A good, analytical review, Martin. As you say, Martin, lots of play value but not particularly practical in real life terms as a castle. The impossibility of easily disassembling it will be a major drawback for many households, but one found out too late.
As regards weighing, on our kitchen scales you can, for example, put a box on the scales before turning them on and they then zero when turned on and it is possible to balance another item on the box to weigh it. Would that work, although you need a box which allows you to still see the readout, so it may be a block of wood with a box on top or maybe better still a tray.
