Title: Playmobil FIGURES App & Golden Collectors Figure KNIGHT

The Playmobil FIGURES App, the official Figures app of Geobra Brandstaetter Stiftung & Co. KG, was launched in Juli 2022 as a free game for smartphones and has occasionally been commented upon in this forum – typically nonplussed.

A recent update, perhaps in May 2023, has made the game a lot more interesting: it is now possible, by completing a series of 24 figures, to obtain a not-for-sale golden collectible figure free of charge! Series can be completed by winning figures in the game, or by purchase: an individual code is printed on each Figures (Fi?ures) leaflet, which can be entered into the app to add the pertinent figure to your in-app collection. There are three series that can be completed in the game, 22 – 23 – 24. Each player can hence win a maximum of three collectible figures.

I gave it a try and completed series 24, sheerly by the power of my purse: I bought all :(o): 24 figures, just to get the voucher codes for the collectable figure. After contacting Geobra with my winning code, the figure was sent to me as a DHL parcel, and it did not disappoint.

The item comes bagged, with bags within the bag.

Not a blind bag, this time. It carries a ETN number (30797244) and was apparently made in Malta in July 2023.

The figure inside is a twin of the Blue Knight / Space Knight (http://animobil.info/figures/text/5d0863aa(shields)-917.html) of Series 1 (#5203), but instead of blue now in plain gold.

So, we get lots of parts in plain gold that were hitherto not available: the legs with regular boots, the arm greaves (armor) with pointed shoulder, and the pointed visor of the helmet ("Hounskull").All very desirable parts.

So desirable that I need more, and there is the challenge: it is virtually impossible to complete a series of 24 figures just by playing the game. As shown in the first image, I make it into the high twenties by playing, but probably need to get the codes for the last few from Figures (Fi?ures) bags to complete a series. Another challenge, as series 22 has meanwhile disappeared from the stores here. Also, the codes in the bags do not always match with the same figure in the game, as I have been able to observe for series 24 – for example, the code with the Alien conjures up the Trapper in the game. There is a chance, therefore, that buying the missing figures of 22 and 23 will still not result in a complete in-app series. 8} Time will tell.

I think the game makes collecting Figures (Fi?ures) a bit more interesting, and certainly addictive. I suppose it is also commercially smart, as I would never have bought a series in full, just to get the voucher codes (when doing that for series 24, I didn't yet realise that most figures can simply be won in the game :lol:). But I wonder how long the collectible figure will be offered, because it must be quite costly for Geobra to send out free price figures throughout the world. So I need to get my final two pronto before the offer runs out. ;D

Anybody else here who has also been playing the game?

I have several figures from these series, but many of them are unopened (and I plan to keep them that way for now :-\).

I'd usually avoid something like this, but that figure is worth the effort. I'll have to go find the opened packages for the leaflets and see what I can manage.

Alright, so I think I figured out most of what there is to this.

I entered all of the codes from leaflets I had from these three series. I had a code for the Series 24 Alien map to the Trapper as well. :-\ I had many duplicates (especially for the Series 22 Knight and Gladiator :)), and, if you enter a code for a duplicate figure, you get 500 gold. I ended up with 34 of the 72 figures and about 8000 gold by doing this.

You can use gold to purchase packs from any of the three series. A "Basic Pack" costs 250 gold and contains some figure items and some bonus items that can be used in the game. A "Legendary Pack" costs 1000 gold and contains one figure (with some figure items) and some bonus items that can be used in the game; you will not always get a figure that you do not yet have. It seems like repeat figures refund about 600 gold, and repeat figure items refund about 100 gold.

You also get one free pack daily (really this seems to be every ~28-29 hours). This appears to be a "Legendary Pack" (or at least it was for me for the first "day").

The game (a matching-type game) is quite easy. The bonus items can help boost your score. In a single game (which can last several minutes with bonus items), it is rather easy to accumulate a score that will result in a reward of 100 to 300 gold.

