Hello All,
I'd like to share some progress pictures of PFD's new ladder truck.
The truck still utilizes the chassis and frame from set 4820.
The new truck will be assigned to Quint 6 and will be able to function as a ladder or engine company. Features include a side mount (instead of rear) pump panel, storage for hose and ground ladders and added side compartments.
In the pictures to follow, everything that is white is styrene plastic.

Looks like a tough rig
-
It going to be a beast!
Rear ground ladder storage and aerial ladder access. The open area to the right is for large diameter hose storage.
-
The new ladder placement and turntable allow for further reach of the aerial ladder.
-
That's it for now. Painting has to wait to Ohio's weather can decide on fall or winter.
Hope you've enjoyed the pictures.

Great work, Ben.

Love it Ben! I was thrilled when Playmobil finally went to 4 man cabs. Now I wish they would model off of American trucks (it would open a whole new world for them literally based on the fact that the trucks are affordable enough to customize)

Looking good so far Ben! I'm glad you've found time again to mess around with new custom trucks!

Hello everyone,
Thanks for all the comments! It's truly appreciated.
Attached is a picture of the final, more will follow.
Thanks, Ben

Great stuff. Job well done
-
Oh boy look at that beauty! The flag on the back adds a nice detail. ;D
-
Hey everyone,
Figured I would post another picture of the finished product. Decals and the ladder controls were finally added to complete the truck.
Enjoy.

Officer's side of the truck and a view of the rear ladder storage.

Ladder in operation as intended.
Last picture is of an upcoming project.
Hopefully that's all for now.

Thank you for the update, Ben. That's a great piece of custom work.
-
Thanks, Gordon. It was the most custom styrene work that I have done but I am very pleased with the final product.

Is the picture above a tiller unit you're working on? it looks awesome.
Here's a real life one from where I live: http://chicagoareafire.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/12189357_1146679148693515_189980283045325986_o-600x304.jpg

It is. Was hoping to have it ready for paint before winter...

This is some top notch work. I did not even notice before that you had built a fire station to house all your units.
