Fire Academy Recruit Training
« on: May 15, 2024, 07:42:30 »
Several new recruits are currently on week 3 of the fire academy. This week, they’ve been working on victim removal techniques. Today, they wrapped up this module with a hands-on exercise involving removing a live victim from a donated structure via a dual-ladder operation.

The last photo is of a new member of the hazmat team. Note the chem tape around his boots.

Thanks for having a look!

What do the different fire helmets represent?

What do the different fire helmets represent?

Still working on helmet designs, but as of now the European style ones with the white tape are being issued to new recruits, while the American “traditional” style helmets are being issued to sworn firefighters. Eventually red is going to signify a captain or lieutenant, white will signify a chief, and black will signify a firefighter. Waiting on it to get less humid so I can paint a few new helmets.
