblance.

Aye, that's how I felt when I first saw it too. :)

I found more of the 5166 DuoPack. :D
(http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l145/SummonNightz/DSC05540_zpsjisy7tbr.jpg)
I've thought of a few ideas for what to do with the figures after pillaging them for parts. As I mentioned, the red figures are great for many factions. I've turned some of mine into crossbowmen for now.
I was also trying to think of what to do with the blue figures. I don't particularly like either of the new faction designs (and consequently the shields from the set), and I wasn't sure of the gold and silver clash on these figures at first. But... then I tried a few things, and I came up with the idea to make some of them into dual swordsmen.
I also thought they would make a nice addition to the unicorn knights. :)
-
Oh, I quite like that dual swordsmen idea, I might have to borrow that sometimes for a clicky. :)
Just the other day I got the new Mongolian figure and his back seems a mess with a quiver and a large sheathe for his katana, this seems like a better use for such a neckpiece.
-
Oh, I quite like that dual swordsmen idea, I might have to borrow that sometimes for a clicky. :)
Thanks, Rhalius. :) I have a few figures like that. Several of my Green Dragon knights have the same swords.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. ;) I don't have one of those yet, but that is a bit much putting that large sheath with a quiver. The small weapon holder isn't so bad though.
-
What is holding the two swords on his back? I haven't bought any knights in a long time, so I'm not sure if it's something new, or a piece I'm forgetting or ...?
-

That (GORGEOUS) neckpiece has two pegs in the back - same pegs as those straps that appeared with the vikings.
You can put two "loops" there and hold two swords... Or use those "grabbers" and put a bow... a shield.. whatever.
The same neckpiece is also used for wings.
(btw, Pynedor, if you are looking to get rid of those neckpieces.... let me know ;) )

Is this the Mongolian in Series 9?
-
Yep, I might take pictures later today of my new purchases. :)
-
Awesome!
-
Ah, I'm jealous. I want those orange robes from that Mongolian archer. I have a small group of dark wizards that use the purple robes with the same printing.
On the note of magic users, I also experimented a bit more with making one of my blue wizards into some sort of cursed ice wizard. I think it turned out well.

Yeah, that turned out really well, he looks great!

Thanks, Salamander! :)

Oh very nice Ice Wizard! I've used the purple body before with a custom painted deer hat, but the blue woul probably look better. Looking forward to getting the new orange for sure.
-
That ice wizzard looks awesome! :)
-
Very nice ice mage!

He looks very nice :)

I had time to send a few of the DuoPack parts to some others too. My archer received his long-awaited black longbow. I think that I can say he is finally complete!

And the perhaps equally long-awaited white platelegs...

I'm still not entirely sure about the dark metal plate. It looks okay, but it would be perfect if it were the lighter silver.
And the last one for now - a dark metal and crimson knight. :)

You've got a cool style.
-
Nice new armor for your avatar, and for his evil twin as well. ;)
-
Great additions and customs, Pynedor! That ice wizard looks awesome! Did not notice the white knight of the duo pack has such great platelegs! I don't really like the new knight sets but this one is an exception. Have to get a few, I guess.
Did you rub the blue stripes away for your avatar? The new dwarf king has a torso which would fit well for green dragon officers or kings, I think.
Thanks for sharing!
-

Thank you, Macruran. :D

Thanks, Rhalius. I can see why you would say that. Perhaps I equip too many knights with the Sugarloaf helm.

Thank you, Lynx. I agree about the new Knight sets; the DuoPack is definitely my favourite of the lot. And yes, I did clean off the blue stripes.
I've yet to get any Fi?ures from Series 9, so I don't have the new dwarf yet. Thanks for the idea though! :) I have many Green Dragon warriors and have been collecting more.
-
I really like the white and silver combo with the Roman torso and the knight legs, very classy looking.
-
Since I last updated this, I've worked on gathering and outfitting more Green Dragon Knights.

Yes, love the warrior women..
Good strategic use of the long necklace on the Lady Gaga figure!
And I was gonna say it was a great use for the lady c... gaga figure too ;)
Very nice!
-
I like how you used the roman woman.
At least its easy enough to find clickies with that color combination, Geobra seems to love that combination of those two shades of green.
-
Thanks!

