A Medieval Day
« Reply #1130 on: April 22, 2025, 01:28:25 »
My partner & I have decided to become involved with our medieval re-enactment hobby again, after a break of about 6 1/2 years, & attended a medieval tournament on the Easter weekend. Unfortunately, due to weather, the event had to be moved indoors to a local arena. I took the XXL knight, & he was very popular with attendees, though everyone thought he was Lego until I corrected them. Pictures by Richard S. Mandel (Facebook).

SCA? The weapons suggest it. Very nice quality of clothing and armour.

They're here in NZ too though I was never a member. I used to belong to a medieval fighting group using blunted replicas and there was a bit of crossover with people belonging to both (as well as some larpers)or at least showing up for feasts. I left over ten years ago and the focus seems to have shifted from a general living history set up to armoured fighting which has an international standard of rules - bohurt I believe.