I have been playing it and was able to enter the full code set for Series 23 since I had them at hand. I am missing just 1 from series 22 from direct entries and playing the game. I sent the email and received confirmation from them but haven't gotten the figure yet. From what I have read it is the same figure even if you complete all 3 series, not a figure unique to each series.

After several hours, I've managed to devise a strategy to consistently get 1000 to 1200 gold per game without much effort. It's quite boring though. :lol:

I'm now at 50 of the 72 figures and managed to complete Series 22.

I knew there was a good reason to keep all the leaflets! (I always buy full sets of 24 figures, twice a year).
It's also very helpful to know that there is only one figure to be had, the same for each series.

I entered 24 codes from Series 22 leaflets and this 'unlocked' 23 Series 22 figures and one from Series 23. Strange! I entered 24 codes from Series 23 and this unlocked another 22 of the Series 23 figures.
However, by buying about 5 of the combination packs (using coins given to me because I had 'already got' certain figures), I was able to win the figure I needed for Series 22 and was able to get a code for the Golden Knight. RESULT! And I didn't have to play the game once!

Ha! Your luck is far better than mine. After devising yet another strategy that yields about 4000 to 4500 gold per game (with heavy usage of bonus items), I'm now at 69 of 72 figures. I still need two figures from Series 23 (the Rock Climber and the Beach Goer) and one figure from Series 24 (the Seamstress). I've accumulated and spent over 100000 gold on "Legendary Packs" so far. With refunds considered, I'd guess I've opened over 200 packs; this is why it's the best strategy to feel the real packs (and, of course, as long as you find a complete real box, all figures are usually included). :lol:

If anyone would like to trade codes, I'd gladly open another Series 22 Knight, Gladiator, or Merman to exchange for any of the three above to avoid staring at this mindless game any longer. :lol: If you really need codes from any of these three figures, I'd offer them without any exchange too since I have several of them.

I've been reviewing the app since it began, along with the figures... s24 WIP...

Didn't enter the codes for that one yet, but got the 2 from the previous series. Lame, imo. No packaging, same for both... and the black shield kinda spoils the effect. Made worse by including the SAME sticker.

Still.. nice legs ;)

Getting extra figures by buying Legendary packs at 1000 coins each; here is a wrinkle!

You don't have to play the lame game to get this to work!

I entered the codes from the S23 leaflets again. Some of them worked, though about 50% gave the message 'Invalid code.' Whilst this gave me no new figures, each 'duplicate' earned 500 gold coins. Once I had about 3000 'in the bank,' I bought several Legendary packs. Every time I got a repeat figure, I got some coins back, so it didn't take long to win the one figure I needed.

Ha! I had tried that originally and it never worked for me, but I just tried again after you mentioned this, and it worked! There must be some code cache limit or something that allows this to work after so long (or after you've entered a certain number of codes). If this remains possible, then it would definitely be a good idea to save the leaflets for future updates (and rewards :)).

As I wrote in my previous posts, your luck is just very good! ;) I quickly exhausted over 8000 gold from entering codes for duplicate figures without managing to get a full set (I was missing more figures than you though). I was then forced to play the game quite a lot. The good news is that - if this continues for the next series - I have such a huge stockpile of bonus items (actually so many that the number glitches) that it shouldn't take long to acquire more gold. As tahra noted in her review though, the gold might mysteriously disappear, so that could happen to the bonus items too.

Also, my second daily pack ended up being equivalent to a "Basic Pack" (so no figure was in it). I also seemed to buy so many "Legendary Packs" in a row at times that the application stalled a few times and needed to be restarted. :-\

I ended up sending the codes for the other two series as well, but I didn't receive any additional replies, so I still don't know if they will actually send three figures (one for each completed series). :-\

I haven't purchased any of the fi?gures for years, but I've been playing the game for a couple of weeks and there's only one figure left to acquire.  About a week ago, I emailed the code for series 22 - I never got an email reply, but the golden knight arrived today in a small yellow bubble envelope from Playmobil USA.    :D

Been a long while since I posted here due to a never ending workload.

