Title: New additions to the Playmo-Family...
Post by: PlaymoMan on September 17, 2011, 17:53:11
I decided to start a new thread on all my purchases, instead of jamming everything into Just another Playmo-Day - here's a link to that thread, if there's someone who hasn't seen it:http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=8957.0 (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=8957.0).

Anyways, I don't have anything to show you guys today, but I'm still searching for some blue boxes, so stay tuned!

I thought I posted here. ??? I must have not hit post.

I do love this set! the print on the little girl's shirt is awesome, and it's a great way to get the giraffe growth chart without buying a $165 hospital.

That's a neat set. My wife, Diane, has just finished sewing a measuring wall chart for her 18 month old great niece featuring a giraffe like that.

That's a very good idea.  When threads get too long it becomes difficult following them.

Okay, I bought these little beauties yesterday - I just didn't have the time to take pics as the camera's batteries were charging. But, I took some photos today. Here they are:

The two boxes...

Assembled!
The catalogues...

They're nothing special, although they're useful in my town.

Picked up something today - even though It's early, I figured that these would sell pretty fast.
Anyway, here goes...

thanx wesley, I could get it from the US ds but I would like to know the weight first. otherwise the shipping here could cost twice the set and I wouldn't get it like that.
thanks anyway

I've definitely kept my PM purchases to a strict minimum, and have been waiting to "spend my pennies" on a set that is perfect. But, today, as I was walking down the aisle of our local toy store, I couldn't take my eyes of the Christmas theme, so I satisfied my thirst (for the day, at least). ;D
Anyways, here's what I bought.

I guess I haven't really ever had good luck when it comes to those sort of things. :)

That's a nice set. I passed on it when it was last available regular retail but have since grown my appreciation for it.
The shrubberies are useful too - they look great lined up in rows as field crops for a farm or garden center.

Okay, here's the 3186. Unfortunately, it looked as though the box had been previously opened. When I peeked inside, I discovered that the bag containing the klickies had been opened, and the little girl was missing. Although, we found one painful reminder of her - the straw hat she was wearing. :(
But, anyways, here's the pics...

Okay, here's some pics...

The package...
The seller clearly valued the items - it took about five minutes to unwrap everything.
The front and back of the box.

The contents - the set wasn't in it's original packaging, so the seller wrapped each group of objects in bubble wrap. I was glad to see how much effort he/she put in to making sure the package arrived safe and sound.

Nice find, PlaymoMan 8-)! It's nice when sellers actually take the time to nicely pack the Playmo they ship. I had one of those cafes when I was very young (about 2) and somehow I really do still have all the pieces and the box intact  :o ! Mine, however, came with the more modern SystemX connector, with the metal part on the end. Your's must be an earlier version  :hmm:.

I'm just about to order a 3959 off of eBay for my 3989. I think that December/January has been a very big month in terms of Playmo accumulation. :-[

My 3959 finally arrived in yesterday. ::)
But, the wait was worth it - here's some pics!

Complete!

The seller also packed in the 7414 extension, which I very much appreciated, given the price.

Unfortunately, one roof piece was missing, but everything else was accounted for.

Hm, I think it's the bright yellow windows in combination with red awnings. That's the colors lego always used for those pieces when I was a kid, it seems. Also the window boxes.

I'm on vacation on the west coast of Canada and have been poking about town to find some toy stores. Today, I found one - as my eyes scanned the shelves full of Playmo, I spotted the 3162!(http://www.playvaluetoys.com/products/PLAYMOBIL-3162.html (http://www.playvaluetoys.com/products/PLAYMOBIL-3162.html))

Anyways,I picked it up and I've taken some pics - will upload them later.

Oh dear, I really haven't stayed up to date on this. :-[

Anyways, our local toy just received the new harbour series so I dropped by and picked up the 5127 ferry and the 5132 kayaker. They are both great sets - I love the new klickies but I was disappointed by the fake door on the ferry. Oh well. :(

I also bought the 5140 Redcoat's ship and the 5141 Redcoat with cannon. I love both sets! The detail on the boat is fantastic and I also love the new hair and sword.

