How lovely! It's great to know that Playmobil didn't give up entirely on trains!

It's very detailed

I agree, Damo! I know I'm in the minority, but I really do think that Playmobil is getting more and more detailed every year. This train is a good example  ;)!

Thanks for the pics & links!
I saw the hotel through someone's link on Playmobil's FB-page, but not the train-loc and airplane.

Just a first impression, but I think the loc and the plane look...somewhat non-Playmobil, but rather like other plastic toys  :-\

Resistance is futile, you will be boarded!

I think this is sort of a new era of Playmobil that we're entering :). I look at it this way: the first era was the 1970's and early 80's, with the simple, usually single color pieces. The next was the late 80's and 90's, where the parts became more realistic and detailed and so did the Klickies. The third-era was from 2000 to about 2009, where things were trending towards a more cartoonish look with more creative shapes and some unrealistc aspects, like Dragonland. The fourth-ear will likely be smaller pieces like this train, but with more detail. I think progression is just the sign of a healthy product line !