Yes, it is! I'm not sure how long that will last though, so I'm trying to gather more parts in these colours now. ;)
-
Very nice aqdditions and great customs!! Excellent idea with the Roman woman!
George. :)

Gorgeous customs
-
Thanks!
I also recently got the parts for this archer:
And I put together this mage after getting a few of the Series 9 Fi?ures:

Gorgeous archer, and a great idea for the mage.... A shame about the wand color, though... can you imagine that in browns? :wall:
-

Yes! I wish it were available in more colours. It really isn't that bad in pink for this figure though, and I do prefer a magical staff over a wand. ;)
-
That is one handsome archer 8-)
-

Well, though the color DOES match, in this case, I find it ridiculous to have a pink transparent wand. Like the wizard staff :( And both have such amazing sculpts, mostly ruined by the silly color :(
-
I thought this thread would be a pure summary of purchased sets, but I see it also includes customs :)
My favourite is the Ice Wizzard 8-)

Thanks! I only changed around the accessories; the figure comes like that in a few older sets. ;)

Yes, yes, I agree... I just think of them as glowing with magical energy or something.

Haha, I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I was thinking about what you said recently too, and it really is just about my collection in general. I should probably change the title of the thread... but the alliteration...
-
Yes, yes, I agree... I just think of them as glowing with magical energy or something.
Yes, we must, right?

Seriously, what it that pink hand-hold piece?
It doesn´t look like a kind of sceptre to me ... ???
-
Seriously, what it that pink hand-hold piece?

It's a magical wand. A wand is like a magical staff, just much smaller.
-
a magical staff
Ahum... ;D
Sorry, couldn´t resist :P
Thanks for explaining, and the meaning of the word "wand", which I didn´t know. I would have had to look up "wand", in Dutch/Flemish it means "wall". I insist the piece looks akward, even as a magical wand for sorcerers etc.
-
Thanks for explaining, and the meaning of the word "wand", which I didn´t know.
So I assume you've never seen a Harry Potter movie? ;D
-
Excellent customs! Those green dragon knights are wonderful! And the ice wizard!
-

Not so many; the first one, and 2 of the many sequels if I remember correctly. :-[
-
Not so many; the first one
Aha, then you should be familiar with: "The wand chooses the wizzard, Harry." 8-)
I accept the pinkness of the wand for a brightly coloured witch, the translucency is quite nice. If only they'd do wands in other colours too for a change!! >:(
-
I have a lot of parts lying around from 5166 DuoPacks and from Series 8 King figures, and I finally made some figures out of them.
I made these dual-sword knights:
The black bows went to some of my archers:
A white belt and one of the king's two-handed swords went to this knight:
I turned the kings into fantasy-style flamberge knights:
I also put together this dark metal and yellow knight:
Sugarloaf helms abound as usual on my knights...
I might make a few minor changes, but overall, I feel like this batch of customs turned out great. :D DuoPack 5166 is fantastic for gathering parts for simple, clean, classic-looking knights, and DuoPack 6847 looks to be another great one. Hopefully I'll find some of those soon.
-
Inspiring work.

I completely agree, very nice customs, and those DuoPacks are a great resource!
I particularly like the last, dark metal & yellow knight - great idea to use the legs from 4435/4438! Too bad that not all parts are available in all colours. I would have been utterly perfect if the belt had matched the other shade of yellow.
Best wishes
StJohn

Thanks. :)

Thanks! And yes, I wish the belt were the exact shade of yellow too. There's a pirate sash in the same yellow, but it wouldn't fit with the hood and wouldn't look right on a knight. :-\
-
I really like the third one down...great work :)
-
I finally found some Series 10 Fi?ures. The Fire Mage and Fantasy Archer really make this an awesome series, and the giant ghost pirate was surprisingly cooler than I expected (see low quality glow-in-the-dark picture below :)). The rice farmer's conical hat is great too, but the fairy warrior's printed face doesn't look very good (and mine was terribly off-centred...).

