Hey, that was quick! I'd better go and add some Christmas decor at j4k too! ;)

Love the idea of adding the gift at the end! Really sweet!

Thanks for running the story again, Richard. :-*

You're very welcome, Sylvia! And. thank you for creating the original and the conclusion! ... :wow: ... :wow: ... :wow: ... :wow: ... :wow: ...

You put a lot of hard work and real love  into that Christmas story!   And, everyone seems to really like it. ... :yup:    And, many of our visitors have requested that we run it every Christmas! ...  <*)

We mustn't forget David's very special Christmas card (with your tweaking) that everyone will first see when they go to the site!

All the best, my friend, and I hope that you enjoy the entire Holiday Season,
Richard

I love the card
All those soldiers getting along.  It must be the first toast that is phtographed.

Did I spy Princess and Snowy in the photo, too?
I hope they will add to their story.

I have enjoyed the story in the past, but its always a nice tale to revisit.

And thank you for our christmas present

M

I can't get any sound on the story :(

Can any one help?

And, yes, the sound on my laptop is turned up.  I was almost deafened the next time I did a spellcheck!

Gordon,
You can find a rendition of "Ill be home for Christmas" and just have it playing itself over and over while you go through the story.

I wish I knew wish rendition this was, as it is very reminiscient of what I would expect for the 1940s.

Otherwise, you are going to have to tell us what computer, operating system,  and browser you are using.
Since Richard has Mac, and uses OS X (Tiger), and safari as a browser (or so I think) it works well for me.

Not much help,
Meg

Meg, I'd venture it say it's Tommy Dorsey, but I'll have to go though my CDs and check.
