Title: Water park sets 6669 - 6670 - 6672 - 6673 - 6674 - 6675 - 6676 - 6677
Post by: Birdie on May 16, 2015, 18:54:43
So I treated myself to the new water park theme - it looks every bit as gorgeous as it does on the pictures

I didn't buy the caravan (6671) because I already have loads of other ones, but the rest of the sets are here in the review.

I'll start with the small boxes:

1) The 6677 swim teacher who came prepared:

All of these were cheaper in Dreamland than they were on the Belgian Playmobil website. The swim teacher was € 4,99 and the others were € 3,99, if my memory isn't failing me.

2) The 6675 water bike type thing (what is the word in English?)

For kids only!

3) The 6676 stud in rubber boat slide thingy (some help please  ;D )

This guy demanded his own selfie:

4) The 6674 kayak for kids

Then on to the bigger sets.
This is the 6673 kiddie pool with slide.

I think this is the first baby in diaper/swim trunks only. Their hair is growing on me - slowly  :)

The squirty toy is awfully cute. There's another one just like it in the water park shop.

I'm pretty sure I already have a lady in that particular swim suit. I guess there isn't much variety in the shopping mall for them  ::)

The 6672 water park snackbar

The French fries and the separate hot dogs are great! Clickies can hold the white packaging in their hands, and the hot dogs can be pinned into it or taken out. The design of the shop is pretty dashing  8-)

This is the sticker leaf. I really like the sign and the price list.

The clickies are disappointing. I have both, several times already.

This one cost around € 25 in Dreamland, again cheaper than the € 32,99 on the Belgian Playmobil webshop. Even the kiddie pool was cheaper, it came at around € 10 instead of € 15.

And then the main attractions  ;D

The 6670 'water playground':

Their skintone is of the darker type:

The slide goes on the left (which is a bit low, and had me wondering what the higher part of the playground is for - but appartently you can attach the slide to the higher bit as well, if you combine this set with the 6669 pool)

This contraption is a sort of see-saw. The water you poor on the floor can be pumped up with the yellow thing, so that it squirts out of the shower head, into the red container, which lifts the see-saw. Then the water drains away and the see-saw is dropped again. Ever so slowly, I imagine   Haven't tried it yet.

How cute is this thing?! Its head can be twisted round so that the eyes are open and the light is green. Safety first in the water park!

Paddle boat is the word you were looking for Birdie

Thank you for sharing! These are exciting purchases and I'm slightly jealous lol

The final set is the pool itself. I imagine lots of head wounds and blood and pain when all of the three slides are used simultaneously, but well, I guess I'm too much of a realist :)

Finally, a black guy in swimming trunks! And the gazillionth white blonde girl in pink bikini with flowers.

Pretty!

Fun little details:

So the yellow rubber boat slide thingies are pulled up by a rope. It looks difficult  :)

No toddlers allowed:

This set was € 54,99 in Dreamland - Playmobil Belgium wants 10 extra euros for it. The water playground was about 6 euros cheaper than on the PM website, I believe, at € 29. What is up with that? I saved a lot of money this time.

And this is the combination of the three pools. Looks pretty cool!

That was all  :)  My next project will be a holiday resort. The hotel and the luxury villa will fit in nicely!

Ah, thanks! And how would you call the yellow thing for sliding down the slide with?

Yeah I hear you, I had to choose between these and the new zoo & new wildlife sets. I went for these, but it still hurts a tiny bit  :)

Great review of a fun summer time set. I plan on adding these to the playground and fair theme as one big park.

Some call those yellow inflatables "inner tubes" but that was from the days when people would buy actuall inner tubes for big rigs and over inflate them for the river. Now they make them specifically for this purpose, in fabulous colors, pink, purple, lime green, actually am surprised geobra chose a rubber raft yellow.

Is the trunk of the big palmtree made of one piece?
If yes, then it is probably the old version making a comeback...

(there are 2 different designs; the later palmtrees have a slightly bigger foot so they don´t fit older groundplates, and the big ones of this version are build up by adding small trunk-parts to a large one, whereas the old palmtree-trunks were made of one large piece)

The sets are very beautifull though rather specific in use. Some nice clickies there, and I am looking forward to how you will use it in a larger setup. They do seem to match up very nicely together.

