I decided to start a new thread on all my purchases, instead of jamming everything into Just another Playmo-Day - here's a link to that thread, if there's someone who hasn't seen it:http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=8957.0 (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=8957.0).
Anyways, I don't have anything to show you guys today, but I'm still searching for some blue boxes, so stay tuned!
-
Well, only a day into this thread, I already have something to show you!
Anyways, here it is:
The front of the box...

great purchase! Bonnie got me that easter egg and it's on the way to me - can't wait to set up mine too!
-
I thought I posted here. ??? I must have not hit post.
I do love this set! the print on the little girl's shirt is awesome, and it's a great way to get the giraffe growth chart without buying a $165 hospital.

:lol: :lol: :lol: That would explain why I thought I posted here! :doh: It's been one of those days! 8}

wait, is there another thread about this? ??? i'm confused
-
That's a neat set. My wife, Diane, has just finished sewing a measuring wall chart for her 18 month old great niece featuring a giraffe like that.

That's a very good idea. When threads get too long it becomes difficult following them.
-
Sorry, Luis. I made a review about that set. Here's a link -http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=9153.0 (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=9153.0)

I'm heading out of town today - I'm gonna also hunt for toy stores, so don't be surprised if I come home with something!

Okay, I bought these little beauties yesterday - I just didn't have the time to take pics as the camera's batteries were charging. But, I took some photos today. Here they are:
The two boxes...

Picked up something today - even though It's early, I figured that these would sell pretty fast.
Anyway, here goes...

ToysRUs has that advent calendar in stock now. They sadly didn't have all the othe Christmas sets.
-
thanx wesley, I could get it from the US ds but I would like to know the weight first. otherwise the shipping here could cost twice the set and I wouldn't get it like that.
thanks anyway
-
I've definitely kept my PM purchases to a strict minimum, and have been waiting to "spend my pennies" on a set that is perfect. But, today, as I was walking down the aisle of our local toy store, I couldn't take my eyes of the Christmas theme, so I satisfied my thirst (for the day, at least). ;D
Anyways, here's what I bought.
The front and back of the box.

Could be funny to make a picture with that santa having his bag filled with rapiers and pistols, and standing next to exited pirates who are happy to receive their presents.

By the way, I entered a draw yesterday for the 4884 (http://4884) and the 4886 (http://4886) but didn't win them.
I guess I haven't really ever had good luck when it comes to those sort of things. :)

The 3257 and the 3171 just arrived yesterday. I opened up the 3257, but have the 3171 wrapped up. I'll post pictures later. <*)
Also, I just ordered this off of eBay: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/160701922750?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2648 (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/160701922750?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2648)

That's a nice set. I passed on it when it was last available regular retail but have since grown my appreciation for it.
The shrubberies are useful too - they look great lined up in rows as field crops for a farm or garden center.
-
Okay, here's my Christmas haul! I'm mostly excited about the airport, although the 3171 is a great set too.
Here's some pics. (I'll post more in my reviews.)

I'll be posting pics of the 3186 in a second block.
PlaymoMan <*)

Okay, here's the 3186. Unfortunately, it looked as though the box had been previously opened. When I peeked inside, I discovered that the bag containing the klickies had been opened, and the little girl was missing. Although, we found one painful reminder of her - the straw hat she was wearing. :(
But, anyways, here's the pics...

the bus stop and that big airport are some of the coolest city life sets! congrats on getting them - may i ask where you found them? ;D

Way to go!!!
I love the 3171 bus stop set also. Bought several from PlayValue toys in Canada about a month ago. Very nice Klickies and design.
The airport set looks very intriguing, too. The modern city sets are my favorites by far. Have a Happy, Happy New Year! :cracker: :cracker: :cracker:

The package...

The seller clearly valued the items - it took about five minutes to unwrap everything.

The contents - the set wasn't in it's original packaging, so the seller wrapped each group of objects in bubble wrap. I was glad to see how much effort he/she put in to making sure the package arrived safe and sound.

Thanks for sharing.

