These week the new blue boxes came, therefore a party.
I have ordered the fire brigade items.
To know; the fire brigade car 4821
The turn table ladder 4820
The quick intervention car 4822
And two times the supplement / extension set 4825
The extension set 4825 contain on main points
1 fire fighter new uniform 1 air Set
1 fire fighter craze suite grey
a set hose bridges a fire hydrant underground with stand pipe and key
and very important (a type German) hose rail carrier.
further small stuff as a hose koppelingen streetwaterkanonen warningsign crate cowbar fire wipe axes portofoon and a hand pump
drum with flame
The only minus point : the fire fighter in craze suite come without face piece
(oxygen mask )
Then the fire car 4821 these comes with but 1 fire fighter (that is very little)
The winches are modifies here concerning in another Article
But for the two HD reels is only one hose
From the suction hoses you only get three
But you get 8 links, but there prove there necessary be as a link to the pump
The jerrycan has been differently made but that is no problem.
Furthermore much small stuff (nicely easy for customise).
On the back door a system X connector sits to connects the hose rail car.
The turn table ladder 4820 these is with 2 fire fighters nicely complete
The air ventilator and the generator has been already discussed by Gordon
The engine chain saw is in orange and black this seems very real (still)
On the back side I have glued a system X connector and here you can hang
the hose rail car
however totally I sit good. I have a crew of 6 fire fighters in a new extinguish suite
2 of the ladder 1 of the firecar 1 of the commando car and 2 of the extension set therefore 2 other on the turn table ladder
I hoop my English is good groet Peter

Thanks for the excellent review, Peter. It was only when I saw your review that I realised that the storage units on the new pump were of different sizes, a narrower one and a wider one.. Please would you let me have their sizes.
One thing puzzles me about the Continental style hose reel (I bought the 4825 set when in Malta - the last one in the FunPark). I had expected that as the klicky pulled the trolley along that the hose would roll out, but in fact the hose reel can only move a quarter turn at a time.

Hi Peter
Thank you for the additional pictures of the newest fire sets . The storage capacity of the 4821 truck is very impressive . With all the pictures and reviews I am looking forward to their debut here in the USA . I do not know if my computer did not load correctly but I do not see any pictures of the Ladder truck 4520 or SUV 4822 ? I would love to see more of them also if you do have the pictures . They look so good with your custom backgrounds .
Thanks again for the review :wow:

Great review, it looks to be a great new addition to the theme. One small thing that pleases me is the spout for the gas can. There must be tens of thousands of those gas cans out there, all open.

the live size trolley is equip wit a hand break for the rail , if the hose rail is running too fast you break by hand .
the model break with four holes the rail of the 3880 has a lot more hols
the old hose rail is to Small but no holes
the hose rail of the 3880 wit 12 holes
and the original , the only wee to let it go smooth remove the pin's out the trolley

It seems a shame they changed from the rolltop storage door to these lift up ones on the truck, surely that's not how there are in real life?
I wonder what prompted the change? Did the old plastic doors degrade and break, were they hard for kids fingers to work, or is it just a cheapening of the production process?

I've not detected any degradation in the 3880s I have, although on some older ones the thin strips are getting a bit light coloured. Certainly, I imagine that cost is one factor. The 3880 is quite fiddly to assemble as there are two guide panels for the roller shutters and this assembly process would be repeated three times on the new fire engine, plus the guide panels and the bodywork would be more intricate injections. An alternative approach would be to have a solid shutter which lifted up and slid in as in the first pic below. However, having said that and sharing your reservations about the realism of the new approach, I spotted a picture of a Greek fire engine in the Times of Malta when we were on holiday which made me think again - see pic 2. Maybe in real life the very "tall" roller shutter poses technical problems and would certainly need some sort of mechanism to wind it up fully (or very tall firefighters!) and so a hydraulic or pneumatic system is used to lift it just like the new PM fire engine.

Thanks for the extra information and pics, Peter. I may try and modify the trolley as you suggest.
May I ask another favour, could I have the part number for the 42mm x 94mm storage unit?
Many thanks in advance, Gordon

The new TL looks very smart and the addition of the System-X piece for the hose reel is an excellent idea. (What type of glue did you use, please? Epoxy twin-pack?)
I must admit the possibility of buying the new TL and two or three pumps next year (well, one anyway) is becoming more likely, but what do I do with all my 3880s if I do buy 2 or 3 of the new ones?

I've got 32 x 3880 type engines so I may have a definite problem! I plan on using 4 of the new engines for heavy rescue units. If I like them better than my 3880's, I may have a big eBay sale off ;)!

Thanks, Peter. It looked from some of the pictures I've seen that an extra draw could be fitted in in the rear drawer compartment.
(Apologies for mistyoing draw as drae. :-[)

:lol: I am sorry that just has to be one of those ironic senior moments that I get to look forward to in the near future ;) Also the English language can be so confusing 8}
Note: I am not in any way laughing at anybody but at myself for making so many grammatical errors and typos . English is my second language and my Russian is rusty so as I have said before I am illiterate in 2 languages

No offence on my part, Ras, and thinking (and laughing) about it last night I realised my senior moment was still worse. The word I should have used was "drawer", a thing you keep stuff in as in a chest of drawers, and I typed "draw", as in drawing a picture! :-[

And with my typing errors, Peter, I'm not helping you  . Maybe I'd better try posting in Dutch!
