Day 11. The pirate Baba the lookout.

I find the klicky really lame, for an "ancient" type. The legs and arms look very modern to me.

That said - gorgeous parts! Didn't get my hands on him yet....

Is Baba the first fat-bodied black klicky in PM?

The clothes are pretty accurate for the character, the head not so much but then again the original character was a type of black stereotype that wouldn't be accepted today. I don't know why they gave the captain boots. Bare feet were common for various groups in the comic.

Would liked to have seen that skull and bone sword but overall I like both of these pirates.

Just found out that the pirate crew were based on an earlier French comic  called 'Barbe-Rouge'.

I don't know the characters, so I am just talking about him as a "pirate klicky".

Thank you for the pic - the klickys are really recognizable (and this one seems completely ON for that character) - though you are right about the bare feet (I am happy they have boots, since bare feet has not been a fave of mine since... ever)

Would liked to have seen that skull and bone sword but overall I like both of these pirates.

 that'd be AMAZING!

Thank you for taking us through the process, JLMatterer! I haven't unpacked mine yet (typical), but very much look forward to play with this gorgeous ship.

I find the klicky really lame, for an "ancient" type. The legs and arms look very modern to me.

Agreed! I detest these rolled-up sleeves categorically.

Well... I love them - I realized there were no white black rolled up sleeves (ok, that sounds odd) when looking to use them ... and I was SURE there were  :-[  - I wasn't actually LOOKING for them, I was going to GET them from the box  ::)

That said, I hate them here too. Love them for more modern settings.

This guy is clearly parts, whenever I buy the ship. And if I get my hands on extras (nothing so far).

Thanks for posting this one. It's one of the one's that didn't get US release so I haven't gotten it. The ship is really nice looking. I will have to consider if it's worth getting at import prices.