That is a common face in the fairies... I never know which way it works, but you may try that silly crooked hair on the off face.. I was lucky, and my misprinted heads were off in the right direction :D
-

The picture may make it look a bit better than it is, but one eye is about at the edge of the mouth, and the other eye is nowhere close to lined up with the edge of the mouth. :-\
The only acceptable solution to the printed head problem that I've found is to replace all of them with moulded ones. Even ones that aren't off-centred usually look bad.

It is a shame, that they moved to this cheap painted ones. Especially cause printing quality has been steadily decreasing for years :(
-
I've had some time to put a few more figures together (some fully-armoured knights this time).
First, I tried using the new Super 4 pauldrons for these two knights:
I really like the new pauldrons. I'll probably try to find some without the lion printing (especially for the knight on the left). I could take the printing off of some, but I'd rather not in case I find a better use for them.
I also made this white knight, a lot of the parts for whom came from DuoPacks 5166 and 6847. The one thing that I might change is to give him a silver swordbelt instead of the white one.

Great stuff. I'd say definitely a silver belt on that guy.
-
Great ones!

Better not clean them - they cost a fortune, compared with the non printed ones...

Agree on the belt!
I really wish he'd have the older knight legs... so so rare in white :'(

Great stuff.
Thanks!

Thanks! And yes, I'll wait until I find some plain ones. :)

Agree on the belt!
I'm starting to think that too. I was trying to find another use for the white belts.

Aha, well, I know how you feel about these legs. I'll have to try the older ones when I try the other belt.
-
I like them!! Especially this one with the shield on his back!! He looks great!
George. :)
-
Great stuff, the white knight looks fab!
-
very neat looking knights !!!!

Hey, everyone! It has been a few years since I've posted here regularly. I'm happy to be back and to talk with all of you again! I just spent a few hours reading through all of the great posts that I've missed. :)
Since this thread is about my collection, I'll also note that I've definitely not stopped collecting Playmobil and have increased the size of my collection by quite a lot over the last few years. Many of my new purchases have remained unopened though, since I haven't had as much time lately to open them or to make many custom figures. In a way, I suppose I've started to become more of a collector of unopened new sets. That doesn't mean that I don't open or plan to open them, but I usually only open a set when I have at least two of the same one. Recently, I purchased two more copies of my first set - Set 5792, the Blue Knight Playmobil Pal. I don't plan to open them, because I already opened my first one, which started all of this!
I've missed you all, and I look forward to posting here again! :D

Welcome back Pynedor!

I would like to start posting some pictures of my recent custom figures, but first I wanted to restore some of my favourite pictures from this thread since they are no longer available for viewing. Many of these were taken as I acquired new parts or made use of newly released parts over the years. Please find them below.

Such a great collection & so many cool knights! Are they mostly customs?
I'm feeling very glad I ordered the 6587 Dwarf King today because you show those shields with the jewels off really beautifully! (I need to find out what that silver version came with now).

Thank you! Yes, they are customs.

Those are some of my favourite shields! :D I've been looking for more of the blue and purple jewels for them, but they are quite difficult to find.
You can find the silver version in Set 4147, Set 5670, and Set 70187.
-
Apologies for the double post, but I wanted to add to the previous post that I ordered several of the silver shields as parts years ago. You can also order the jewels separately, which come on sticker paper and can be added to the shields.

Thanks for the info! 💜 The purple jewel in 70187 is very fancy! I don't really collect the knights/medieval sets (if space & funds allowed I would) but I know I'll get sucked in more at some point. it's just a matter of time.. I think I'm going to look for some armour for a custom figure I have in mind, i'm blaming you. :P

Playmobil skirted the concept with Super 4 but an actual rpg type fantasy theme with parties of adventurers would tie in all their fantasy themes. I wouldn't expect a guild hall but an entire fi?ures range dedicated to fantasy characters is a must.
Your customs are great as is your adventurer group.

That would be excellent. They have certainly released plenty of nice fantasy figures and parts (like the ones related to the green dragon knights in Macruran's thread), but more would certainly be welcome.
And, of course, there was the Playmobil World MMORPG (https://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=10585.msg196352#msg196352) that was never released. :(

Great customs, Pynedor and really excellent photography! Thanks for giving us chance to see all those figures together in one place.