Nice find, PlaymoMan 8-)! It's nice when sellers actually take the time to nicely pack the Playmo they ship. I had one of those cafes when I was very young (about 2) and somehow I really do still have all the pieces and the box intact :o ! Mine, however, came with the more modern SystemX connector, with the metal part on the end. Your's must be an earlier version :hmm:.

Lovely little set!!! Most of the items are re-issued as add ons but its nice to see the original set!! Thanks for the pics!!

I'm just about to order a 3959 off of eBay for my 3989. I think that December/January has been a very big month in terms of Playmo accumulation. :-[

My 3959 finally arrived in yesterday. ::)
But, the wait was worth it - here's some pics!

Unfortunately, one roof piece was missing, but everything else was accounted for.

Wow! This looks wonderful! And you know you can paint the roof or windows if you want to use another color. It is a great set for doing so many different things. Congrautlations!

Hm, I think it's the bright yellow windows in combination with red awnings. That's the colors lego always used for those pieces when I was a kid, it seems. Also the window boxes.

I also picked up the 2012 catalogue that our local toy store just received...can't wait for the new sets!
-
I'm on vacation on the west coast of Canada and have been poking about town to find some toy stores. Today, I found one - as my eyes scanned the shelves full of Playmo, I spotted the 3162!(http://www.playvaluetoys.com/products/PLAYMOBIL-3162.html (http://www.playvaluetoys.com/products/PLAYMOBIL-3162.html))
Anyways,I picked it up and I've taken some pics - will upload them later.
PlaymoMan
-
Oh cool, that one's been discontinued for a while now... I wanted it but didn't get around to it until too late. ::)
The edit was just me fixing your link, btw.
-
Nice find! :)
-
Oh dear, I really haven't stayed up to date on this. :-[
Anyways, our local toy just received the new harbour series so I dropped by and picked up the 5127 ferry and the 5132 kayaker. They are both great sets - I love the new klickies but I was disappointed by the fake door on the ferry. Oh well. :(
I also bought the 5140 Redcoat's ship and the 5141 Redcoat with cannon. I love both sets! The detail on the boat is fantastic and I also love the new hair and sword.
Ooh, I'm very excited about these purchases! ;D

Congratulations, I can't speak for the ferry and kayaker, but the redcoat sets are wonderfull. :)
They might only encourage you to get the fort as well though. ;)

Gonna go to the Playmobil outlet store on Friday!! :yippee:
where?? WHEEEEEREEEEE???
;D
-
Mississauga, Ontario. :)
-
I'm planning to make a second visit to the PM outlet store soon, to pick up some more DS knights. My medieval collection is slowly growing! ;D
-
The computer is quite slow and I cannot upload pics, let alone log in to PlaymoFriends on there without having to wait about ten minutes. Things on the iPad are fine, though, and that is where I am posting from.
Anyhow, I recently purchased one more pack of the 7673 knights from the PM outlet store. My intent was to purchase two of those sets but they clearly are selling fast and only one was left.
http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=7673 (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=7673)
Also, yesterday, I went to our local toy store downtown and picked up a couple of series two
fi?gures, the basketball player and the lady in the white gown. I also purchased the 4256, which I love. The klicky looks very regal! ;D

Those are two of my favorites from series 3. The Spanish lady is just awesome. I really want like 5 more of her.

Nice buys, mate.

I think you have made some great buys with the bags. I want loads of both
Those are two of my favorites from series 3. The Spanish lady is just awesome. I really want like 5 more of her.
I would also get at least a dozen of her if I could buy from the pcc in clear bags.
I would also take quite a few of the rasta guy. I would remove the flag and he would be in a plain white t-shirt. Change the legs many times and you have a nice addition to a city
-

Yeah, I plan on purchasing quite a few of him. I don't think that the flag is a problem, as it can be used as a logo, too. Of course, if you're going for a more generic look, then a plain white t-shirt would be better. :)

My goodness, it's been a while since I posted in this thread, although I do have some new purchases.
It's been awfully long since I bought this set, but here it is! (I had unboxing and assembly pics although those were accidentally deleted...).

That sheriff is such a great character! He was the first thing we bought when the new western series came out.

