Title: Map of the Kingdom(s) of Rutileo
Post by: WarriorOfToys on September 13, 2010, 18:58:01
Here you see my Computer Graphics skills... on Paint. :P
These are my two maps for the Island of Rutileo,
Named so by the Romans for the "Red-Bannered" resistance group they had to face,
With the strength of lions. :o
(Many Romans also said they only had the brains of a lion too, but they won the War didn't they? ;) )

Any way, here are the maps:

The first one is a map of the individual Kingdoms of Rutileo, from the years 900-1100 (roughly).
The red bordered Kingdom is the Eastern Kingdom,
The white bordered one is the Northern Kingdom,
And the purple bordered one is the Western Kingdom.

The brown bordered "Kingdom" is Aun Kerac's Principality,
Which was established at about 1100 (right before the war against the Eastern Kingdom).
The boarder here becomes the basis for the later period Eastern Kingdom
Which stretches from sea to sea across the Island.

The second map is of the Kingdom after the 2 Great Wars,
(The war against the Eastern Kingdom, and the war with the Northern Kingdom.)
When the North, and West intergrated themselves into
Aun Kerac’s Kingdom and they became the Kingdom known as Rutileo.

The borders are the baronies of Rutileo.
The baronies are based off of the individual Kingdom’s borders after the two wars,
The Western Kingdom became the 2 purple boardered baronies,
The North becoming the white, pink, and gold bordered baronies,
And the “Eastern” Kingdom became the blue, dark red, and red colored baronies.

I will make maps showing the Kingdoms during/after the two wars as well
Which will be posted in this thread.
Also I will make a map of a later period, around the 14th century when an eighth barony emerges.

I hope you like them.

(PS, This map is actually a Playmobil map that I have painted-over/modified,
Can you tell which map? And from which set the map was in? ;D )

Still have to make the "current" one,
That would be the one right after Aun Kerac defeats the Eastern Kingdom,
But before his war with the North.
I will make it later today. :)

So sure, I can send you it.
I can also show you where the island is on a world map. ;)

The current map of Rutileo,
The Eastern War is now over,
And Aun Kerac controls a Kingdom that stretches across the Island, from sea to sea.
The Western Empire has lost some land in the Northern reaches of their Kingdom,
But also won land in the south.
Around this time the North's Civil War is coming to an end,
With the Catholic Church's Templar Knights dominating the battle fields.

Still no-one has identified the map. ;)

Too late - I actually knew this!   :hissyfit:
This is the first Playmobil set that Sandy ever bought for me! (in fact at the moment it's the only one he ever bought for me!  :'( )
What a great idea WOT.  :wow:
Having used Paint, I can say that you've done well in adding the colour too.

Well AFAIK WoT claimed his island to be of the coast of the UK!

The Territory I will using for my kingdom will be the Netherlands (adjusted of course) Working on a map!

So Scandinavia/Germany/Belgium/France are all still options. Anybody want to join in???

Germany?
Scandinavia?
Denmark? ???

Like Gis said, they are all still open. :)

Yes, my small island is off the coast of England.
The small piece of land at the corner of the map represents the English coast,
But in "reality" the coast is much farther off.

Wow!  Great looking maps!   :)9

Thanks KM. ;D
I have always enjoyed making my own maps,
So combining it with Playmobil was a blast!

Hi guys,
Old topic, but new maps! ;D

An Economics map,
Showing you the major industries of each section of Rutileo.

A Topographical map, showing the terrain of the Kingdom.

A Population map,
The more dense the red color, the more people live there.

And a Road map, with cities and towns as well.
The Dark Gray, Big looking castles are fortresses,
Mostly Military bases.
The Lighter Gray colored castles are smaller castles.
The Brown castles are cities,
and the small Brown houses are towns.
The Golden castle is the Capitol, Ostadt Castle.