Thanks! I'm glad that you like them. My camera is quite old, so I use natural light when I can to get somewhat decent pictures.
Here is a new one. It took a few years to get all of the parts together for this knight.

Shiny! I would rea)y love one of these, wish they would release the Museum again with a silver knight plucky like the orihinal.

Exactly, they've been producing bits for years, what I'd like to see are more of those interesting straps and prints like Alex from super 4.
-
Wow, he's giving the chromey knights from Boorman's Excaliber a run for their money.. He's stunning!

Beautiful pics
And that chrome knight is amazing!

Thanks!
Here are some more knights. These ones mostly have a classic style, but I made use of some newer parts for some of them. :)

With just a few different accessories, I think this Viking figure would fit nicely with the classic fantasy knights in the old Magic theme.

I like more natural colours too, but, as you know, they can be difficult to find!

Thanks! The flamberge swords are so large that they often look strange, but I do like the magic ones. :)
First in this next group are some armoured knights; one is a ghostly version!
A knight like this is what first came to mind when I saw the newer DuoPack Set 70821. I might try out some different helms, but gold ones are not so common. I wish there were a golden sugarloaf helm (there is one in the dragon slayer style with a green plume, but a normal one would be great)!

Great, ones, especially the grey ones (greys are right after browns!) - especially the last one .... hair excepted! :P
-
Those are all excellent customs. The ghost silver one could be a non-chromed version of the Museum armour figure since the chrome parts are so hard to find.
-
I really like pics of klickies outdoors in real nature. These are excellent! :bunny:

Ha! That is certainly not the best hair, but a hooded figure seemed like a good place to hide it. ;)

Thank you, Tiermann! Maybe Set 3449 will be reissued at some point. :)

Thanks! It's definitely a nice fantasy piece. I have a few of them, and I'd like to use them with more figures in the future. ;)
Here are some knights and a wizard that were made using parts from Set 70187 and Set 70223. The sorcerer in Set 70187 is one of the best Novelmore figures released so far!

Thanks! I really like the different magical swords and other items. It would be great if more were made, especially in varieties that make use of smaller blade or other item moulds. Most of the existing magical swords are quite large and can look oversized at times.
Speaking of magic, a traveling merchant with a surplus of pointy white hats recently appeared.

After mention of a bulk discount, it wasn't long before they were all purchased.

Lovely! So many white hats...

Was that a result of a mistake on a DS order Pynedor? I got 10 purplish top hats recently instead of 10 of something I actually wanted!

I really like the black ones, and that unusual purple.
Thanks! The black and white ones are some of my favourites. :)
The purple one came about after I bought some of those purple staves and wizard hats. I have been trying to order the black staves (from the green wizard in Fi?ures Series 4) without luck for years, so I finally tried to order some of the other colours and ended up with a few purple ones. Similarly, the purple hats were the only ones I could find for a long time, but I've had better luck with the different hats lately.
They're all great :)
And I really like the guy with the turban - that worked very well!
Thanks! That doesn't seem to be a common colour, so it was nice to see that the turban with the new DuoPack Set 70821 matched something.
-
Pynedor,
Catching up on about 2 months worth of your pics:
Nice use of lighting, on the translucent weapons especially!
I LOVE the look of your adventuring party. A good mix, aesthetically. The flower crown is more flattering than the dragon helm on your lady in white, IMO, but I could see how the helm might be safer work gear.... glad the party's archer found a friend. More ranged weapons are always a plus!
I always wondered what the green translucent bracers were good for... Necromancy!! Who woulda thunk it?
Really liked the various liches and wights. Good use of frost giant and undead pirates.
And generally: great use of parts! As previously mentioned, the blue-ish turban works great.
Always happy to see some high fantasy creations from you. Keep 'em coming!

That one from the fox mask woman is amazing! Need to click one like her, when I get my hands on extras.

The ones from Set 70076 (Marla's) are silver with grey printing, and the ones from Set 70378 (the dwarf knight's) are light grey with a very dark blue printing. ;)
-
Great customs, I had to go back to page 37 & look through all the ones with photos displaying again.
I respecially love the B&W group, the knight with the kendo mask (that mask is great, did they do a kendo figure at some point?), the ice knight, & the brown guy with the pointed hat & spiral staff. So cool!