Bought this MISB set from the Playmobil outlet store in Mississauga, it had the older-style horses and was missing a bridle, but I'll make do.

If you bought it MIB, contact playmobil.. they should send you the correct horsys and the bridle..

I, in fact, already contacted PM. The outlet store where I purchased the set is also home to Playmobil Canada's head office, which, in turn, is home to the massive parts department. On my latest visit, which was after I bought the set, I told the clerk about the missing bridle and wrong horses. He scoured the parts department, but returned empty-handed, saying that none of the new-style horses in that particular set were in stock. (He did, though, give me the missing bridle). So, I left my address and e-mail, so that when a delivery of the correct horses arrived, he could send some out to me. :)

Oh goody! Let's hope they show up then :)

Finally! My first Steck castle! And the 3666, no less!
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/301278533661?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/301278533661?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649)
The seller listed the item as nearly complete, although a quick inventory check revealed all figures and accessories were present. I'm not familiar with the particular Steck pieces in the set, so perhaps a member could glance at the photos and make sure the castle is 100% complete?
Haven't been this excited about a purchase in a very, very long time! :D

It looks very complete to me, what may be missing could be some of those short pillar thingies from the battlements.
Also the tower flag to put on a flagpole seems broken, but otherwise it looks complete to me and in great condition.
congratulations on your purchase, and I am sure you will have a lot of fun unpacking it and putting it together for the first time! For me it was something I'd been waiting for since childhood.

Thanks for pointing those out! I see the Tower Flag pop up on eBay every once and a while, so that seems to be easily replaceable. What are you referring to by the short pillar thingies? :)

Go to the Playmobil website for your country, scroll down to the bottom of the page and look for Building Instructions on the left and click on it. Then type in 3666 and you can download the building instructions and parts for the 3666.

I have no idea what to call those things otherwise.. I mean you put the battlements on top of the walls, and there are small pillars to put in between those battlements to fill the gaps. I think there would be more than eight of them in the 3666.

They are called Battlement Columns, cost 0.45 euro each and are part number 30076770. (On old sets where the last group of figures in a part number consists of three figures, you need to add a zero to the end.)
If you go to playmobil.com and go to the UK site and scroll down the page, two lines above the link to Building Instructions, there is one Find Spare Parts. Click on this, enter the part number and it will tell you if it's available and, if it is, how much it costs - but remember, if the part number you have is only seven figures, add a zero to the end, oh, and put the figures in as one string, not 30 07 6770, but 30076770.

Thank you very much, the Find Spare Parts feature is very useful! I would certainly like to see it implemented on the Canadian website.

Yes, it appears that eight of the battlement columns are present. Do you have any idea how many exactly would be needed? :)

Visited the Playmobil outlet store in Missisauga today, didn't find anything of interest except for two Viking add-on packs.

They're pretty cool. Getting DS stuff from the shelf is a nice feeling, I think :)

I agree. That's great. :)

Boy, it's been quite a while since I posted in this topic. In any case, I was browsing Kijiji a week or so ago and came across a complete 3626 (Merry Men's Hideaway) that was relatively close by. I've cut back my Playmobil consumption by quite a bit, but this opportunity was too good to miss. The package just arrived today, so I'll post some pictures later. Very happy about this purchase! :)

Okay, here's a picture I took of the new arrival this afternoon.
Such a great set - the tree really is awesome (and much bigger than I expected!).
I've already managed to find a home for it in my forest.

No way you could say no to that deal.

Such a great set (...)
I agree. It is utterly superb. I particularly love the old guy but the tree is wonderful too, as are the rabbits, basket bottle, etc.
I have wondered what the backstory is - there is always a scenario hidden in each set. The grey-haired one and the boy are obviously the goodies, and - because of his evil glance - the red-capped figure (with the wonderful neck piece ) is bound to be an evil agent. But what is the soldier's role? I haven't checked but the box art might give a clue - I have pictures if you are interested.
Best wishes

Great find! That set is a really nice one.

I really hope they will make that one available at DS too in the future, already looking forward to getting the hunters. The merry men feast was not in DS for long oddly enough.
