does anyone knows this pirate
« on: June 17, 2006, 00:27:35 »
:) recently i almost bought this pirate - i won an ebay auction but the seller, streuner33/nicole, never sent it and never replied to my messages >:(.

i was unable to find where it comes from.

i couldn't found it in the playmobil archives, it is not listed in the playmo-related sites and i couldn't see it in the playmobil collector book ???.

can someone help me? although i don't have it i still am very curious about it. ;)

thank you.

Hi cachalote :)

The pic of the pirate seems to be missing from your post. Could you try attaching it or linking to it again please?

Curious to see what the fig looks like. ;)

Wow Cachalote! I'd guess it is some sort of promotional figure, but I am not much help since I have never seen it either! 8-)

Looks like it may be one bought from one of the FunParks.

Thanks for the pic. :)

I have seen this figure before, but only once, and it was quite a long time ago. A friend in Malta found one. ;)

Since it's bagged, it must be some kind of promo item. It certainly would be nice to know a little more about where it came from and who it was produced for. :yup:

Hi,

ok there are two more white Figures !!

There was a Set at the german dealercatalog.

If you have a toyshop you can oder this to make a kid action with a paint contest !

So i think the Pirat was a colored figure, too  !

ENJOY !

 :)
maybe you are right andi.
they certainly look alike, package-wise.
myonly doubt comes form the promotional leaflet, showing only the 2 figures you posted and not the pirate.
still, i think it's the best possibility for explaining this item i was unable to buy (i wonder what happened to the buyer).
thanks andi

I'm not sure if he is a funpark figure and looking at the minicat picture it was released in 2000 (Germany) we here (UK) got the same catalogue  front image in 2001.

He could be another type of promo figure and my reason for that thought is that most of the funpark figures of the same year where once Specials,4502/4504/4506/4511/4512/4514. So for that reason he doesn't really seem to fit in with the rest of the figures and due to the white parts being made for this figure suggests a cheaper production cost (no Print).

It's the first time I have seen this figure the other 2 figures in Andi's post I have and the Pirate does seem to fit in very well with them but they are a bit newer 2003/04. So maybe the colour contest was 1st run in 2000/01 and it went well so they did another colour contest in 2003/04?

Hi Sir Gareth,

in the new dealer catalog from 2006 there are the colored contest set again.

So i think the pirat must from 2000/01 so the inside catalog are with the front-end loader !
