Welcome to the first day of competition here at the Marketon Joust!
The knights are ready to go, so lets get right to our first match.
-
In our first match today for Group A we have Sir Baldthar
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/A/1/mj-1-a-1-1.jpg)
-
And The Wandering Knight of Chateau de Lily
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/A/1/mj-1-a-1-2.jpg)
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/A/1/mj-1-a-1-3.jpg)
Sir Baldthar makes a solid shield hit there, but it’s a miss for the Wandering Knight
For one point to Sir Baldthar
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/A/1/mj-1-a-1-4.jpg)
Looks like they’ve both missed this run
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/A/1/mj-1-a-1-5.jpg)
Another shield hit for Sir Baldthar, but the Wandering Knight managed to sneak above Sir Baldthar’s shield making a hit to the arm. That counts as a body hit and is worth 2 points. With Sir Baldthar’s accumulated 2 points from shield hits we have a tie at 2 each
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/A/1/mj-1-a-1-6.jpg)
In trying to avoid another body hit Baldthar’s missed this run and, but the Wandering Knight of Chateau de Lily hit Sir Baldthar’s shield anyway scoring a point, making him the first to reach 3 points for this match and our first winner.
One win to the Wandering Knight of Chateau de Lily
-
In our second match today for Group A we have Knight Josephus Gottgens
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/A/2/mj-1-a-2-1.jpg)
-
Jousting against Sir Lawrence of Cashtown
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/A/2/mj-1-a-2-2.jpg)
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/A/2/mj-1-a-2-3.jpg)
Some clever work there by Gottgens as he avoids any hits to himself while managing to get a ping off the helmet of Sir Lawrence.
2 points for Gottgens
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/A/2/mj-1-a-2-4.jpg)
Both playing it cautious this run, resulting in two misses.
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/A/2/mj-1-a-2-5.jpg)
Oh! Look at that, we’ve got our first unseating of the tournament! with Knight Josephus Gottgens knocking Sir Lawrence off his horse entirely. There was a brief shield hit for Sir Lawrence but the unseating gives the win for this match to Knight Josephus Gottgens.
-
Moving on to Group B now.
First up is General Sir Agnar of Krull
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/B/1/mj-1-b-1-1.jpg)
-
His opponent will be Sir Fergus McAngus
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/B/1/mj-1-b-1-2.jpg)
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/B/1/mj-1-b-1-3.jpg)
From this side it looks like the General has managed a hit to Sir Angus at the waist. Sir Angus ducks a bit in an attempt to avoid that hit and in the process misses the General, coming so close to that helmet.
Yes, that’s been confirmed from the judges side and it’s 2 points for General Sir Agnar and none for Sir Angus.
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/B/1/mj-1-b-1-4.jpg)
And that’s Sir Angus right off his horse!
That waist hit may have unsettled him a bit Vanidel, especially with him coming so close to scoring that last run.
The General certainly seems to have taken advantage there to get such a solid unhorsing. That’s a win for General Sir Agnar of Krull
-
In our second match for Group B today we have Alban de Fleury
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/B/2/mj-1-b-2-1.jpg)
-
and opposing him Fearless Jack of Eulenburg
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/B/2/mj-1-b-2-2.jpg)
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/B/2/mj-1-b-2-3.jpg)
Some clever shield work on the part of Fearless Jack helps him avoid getting hit while he stays plenty steady enough to hit de Fleury this run
One point for Fearless Jack
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/B/2/mj-1-b-2-4.jpg)
Looks like de Fleury isn’t going to let that happen again this run. He’s pulled his shield in while getting his lance out a bit more.
A shield hit gives de Fleury a point, now tied one each.
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/B/2/mj-1-b-2-5.jpg)
Both concentrating hard now, they’ve each managed to hit the other’s shield solidly
One point each, tied 2-2
-
(http://animobil.info/PFJoust/Marketon/Group%20Rounds/Round%201/B/2/mj-1-b-2-6.jpg)
Fearless Jack seems to have lost concentration just a bit there and it’s cost him! He managed a one point hit against de Fleury’s shield but in the process got tagged on the arm squarely for 2 points by de Fleury
That makes the score this match 3 for Fearless Jack of Eulenburg, and 4 for Alban de Fleury
Giving de Fleury the win.
To sum up we have wins today in Group A by the Wandering Knight of Chateau de Lily, and Knight Josephus Gottgens. In Group B the wins go to General Sir Agnar of Krull and Alban de Fleury