Yes! I thought that the mask would work in a fantasy sort of setting too. It might not provide the best visibility for actual fighting, but it looks cool. :D I also used the chestplate from that figure on the warrior with the axe.
Here are two more fantasy knights.

Thank you for the kind comments!
The Series 22 (Set 70734) knight has some really nice parts. Here are some figures made using the torso.
As many have said, unlike most pieces the torso is printed on both sides. The printing isn't perfect, but it looks really nice!
The arms with silver hands are particularly nice too. Here is another knight.
One figure I was missing for a long time was the space warrior from Series 19 (Set 70566). The cape and hood have a really nice colour. I finally found two of them and opened one; one of the arms was moulded incorrectly and unusable, but at least the hood and cape were alright! :-\ I think they go well with the spear from Set 70187.

Great customs :)
I really like the archer from the figures' knight
-
Thank you! :)
Series 22 has some great figures. I think the series bags are likely some of the best selling sets (though maybe not the most profitable), but, with those new My Fi?ures sets coming out soon, I wonder whether the normal series releases will continue. They have been my main source of parts over the last several years, but it can be difficult keeping up with the new releases, especially when it is becoming more and more rare to find them in person.

Some great combinations there, with some pretty uncommon parts. Really like the woman with the Rembrandt torso and the bat fairy helmet. Great combination.
-
Great glowing eyes, didn't notice them before.

Thanks! I think that that leg style can look good on fully armoured knights, and I think that these black ones with the gold markings can look good on a greater variety of figures when used with some matching parts.

Thank you! :) I've been collecting different parts that I thought would work well with these colours.
Great glowing eyes, didn't notice them before.
Thanks! The head on the last figure with the red and yellow eyes is from the Series 21 (Set 70732) vampire. :)
-
Wow, all those black/white/gold ones are so dramatic & really gorgeous. Love the pale pink hair (is that from the fox mask DJ? I have some of those on the way & it looks SO much better on your lady!) & darn, I want some of those black kris type swords, they are very cool!!

Love the pale pink hair (is that from the fox mask DJ? I have some of those on the way & it looks SO much better on your lady!)
Yes, it is! :) I'd like to use the fox mask at some point too, but I need to find the right figure for it.
I want some of those black kris type swords, they are very cool!!
You might still be able to order them as parts. I've also found that Set 70076 is an excellent value for parts (and it includes the Black Knight with the sword).

Ditto - it's a beautiful part

Several of the figures in black and white clothing use the arms with the black sleeves and white trim and hands from the Lady Nightmare figure from EverDreamerz Series 2 (Set 70478). I think that the robe bottom from that figure can look alright if the white lines are thought to be folds of the robe (instead of an outline of legs). The one on the right has this robe bottom.

Great looking klickys!
I may have missed the lady nightmare nightmarish skirt used on the wizard! I will need to try that, since I never did figure out what to do with it!
And I love the female unicorn one with the annual peasant's torso!
-
They look amazing, Pynedor, thanks for sharing
They have a crisp look about them and it feels like they're straight out of a long lost knights theme set from the nineties.
-
Love  your custom work. Always great very natural looking combinations.

That piece can look like a trimmed robe at certain angles, but at others it just looks like the strange print that it is. :-\

Very nice :)
I'd prefer different legs than ballet shoes. But nice legs are not THAT common with speedos...

There certainly aren't very many great options, at least in matching colours. :-\ I tried to use the bracelets to make them look a bit more interesting.

The female mage looks great. Haven't seen that skirt before and it works well.

The block in that second to last picture looks like the entrance to a secret passage. Great lighting with that earlier one of the mage with the clear blue balls on his helmet and staff.

Thanks! I think the natural light helps with my old camera, and I don't have a nice display of scenery or buildings or anything like many of you have, so I try to use the free outdoor scenery when I can!

Thank you!
I put together the parts from various sources, so the figures are not from any one particular set. The legs on both of those figures are the same ones from the knight in Set 3971 if that's what you meant though. That figure is also in a few other sets, and I've used parts from it in some other figures earlier in this thread too. The gold parts on it have been released in both the older and newer gold colours as well. :)