I had great trouble with the app, not using any leaflet codes but just playing to get all of Series 22. It ended up that I played 100 games getting at minimum 10,000 points a game (my record was 100,000 when I had 23/24 unlocked.. In the end I emailed Playmobil and they apologised the app seemed to refuse to unlock the final character so they sent me a Knight.

Some tips for playing the game:
Use 1x timer bonus item, 1x heart and 1x coin before starting
Dont overthink how to approach connecting. Literally do the equivalent of button smashing with two fingers, this will quickly start getting you crayons, pizzas etc. you can then in the midst of that go for more faces in a row, and start hopefully getting disco balls
Once you’ve built up the in game power ups (disco, crayons etc) - just keep pressing those all in a row amongst randomly pressing
If you play say 2-3 games in a row the timer will stack and you seem to get better odds as it were

You’ll find doing this your scores will become way higher and you gain more coins per game.i was thinking 4000 was good early on but when i went for it like this ended up getting enough coins to unlock a legendary bag every 2-3 games.

I believe I mentioned that on the review the first time the game appeared (and now) - though it was kinda pointless then...

Makes for a lame game, but an easy way to get coins :)

That's all good advice, CrimsonCleaver!  I, too, have been playing the game to win the prize rather than entering codes as I haven't bought any of the figures for several years.  I am stuck on trying to get the last one in series 23, but I've received the prize for series 22 and have sent the code for series 24 (actually got an email reply for that one ;) )

I have a stylus on my phone (because I am hopeless at texting otherwise) which makes it easy for me to get big matches quickly.  I just zen out and go as fast as possible which seems to work pretty well.  A few weeks ago when I first started playing, I recorded a few games on my phone and played them back at half speed - got a few insights into the game that way,  I recommend it!   :D

The update must have just been added because I was able to get it a few minutes ago.  Season 25 has been added but it looks like the prize is still the golden knight figure.  :'(

Which means now the review is late. I wrote most of it, and took all pics (I am sure in the end I'll need a couple more) - except the Kept. One of those is giving me headaches.

Didn't fix any pics though... And nothing written for the app.

Thanks for the information! I entered the codes I had and managed to get 16 of the 24 figures for Series 25.

Interestingly, one of the codes was not accepted. I checked it numerous times, and I'm quite certain it was entered correctly. :-\

Thanks for pointing this out - I collected 3 figures from playing the game and they were gone after a restart.   >:(

I just realized that something was probably lost in translation - the male figure called "Same" and the female figure called "Same Woman" are meant to be "Sámi", not "Same".  Here's an explanation from Wikipedia:

The Sámi are the traditionally Sámi-speaking peoples inhabiting the region of Sápmi, which today encompasses large northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland, and of the Kola Peninsula in Russia.

Do an image search to see the traditional garb of the Sámi . . . .

Personally, I can't feel too bad for myself losing three figures when I haven't even bought a single figure from series 22, 23, 24, or 25 (but I have lots and lots of the early figures.)

But I genuinely feel bad for you, Pynedor!  This is a huge huge problem when they can't even properly reward their paying customers in a game that is really just a bald-faced marketing scheme designed to get people to buy the figures.  I especially feel bad for any younglings out there in the real world who are faithfully inputting their codes and then finding that all their efforts are for nothing - that might put them off Playmobil forever which, I assume, is the exact opposite of the intended purpose of the game.

What can we do? Anything?  I'm ready to storm the castle but don't know how to begin.  >:(

But that does not worry them. At all.  (IS there a purpose to that app? Besides me going though it for the unread review? I do wonder. I KNOW I am stupid that way.. I mean, I actually did it all BEFORE the knights)

Regarding the new series 25, I got several (3 or 4) duplicates that also had the same code for the APP !!!! So, if I had not used the code first then it becomes invalid (!!) and this is exactly what happened in some other figures I got! Also, in more than one occasions, the code did not correspond to the figure in the bag !!!!

This is a serious mess...

Didn't start the codes yet, but in the figures I got 12 different codes for each series, so.. Hopefully they match.

I finished getting the figures, playing for almost all of them..