I dont know why, but somehow it looks like the little girl in the paddle boat is making a rude hand gesture, which I didnt think was even possible for clickies.  :-[

Is it just me or do the swimsuits make these babies look chubbier than normal?

You treated yourself to some nice hunks in trunks. I think most of the male male klickies are really cool. Those babies are cute, but the buttons on his bare back look a bit strange though.

Thank you for all the beautiful pictures. The toys and octopus fountains are very attractive. Such nice sets! The snackbar is one I really like to have too.

Looking forward to your resort dio.

They are often called pedallos.

And thanks for a great review, Birdie.

It's in one piece, indeed! I hadn't realized that about the two different versions.

I will have to have a talk with her.

Well it doesn't help that the sides of his body are skin colour, where his swimsuit should be.

@sunflower: good point about those buttons...

Very nice sets I like the kids paddle boat and kayak nice and sleek, the choice of accessories for the latter is simple but, works really well. The water parks themselves look like great fun with the little characters, playground, loads of nice slides and the squirty see-saw what an interesting idea, the signs are great to.

I also like the shop the food and accessories look great particularly like the chips. As for the Klickies I like most of them particularly the black guy in trunks not sure if the hair piece is new or whether it's just because it's black and on a black guy but, I definately like the combination on that figure, like the kids as well but, I'm not sure about the baby having buttons on his back and the trunks look a bit weird might have looked better if they'd carried them on round the rest of his body.

Thanks for the great review :)

(I think you're right about the accidents waiting to happen, but hey, we have docs, ambulances and such for SOMETHING, right? :P )

I canNOT get those. But I REALLY want those two guys (the indian one with the medallion and the black guy =  )

Not so sure about the babies...

And the food is ADORABLE. But we don't really want the building... I'd love to get that food van Heather found... but it didn't show yet, did it?

Terrific Birdie, they look great close up! All plans (except 6674 and 6676) available: PlaymoDB List - Waterpark Sets 2015 (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/your_set_list.pl?setlist=6669,6670,6672,6673,6674,6675,6676,6677;title=Waterpark%20Sets%202015) The part number for the dude in the innertube is unknown, sadly - if anyone orders him, let me know his number. Inventories mostly done.

Wonderful review, Birdie and a great job with the pictures.  (I still haven't got the hang of taking close up shots, they always come out blurry.  :-[ )  The shop is great, lots of neat accessories!  Thanks again for the review.  :)

I bought the 6676 cool dude in his inflatable raft, plus the 6670 Water Playground.  The 6669 Waterpark was too expensive for me at the moment though, so (after a lot of complaints from Cool Raft Dude, about how he had to sit in waterfalls or ponds and how he didn't like that) I bought a secondhand 5433 Children's Pool with Whale Fountain instead.  It fits together quite well:

(http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i157/Raven461/Waterpark_zpsbmdfwadr.jpg) (http://s71.photobucket.com/user/Raven461/media/Waterpark_zpsbmdfwadr.jpg.html)

See on that photo, though, the dark blue supports for the platform (far right side) ... there are three of them, and the fourth side is supported by the green shower.  Very nice, but I wanted to move the Water Playground off from its base.  Seemingly impossible unless one has another unique-sized dark blue support.  And they are not available form Direct Parts!

Grrrrr.

Nonetheless, with a few adjustments and much patience, it is possible to turn the Water Playground into something else.

(http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i157/Raven461/Waterpark%202_zps7sgtse9y.jpg) (http://s71.photobucket.com/user/Raven461/media/Waterpark%202_zps7sgtse9y.jpg.html)

I don't know what on earth this posts-with-slits-in and things-to-stick-in-the-slits building method is/could be called, but I do love it.

Looks cool! I do like the fact that you can combine these sets with other pools. I have the 4858 pool and I think it will fit in with the others nicely.

And yes, any building system that requires less system-X connectors is a winner in my book  :)

But what on earth were they thinking when they replaced the old system-X tool with the new one? The new one DOES NOT WORK  :hissyfit:  The connector are too firmly fixed in the tool, they get stuck in it.
(I might have complained about this before  :-[ )
