My grandfather had a Model T Ford and one day managed to run himself over with it!  It had stalled, so he got out and went round the front and put in the starting handle and turned it.  After a few turns the engine fired and my grandfather then found that (a) he had left the car in gear and (b) he hadn't put the brake on!  He recovered quickly enough from being run over to chase after it shouting and swearing and eventually was able to jump on and stop it!

(Sorry for going off topic, but it has some relevance and is a good story!)