Ooh, I'm very excited about these purchases! ;D

The computer is quite slow and I cannot upload pics, let alone log in to PlaymoFriends on there without having to wait about ten minutes. Things on the iPad are fine, though, and that is where I am posting from.

Anyhow, I recently purchased one more pack of the 7673 knights from the PM outlet store. My intent was to purchase two of those sets but they clearly are selling fast and only one was left.

Also, yesterday, I went to our local toy store downtown and picked up a couple of series two
fi?gures, the basketball player and the lady in the white gown. I also purchased the 4256, which I love. The klicky looks very regal! ;D

I would also get at least a dozen of her if I could buy from the pcc in clear bags.

I would also take quite a few of the rasta guy. I would remove the flag and he would be in a plain white t-shirt. Change the legs many times and you have a nice addition to a city

Yeah, I plan on purchasing quite a few of him. I don't think that the flag is a problem, as it can be used as a logo, too. Of course, if you're going for a more generic look, then a plain white t-shirt would be better. :)

I, in fact, already contacted PM. The outlet store where I purchased the set is also home to Playmobil Canada's head office, which, in turn, is home to the massive parts department. On my latest visit, which was after I bought the set, I told the clerk about the missing bridle and wrong horses. He scoured the parts department, but returned empty-handed, saying that none of the new-style horses in that particular set were in stock. (He did, though, give me the missing bridle). So, I left my address and e-mail, so that when a delivery of the correct horses arrived, he could send some out to me. :)

Finally! My first Steck castle! And the 3666, no less!

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/301278533661?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/301278533661?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649)

The seller listed the item as nearly complete, although a quick inventory check revealed all figures and accessories were present. I'm not familiar with the particular Steck pieces in the set, so perhaps a member could glance at the photos and make sure the castle is 100% complete?

Haven't been this excited about a purchase in a very, very long time! :D

It looks very complete to me, what may be missing could be some of those short pillar thingies from the battlements.

Also the tower flag to put on a flagpole seems broken, but otherwise it looks complete to me and in great condition.

congratulations on your purchase, and I am sure you will have a lot of fun unpacking it and putting it together for the first time! For me it was something I'd been waiting for since childhood.

Thanks for pointing those out! I see the Tower Flag pop up on eBay every once and a while, so that seems to be easily replaceable. What are you referring to by the short pillar thingies? :)

Go to the Playmobil website for your country, scroll down to the bottom of the page and look for Building Instructions on the left and click on it.  Then type in 3666 and you can download the building instructions and parts for the 3666.

I have no idea what to call those things otherwise.. I mean you put the battlements on top of the walls, and there are small pillars to put in between those battlements to fill the gaps. I think there would be more than eight of them in the 3666.

They are called Battlement Columns, cost 0.45 euro each and are part number 30076770.  (On old sets where the last group of figures in a part number consists of three figures, you need to add a zero to the end.)

If you go to playmobil.com and go to the UK site and scroll down the page, two lines above the link to Building Instructions, there is one Find Spare Parts.  Click on this, enter the part number and it will tell you if it's available and, if it is, how much it costs - but remember, if the part number you have is only seven figures, add a zero to the end, oh, and put the figures in as one string, not 30 07 6770, but 30076770.

Boy, it's been quite a while since I posted in this topic. In any case, I was browsing Kijiji a week or so ago and came across a complete 3626 (Merry Men's Hideaway) that was relatively close by. Such a great set - the tree really is awesome (and much bigger than I expected!).

I've already managed to find a home for it in my forest.

Such a great set (...)

I agree. It is utterly superb. I particularly love the old guy but the tree is wonderful too, as are the rabbits, basket bottle, etc.

I have wondered what the backstory is - there is always a scenario hidden in each set. The grey-haired one and the boy are obviously the goodies, and - because of his evil glance - the red-capped figure (with the wonderful neck piece ) is bound to be an evil agent. But what is the soldier's role? I haven't checked but the box art might give a clue - I have pictures if you are interested.

Best wishes
StJohn
